- 2024 Alvordton Plow Days | Plowing the Earth with Vintage Tractors
In this video I attended the 2024 Alvordton Plow Days in Alvordton Ohio. This years event had two 60 acre fields of wheat stubble to moldboard plow and had a great mix of vintage tractors and plows at the event. The local fire department put on a great chicken dinner and I talked to several folks that watch me on UA-cam.
In years past this event was known for having several Big Bud Tractors and 21 & 18 bottom plows working but for 2024 the Buds sat out and this year had several new tractors including a steam engine and John Deere 8020 Tractor.
Thanks to everyone for a great event and feel free to Like and Comment on this video.
Plow days are awesome. Doesn't matter what color or brand. Awesome to watch and be envolved.
The way you’ve captured the timeless beauty of these vintage tractors really brings history to life. It’s like stepping back in time and seeing these machines in their element! 😘😘😘
We had a 6 bottom plow on the family farm. It was pulled by an international harvester 1566. The plow was sold for scrap 2 years ago. Plows are almost unheard of now due to trying to prevent soil erosion. Neat video.
Thank you Mike for filming these amazing vintage ploughs and tractors. Looks like a fun event to be at for the day.
Great seeing you! Glad you were able to get the last shot of the steam tractor!
Hey it was great finally meeting you and your wife. See you at the next one.
❤😊VERY NICE VIDEO OF THE OLD TRACTORS AND PLOWS ❤😊
I was raised near Massillon Ohio where the Russell Tractors were made. Great to see it in action.
What a nice event😄👍 plow days are always great👍😁 thanks for the video👍👍
Nice job with the video Mike. Impressive getting tractor sound meshed in the drone footage. Good to see you up here again.
That old John Deere platform (Gang Plow) behind the steam engine was pretty awesome, I don't believe I saw it on the last years video when you were there. One or Two guys could lift and drop those individual plows but it was work, they got the nickname (Gang plow) because (like in this video) you usually had several guys lifting and dropping the plow shoes in unison (hence a gang of guys). Thanks Mike, awesome video and I agree that one Oliver you mentioned seemed to run very smoothly. 👍
Love the plows!!!
Oliver was well represented that day! Great video Mike!
Another great video! Sure looks like the ground plows nice!
Thank you Mike great video
The 2255 was quite a site. Not sure she was my favorite, but I'll concede to your thinking she was the belle of the ball! Correct me if I'm wrong, but that John Deere Wagner had a Detroit Diesel in it didn't it? HaHa! How would I know that?!! That Cockshutt 40 had that familiar Cockshutt whine. It's in the drive train somewhere. I remember it in Dad's 540s he had. He ran those older Cockshutts before I was old enough to help out. He then had a couple John Deere, then he picked up some old Olivers a 66, 77, 660, & 770. I thought I was in heaven when he picked up a 1650 diesel. Many many years ago! Thanks Mike. So many tractors that spur memories!
I liked the steam tractor with the 5 guys standing on the platform of the plow.
Lynn steam tractors look like they were the center attraction of the show
I really appreciate and enjoy your video and I hope God willing that some day in the future I could participate
Nice video mike!! Pretty cool tractors
Looks like Chris Losey "that oliver guy" made it out with his sweet Oliver 1655 front wheel assist tractor. The farm Jeep was something you don't see everyday.
That was me!
Awesome video 👍👍
Look at those tractors
I like Mike less videos on UA-cam from the imperial county California 👍🇺🇲 and like plow
Good video.
that 2255 is my favorite also
I was there. That 620 with double USA flags had the coolest sticker I’ve ever seen. “I’d rather be dead, than have red in my shed”. You think brand loyalty isn’t real!!
And that’s the kind of thinking that killed off IH. Rather than innovating and advancing as JD was doing, IH stayed with their, until then, loyal red fans that had gone on buying warmed over versions of the M and, when IH finally did start innovating, the farm economy had tanked. Nobody was buying much of anything. Bad luck played a roll but complacency is what killed IH. Shame to because the very innovative 88 series of tractors would really sell under different circumstances. As it turned out JI Case had those very innovative tractors laid in their lap but could only think of repainting their existing tractors red and ignored the gift they were given.
Big Tractor power was there that day, too.
No he was not. He was going to another event the next day and didn't make it this year. He here last year.
The 2255 was nice but my favorite was the 1655 FA.
Great video Mike 👍🏻. Yes, I saw Borderview Farms & Tractor Chasers videos of it as well. Looked like a really good time?
😍😍😍😍😍
👍👍👍👍
👌👌🚩🚩🇮🇳🇮🇳
😎😎
I thought you said "40 years or older"? Some of these tractors look like they're from the early 1980's!
Oh, wait a minute...
Love the sound from john deere 8020 with detroit diesel 6-71 and popping deere and all tractor
with an operator friend we are desperately looking for a 5500 steiger v12 detroit diesel and an 8020 because ours is ruined and next year in France in Alsace we are organizing an event for the 100th anniversary of this friend's operation
Jason from big tractorpower was there too
No he was not at the event this year
Nice stack music from the big Russell. Only way to top it would have been a Baker.
Hii sir
How many acres of land do you have..?
Kick A video
So the landowner get his fields ploved for free or what? Does he at least pay for the fuel for the other farmers??

Continuity ruined by some moron who wanted to bring a Jeep to a tractor show.
