    ℹ️ About the Episode
We're back on the road for the season! We have so much planned for this year that we're excited to share with you. As you know, we're doing the "National Park Blitz" and have 6-8 National Parks on our route, but we also have other events in the mix like music festivals, graduations, weddings, campus tours, and meet-ups. RVing allows us to participate in life's variety while still keeping our own schedule. In this episode, we get out of the KYD Bungalow by 9 p.m. Yes, a bit late to get started, but we stayed at the same Boondockers Welcome we visited a few episodes ago, making our late arrival predictable and safe. Had we left the following morning, we would have found hours of other things to do, cutting into our short time with Missy & Bunny. Many people wonder why we're on such a tight schedule. It's a fair question. After all, RV life is supposed to be relaxing! Carson didn't go back to school from Spring Break until two days before our friend’s wedding. Trish says we can do both... and so we do! In this episode, we get to tour the Alliance RV Paradigm 310R and a Grand Design Imagine 22RB. We also spend 5 nights at a Boondockers Welcome, enjoying the farm and fresh air. We found out that Charlie is a little chicken chaser!

I don’t want to be addicted to watching UA-cam videos but you all have hooked me. I am sucked into how much you seem to not just love each other, but how much you like each other. Your passion and connection clearly shows in your kids too. And, of course, Charlie is the star of the show. Your filmmaking creativity is amazing too. It must take a considerable number of hours to produce such wonderful storytelling and video compilations. Wonderful indeed. Thank you!

My wife and I are experienced RV'ers having taken trips in US, Australia (twice), and New Zealand. We are leaving for Alaska for a six week RV trip there this summer. We hopped on UA-cam to see if we could get some ideas, tips and tricks about Alaska and came across your channel. Not only did we completely enjoy your Alaska season, we went back to Season 1 and watched every episode and are now up to date. You and your family are amazing and we wanted to say we appreciate your passion, willingness to serve others, and sense of humor! I can't of a better scene that shows your humbleness and humor than the one where Marc is walking your stinky slinky back to the rig along the highway.
Best of luck on your future journeys and we look forward to watching them. And we are glad you finally made a stop in Oklahoma!

Marc mentioned “blowing the campfire smoke away” with his new found fan. I know it’s one more thing to carry but I highly recommend a Solo Stove. I looked at them and held out a long time before buying one because my wife wouldn’t join me at the campfire because she couldn’t stand the smoke. The Solo stove is awesome and truly smoke free. We were amazed! Two trips now and my honey has spent several hours by the fire with me. Worth it! (FYI, I have no affiliation with Solo Stove Co, just a happy customer). Keep up the journey guys.

Suggest you either hook that propane hose up (at least a little) or find caps to cover holes. Dirt dobbers and other critters will block them. Then you will find yourself digging them out in the middle of the night rather than a simple knob turn.

On my dual propane tanks. I have 3 clip on tags. 1) saying "Empty" , 2) saying "Full" , 3) saying "Using". I just clip which ever one makes sense to correct propane bottle. I got this idea from my Dad. Aonther Idea he gave me was if you need a check list before moving, then put list in front speedometer. Then when you go to move the vechile, your check list is right there when starting the vehicle and you will see it.

To add to short travel days, last year was the first year my wife and I traveled with a trailer (Grand Design Reflection 297RSTS) and based on KYD comments from previous years, we tried to limit our daily mileages to 300 miles give or take. (I recall one of Marc and Trish's talks with another camper that used a 3,3,3 rule. IF I remember correctly, that was 300 miles, get there by 3:00 pm, and something else I don't recall at the moment.). We found this to be a great plan. Much over the 300 miles and we were more tired at our campground arrivals. We're not morning people so the "get there by 3:00 pm" isn't such a big deal for us. I just wish I could remember what that darned old other 3 stood for...! Last year we did Northern Michigan, Norther Minnesota, and Maine. This year we're doing Northern Michigan again, Ohio, New York, and Maine again.

