If the Infinity fabric makes it where 2 gpus are seen as one this could be killer. Good to see vega making use of the fabric now.
At this point, I don't believe it does. But I'm sure that AMD are trying to do that, because it would allow for cheaper GPUs, and easier scaling, and more performance.
Michael Brindley but multi gpu is still shitty for gaming
this is just similar to nvlink.
@@zpr3d4t0r6 Which could change if we have an API that will handle multithreading well.
Oh hello, Vulkan! Didn't see you there.
I assume that much like single threaded games from the before the multicore era, we'll see the advent of multigpu games later *provided the API isn't a pain to implement*. Like improvements to schedulers on Windows or Linux to handle multithreaded usage, only for games and gpus.
The best way to do this I think would be the chiplet style like ryzen. Have multiple sm cores dies all feeding into an io type die. That then would be scalable and let you make smaller dies cheaper.
....and welcome to the 100k club buddy! Really happy for you. Loving your work TJ!!!
Fastest gpu, snappyest processor, 10 billion rpm harddrive...
Motherboard at 133 Mz
It's important to use tested and known good hardware on motherboards, having the latest and greatest is not always the best solution.
@@TheFPSPower ;) my pc is 9years old , and it lives^^
I had an R9 295x2 and an R9 290x running in Tri-fire configuration and it was excellent but I dimmed the lights in a 4 block radius every time I booted up the computer.
Interesting tri fecta
How did you survived the summer?

Lol a 12,000 btu ac unit in the window next to me
#Ryzen3forTimmy great to see you so close to 100k! Keep up the great work!
YEAH!! For Ryzen Three for Tim-eee!
Technically it should be ryzen 3000 or Zen2 for Timmy because ryzen 3 is like the 1300x or 2200G
If AMD made a graphics card so powerful that it required a custom water cooling loop just to run it, I would go out and build a custom water cooling loop just to run it.
Ninja Sushi Kinda like the 295x2 or the Fury X, lol but same
they do, vega 64 NEEDS to be water cooled, my runs at 40c at full load custom liquid loop. I love my vega 64 on x570 MB!!
100k subs. Nice. Hope you keep up the quality content. I really like it and #Ryzen3forTimmy
100k on the way soon, we need something special for such a great achievement.

Congrats on the 100K. Much deserved!!!
congrats on the 100k!!
Congrats on 100k Timmy joe
Man, I thought the days of dual GPU graphics cards are over, for sure! I guess it's different for compute type work, not sure if this is going to come to gaming...
think about the hash rates while mining you would get
It will eventually. We can only get so small.
Congrats on 100K man
Congratulations on the 100k subscriber!!!! Now let´s go for 200k.
100k good shit dawg.
Joe, the PLX multiplexer on the Vega Pro 2 Duo is to double (multiplex) the PCIe x16 bus so that each of the two GPUs is connected to the system at x16. The two GPU chips themselves could be communication to each other via Infinity Fabric.
The way the R9 295x2 worked was slightly different from most PLX implementations. I suspect that the PLX chip on the R9 295x2 was 64 lanes (quad "split" multiplexing), with (one) x16 going to the system and (three) 3x16=48 lanes going between the two GPUs.
The GPUs connect via PCIs 4 the cards communicate via IF of course we 'need more input' which will come out in more detail soon?
Congrats on 100K!
Grats on 100K!
What if you took a PCIe riser and plug it into the 'power pcie' to power the card. Then take the card to a normal PC and plug it with a driver (not to mention if amd only releases those drivers via apples only). Just a fun thought in my head lol
Congrats 100k
Congrats on 100,005subs at the moment!
Please AMD do this, I'd spend 1200 on a gpu if it was two gpus and not just one
You have exactly 100 subs before you hit 100k! Congratulations ahead of time!!! 🎊🎉
Now 15!
congrats on the 100k!
Congrats on the 100K!
@Timmy Joe PC Tech IF you dont know that yet , TSMC already announced 5nm and 4nm production ready status for 2020
Was MAC going with an EPYC cpu on this Pro Work Station?
Congrats on the 100k subs and hope #Ryzen3forTimmy gets you some product samples. Now on the issue of dual GPUs, I'm down for it because how much further from 1nm+ litho process is possible or even feasible!?! I hope AMD are already R&Ding chiplet GPUs! I just love the fact that it's been AMD at the forefront of cutting-edge Tech over last couple of years... So yeah, whilst the jokes always seems to be on AMD and it's 'fan boys' I'm just glad 'we're' giving everyone else a run for their money or title!
Congrats on 100k
i would like to know what my computer would perform with a new graphics card instead of my oced hd6870
grats on the 100K
What if with the Hash Tag you get a 3 tier processor and not a 5 or 7 tier one
My thought is to place them on top of eachother instead of side by side, use PCIE4 and/or infinity fabric to connect them together and on to the motherboard. Distance and the way of communication are the keys to reduce latency. My real question is: how hard would it be to make a single chip with the properties of those two chips combined? Can't you just make a bigger chip and add more stream processors and compute units and whatever is needed to make a graphics card?
congrats for the 100K subs :)
about netflix and VPN services.... it stopped working for me due to Netflix having servers that detect whether you're using a proxy server or not.... so if they detect that you're using a VPN... they just won't allow the video/content to play.
Congrats on 100k YOU HIT IT 1SEC AGO
12:22 Infinity Fabric can run on many types of links, including PCIe.
Timmy I had done a comment @ Jim from adoredtv when the 1st gen ryzen came out suggesting that the same thing could be done at GPU since IF enabled 2 chiplets do recognized as 1.I am very happy to see it happening.
I personally think post Navi will be something like this. (doesn't have to be for gaming maybe just the datacenter idk)
Yeah I was counting on nvLINK in future I bought a motherboard with PLX chip just incase crossfire or nvLINK came back also it helps your system last longer because you can add things like 10GB lan & NVMe raid to the PCI slots without slowing down your SLI videocard
Great video, keep it up!
Holy shit you hit 100 k subs I remember when you had like 12 k it doesn’t feel like that long ago
I wonder what PCIe 4.0 could do for crossfire... Perhaps AMD will help you show us #Ryzen3ForTimmy
Congrats.. You hit 100k...!!!
I wonder if you could do something like bootcamp or dual boot windows on Mac pro and bench this thing in gaming
How did you know about our Wallaby programming?!
so if it's basically 2x Radeon 7 that's close to around a 700 watts gpu?
congrats on 100k
They are already working on smaller nodes. 7nm+ aka EUV, 5nm fab from tsmc is nearly ready, and 3nm fab has been announced by tsmc ...
But

