  • For several months we have been planning an almost two and a half thousand-mile road trip from the UK to Northern Europe. With the planning, hopefully, all complete we thought we'd share how we went about planning the trip and things to consider when planning a trip, especially with a caravan.

Just back from nearly three months in Scandinavia including Sweden. Very easy driving but lots of speed cameras. Great summary of what is required for driving in Europe, but just a couple of additions, in the Netherlands you should carry two warning triangles and there are towns in Belgium where you need to pre register for ULEZ zones, also Germany has their own criteria aire sticker scheme depending on your route. If you are crossing the bridge from Copenhagen to Malmo you get a discount if you pay in advance. Have a great time. .

Thanks I'm glad you liked it. Good catch on the two triangles, I'll pick an extra one up. Öresund Bridge is all booked and paid for. Others had mentioned the speed cameras, I'm generally not a fast driver but will be paying extra attention to the speed limits. I've also switched the display on the dashcam to KMH which will help my navigator double check speed ;-)

@@DTSquared it’s difficult to break the speed limit in Sweden as the locals stick to the speed limit like glue. Reduced speed limits 80km down to 50 or even 30km in most towns and villages and many cross roads. There isn’t much warning of the reduction. Have a great time.

Thanks, as I say in the video interface is a little bit clunky in places but it's still a useful tool for planning.