Mark & Trish- thank you both for being consistent. I started following you a few years ago when I began to travel for work full time. I hate moving in and out of apartments every 3-6 months and it’s hard on the dogs too. I’ve wanted my own space.
We have been looking and going back and forth between a towable or drivable..
Currently I’m in Florida and I’ve had a floor plan in mind that reminded me of a “home” and I came across a Thor Challenger That has essentially three separate” rooms” a front living room, a kitchen and a bed room so I bought it’ then told Shawn my other half to come down so he can see it (not k owing I already put a down payment) well he liked it too- we brought it “home” to where I am staying while on this assignment and come to find out he had been secretly watching your episodes too. Once home he had your essentials list and had shopped your Amazon store etc!
We have it out now on a shame down trip and are making a list of things we need or want.
We hit the keys all the way to key west- stayed at a newly rebuilt KOA on sugarloaf key which was stunning and now we are headed to Marco Island for a few more days before heading back to Inverness where I’m Working til July.
I am hoping to go on my next assignment and stay in the rv unless it’s on a big city. I’m a travel ER Director and have been a nurse for 34 years.
It was you two that inspired me to really see I can do this and live a comfortable life on my own terms.
    Thank you both
    Mary M

Check out Bolt locks. They have coupling locks, hitch pin locks and padlocks. They come "unkeyed" and you can key them to your trucks ignition key. First time you put your key in, your turn them about 180 degrees and set the tumblers. Then you always have your key to your locks. Someone once stole a buddies Polaris Razor and trailer, by taking the hitch pin out and transferring hitch, ball, trailer and Razor to another truck and driving off.

Quick tip for finding propane: I often search for welding supply companies. They buy all kinds of gasses in bulk and often times are cheaper because they might have a 10,000 gallon tank instead of a 1000 gallon tank.

And Charlie killing his duck was hysterical. See, if you had just listened to him when he was letting you know he wanted to play with the chickens the duck would be alive today. Great fun. But please keep both propane tanks hooked up. You are counting on the two way valve to work properly. If left unhooked, at the very least you might waste some propane, at the worst you could cause an explosion if the leaked propane hits a spark from a wire or from the road. I have a nice valve just like yours but would not trust it. I do as you and just leave one tank on so I know when to fill the tank and do not run out.

The propane bluetooth sonar thingie - YES! Just did an April trip to the Finger Lakes (ie winter) and it was a life saver for tracking my propane and knowing when to refill. Works so much better than the valves that go on the connection side.

"Cat", here! Marc, there is, also, a 12v small box fan (same fan sold under several different names) that has been on the market for quite along time, now? Works fairly well when "freedom camping" (which my wife, Cathy, prefers instead of boondocking or dry camping) when 110v is not available! Also, to silence the "take up clasp" that holds down your propane cylinder top cover, use electric shrink tape, not sleeves. Wrap around take up loop several times and hit with a mini butane torch! Walla! Silence!

Tractor supply is usually a win stop! Some places will match pricing for propane. Like Affinity in Prescott will match Tractors or Costco’s propane price. We usually refer to ourselves Zonars or Zonies, but I like Phoenixans 😄

@Marc, you should add the Mopeka Tank Halo (and update your link). The little tank spaces that the sensors ship with are annoying over time as they start falling off. The Halo ring is a minor upgrade, but it removes that frustration, and you no longer have to worry about losing the spaces.

Great video but it may take me awhile to live it down. We used to live in SC & loved the coast from St Simons Island GA to Duck NC but Beaufort & Charleston are our favorites. My 5xgreatgrandfather was at Ft Moultrie with the 4th NC Continental line during the Revolution so we have some long history in the Palmetto state Then this afternoon we were out looking at a Silverado to use for a tow vehicle to buy a travel trailer but decided to pass. Then we watch this video & it looks like we’re back to looking at tow vehicles.

Charleston is a fun city to visit and the historical value is great. My ex and I got a chance to go there about 32 years ago and the dime was on her company. She was a controller for a bank and she was attending a seminar for new bank accounting software. I am glad I went then because I was still young enough ( mid 30's) and Charleston requires a lot of foot travel.

When Trish talked about the cobblestone being from the ballast they put on the ships from Europe it reminded me of something I saw on a documentary about the history of the Irish. In the height of the potato famine migration they switched from paying people to put stone ballast on the ships which were only partially loaded with goods going to north America, then having to pay dockworkers to unload it. The Orish migrants would walk into the cargo hold and only get enough food and water to keep them alive, then they would walk off the ship.
I guess you'd call that a win win, lol.
The Irish were a self propelled ballast.