Time!
But can it run cyberpunk?
Why bother with crysis when I can't even find the game myself?
39x2 was also a think red devil had one and it was a monster dual 8gb gpus
How do you feel about 16 core basically being all but confirmed at Computex Timmy Joe? Every Techtuber has said that 16 cores is coming, and that it exists, and it will come at some point.
i'd imagine there is infinity fabric between the 2 chips but for intergpu communication, and use pcie and plx to split the lanes to each one dunno if im talking out my ass though
How does this already have 3 dislikes, the video hasn’t even been out long enough for anybody to watch the entire thing.
Ward Fitness its called haters
Bots.
SinikkaL if it was bots i would assume there would be more than 3 dislikes
I think they should make them to where you can change the gpu's and memory on it. Come up with like a M.4 memory for it to store core functions for games and shit. IDK. Just a thought. It would be cool to see.
guys yesterday was my bday!!!
Love your vids TJ
Once I read about AMDs chiplet tech with Ryzen a few years ago I expected it to make its way to their GPUs as well. I think DX12 (Mantle, cough cough) will also support this as well. Are we seeing AMDs game plan slowely unfold? As ngreedia works on faster single chips is AMD working on multiple chip gpus?
u can see it in strange brigarde, if the game is well optimized for dx12, there is no problem by using crossfire, it scales perfectly. so maybe there is´nt a problem for dual gpu´s too?
I think it's a combination of 3D Stacking and multiple chips. From what's leaking out of Intel with their GPUs, looks like they are making a GPU chip and then putting more than on an a card and linking them with some type of Infiniti Fabric type bus making the GPUs act as 1. That's wild and I like!
What is the intro song name
Ayyyyyyy 100k
@Timmy Joe PC Tech Next video Unboxing the 100K UA-cam play button?😎😎😎
is it worth to buy a rx 570 or wait for next amd cards
Can we upgrade vr ram?
i wanna know how and where you got that graphics card on the table right there with the girl on it oWo
When I was on an AMD panel I gave them ideas about making generic video hardware that they could program to emulate specific hardware both CPU and GPU. I talked about the APU idea long before it came out in that panel and they took it and ran with it. Baby steps.. Now I think my good ideas are being used and I am so proud of AMD. They are a great company and really listen to their loyal people. I am a computer tech and Have many 10's of years of experience in the field. I wish them all the best and if they keep going with this line they will smash anything up against their cards...
Gratz on the 100k soon to be!
You are so great to watch and Just like I was when I was a professional. Keep up the great work!
We need a more competitive market. If AMD pulls this off, we might just finally find ourselves in a situation where a 3rd gets inspired by the win of an underdog.
I love the intro thing.
Ive got a question.
I've been expecting to see AMD use IF in GPU's in one form or another. Even chiplets. But the elephant in the room is obviously will this card be recognized as a single GPU in your PC because I'm never going cross fire again and if what I'm essentially dealing with is crossfire on a single PCI express slot that's a no go. What do you think?
Had a ATI Radeon HD 3850 X2 back in the day, was a great card but had some funky artifacting in GTA4.
i have one in my C2Q rig
You hit 100k😁😁
Sorry for the noob question but WHY CAN'T NVIDIA AND AMD MAKE A GPU WITH UPGRADABLE RAM?
mostly they will go to the shit xD or they wont sell to much like they want for some years thats bad v:
and u know mony compatibilities competitivity?
Buildzoid recently used a pro duo and 2 furyx's in 4 way crossfire and placed like 50th in the world for firestrike.
Hope to see 3 core 3 fan gpu, each as powerful as radeon vii, with only 180watt tdp, and only 499$
Not going to happen at 499 that's a pipe dream
Intel's CXL is needed to overcome current dx11 crossfire sli and dx12's mgpu limitations. It probably comes with pcie 5.0 and multi gpu setups then have a chanse to scale up to %90 every condition. But will still needed to devloper efort. Probably devlopers will be more willing to do that cause of exact scaling guranteed
well the idea they are having since were having trouble going below 7nm is multiple processing units In one
Early rumors said navi is going to have infinity fabric multi gpu. But it doesn't, maybe it will come next gen.
Congrats on the now 100k (at least what's showing for me)
By Ryzen3 do you mean a Ryzen 3000 series cpu or do you actually want a Ryzen 3 3200?
SOO CLOSE TO 100K
