Russia Commences Deployment of High-Impact Shahed-238 Jet-Powered Kamikaze Drones

Russia has reportedly started using the Shahed-238 kamikaze drones in Ukraine, an upgraded version of the Iranian-designed Shahed drones. The Shahed-238 is jet-powered, which differs from its predecessors, the Shahed-131 and -136, which were slower and propeller-driven. The use of jet power in the Shahed-238 likely results in increased speed, posing new challenges for Ukrainian air defenses. Faster drones are more difficult to track and intercept using conventional short-range defense tools like machine guns and cannons.
