Wondering: would one apply a light noise gate ahead of MV2 in the chain to make sure any dead air noise floor doesn't get compressed up? Or just trim out dead air with volume automation? Etc.
You can also use MaxxVolume, which is just like MV2 but has a noise gate - and a little more control over the upward and downward compression parameters.
all waves' plugins have vst3 components but vmix is not officially supported. you can try running a demo to see if it works, there's no difference between the demos and the full licenses (aside from the time limit of course).
MV2 doesnt make much sense to me…if it can be used solo, as it was said in the video, whats the attack time for it then? From what i understand it works similarly to rvox just some additional options. If the attack is super quick, then its just smashin everything at these levels…if its slower then usually you will need something quicker to pickup the transients. So what is it?? It can be both righ…or it can? I see people usually use rvox + cla2a, i assume its gonna be the same with mv2. And what if compressor is hitting to slow or too quick…you cant adjust anything a bit. If you go to manual you wont fond a word about attack time. Folks…you cant work with only two sliders or knobs!! Or if you do, you must have bunch od other plugins in the chain to compensate
This is an interesting analysis. I wish to ask a few questions: how Is the MV2 different from the vocal Rider Plug-in? 2ndly, is it advisable to use this plug-in on Vocal Bus channels or it works best with Single -vocal Channels?
