- Well, hello there! Today we are playing Historic Brawl with the new additions from Jumpstart Historic Horizons. For over a year now, the community has been pretty vocal on social media, asking for a permanent Historic Brawl queue. And with the recent update we finally got it.

I dunno what it is, but his style of talking just gets me grinning. The editing certainly exists too but when there's this grumpy/grinning ginger cook-smith sliding in from the bottom right and he goes "hmmmmmmmm" I have to laugh
His accent, tone, and sarcasm is fucking hilarious
@@dickhammerbush172 German accents make people laugh for like no reason 😂😂😂
The accent? And the tones? Edit: Someone beat me to it.
N he looks really different irl
It's German humor. It's no laughing matter.
Ironic how Saw That Coming is the most foreseeable counterspell in existence
I know I'm being needlessly pedantic, but I think that's the opposite of ironic
@@WintryFox you're right
Well, it is in the name lol
@@goodsamaritan66 It's got a spark of irony because "Saw it coming" is supposedly supposed to be from the perspective of the caster. Implying that the caster is one step ahead of opponent. But in reality, opponent is the one who see's it coming, so they are actually one step ahead of the caster. So while the phrase is technically true, it implies the opposite circumstance. Thus irony.
Foretell a card that isn't saw it coming for the free "opponents don't want to play counter bait spells"
Dear god, that ONE FRAME of Bugs saying "NO" overlayed on the Tale's End got me. FUCKING BEST, DUDE.
That PSA about not scooping too early is really apt. It was funny going from the LGS environment, where it feels like you might as well see the whole thing to the end most of the time to Arena, where blowing up their commander once can sometimes be enough. I can get scooping when my Satoru Umezawa cheats a Jin-Gitaxias into play on turn 3, but there have been times, when I feel like the only thing stopping the opponent from winning was just seeing it through to the end. There have been a hnadful of occasions, where I've seen an opponent just scoop a game I had no chance of beating. Not like in that "Oh, there's no way I can win" way, but rather the "There is literally no out and I am dead next turn." At least it has encouraged me to keep playing even when I know there's nothing I can do to stop the kill on the next turn, because there is a chance that asserting dominance is enough to get them to surrender a won game.
I was never really into the idea of Brawl until I started seeing the format’s fans posting sick games like this. I recently started playing Historic Brawl with Marrow-Gnawer and have been having a great time, definitely recommend trying the format out to anyone who likes Commander but has been hesitant to check out Brawl. It can be a big investment given Arena’s terrible economy, but Gnawer lets you get away with a deck halfway made out of Swamps and Rat Colony, so… 👀
brawl seems chaper to me since you only need to have one of each card and not four
I only do historic brawl because I can't figure out any good decks otherwise. Do we get ranked in standard brawl?
The Marc Rebillet Loop Daddy killed me. I LOVE THIS!!!
Love listening to his streams while editing! There was no chance I didn't include him when the deck is called Loop Station
@@BrewersKitchen It was very funny and low key terrifying to hear my morning alarm randomly in a video hahaha
I'm watching this at 8:30 AM and that song is my alarm so I grabbed my phone, super confused, like "wait, it's not time to go yet"
That was amazing! The bonus game was vile. Did your opponent dirty. This was educational.
Cautionary Tale: NEVER use a boardwipe on a flicker player with mana up.
I've watched MTGGoldfish grow so much over the years. Big cheers to the whole crew for always improving and creating content for everyone. I can't even quantify the amount of free content this channel has provided me over the years. I listen and watch daily. Crim for the Arena series, Seth doing his classic Janky nonsense, Tomer taking on an entire Commander channel, Adriano for the AMAZING thumbnails that often blow me away, and of course Richard keeping the site updated with new features all the time. Now Brewer's Kitchen cooking up some spicy high-quality edits to round out the team further. Much love you all at MTGGoldfish!
LMAO TAPPED THE LIKE BUTTON! for real. Really enjoy the extra editing for these episodes!
Love to see you on this channel, keep the great content going
the brewer spends two weeks in mtggoldfish and starts playing panharmonicon and mana tithes. the Seth influence is real.
Lol
Holy shit, I laughed way to much at the Socrates "Do you pay the 1" meme. lmao
That bonus game was siiiiiiick! Keep making these videos!
Glad to see more of you. Hopefully we get to continue to see more brewers kitchen. Love your personality and content style
^^ this
Production value on the goldfish just keeps getting better.. Very impressive editing and effects!
welcome, mr. kitchen!
The Yorion in the thumbnail looks like Maximillion Pegasus took a Yorion and stuffed it into Toon World. I love it, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Once again the thumbnail alone is enough to earn my interest, respect, and undying support for this wild ride of a series. More please!
seeing a white-red land destruction deck on Historic Brawl just warms my heart
i really liked the video. editing really adding to the humor. appreciate the cards that didn’t make the cut section of the article since i usually end up doing that on my own. saved me a lot of time
The production value, commentary, content and music are awesome! Keep up the great work, Phil!!
Really enjoyed this. Loving the higher production & quicker pace
I like that the Brewer Avatar is more likely to be nervous than malicious...Lol
*Thanks* *For* *The* *Content* !
I don't like content like this... I LOVE IT.
Seriously that editing is over the top good. Not to mention all the sick jokes in the intro "Do you pay the (1)?"
A+ GIF usage, and divinely slick editing. Plus, great deck construction and piloting
Love your work, BK.
You are the best thing that's happened to this channel since day one. Love your pacing and animation. Thank you!
Love the video so much!! So much fun and great edits. Thanks for posting!
I love the little mini wrap up after each game.
Really loving this stuff Phil. Hope we do get to see some more Historic Brawl stuff in the future. I feel like the format has a lot of potential and is just so fun.
This was so much fun! First time I've seen a Brewer's Kitchen video (after watching his Commander Clash games), and I'll be back for more! I love the fast pace of it all, and that art is amazing. XD
Kudos for the quality of the Brewers Kitchen series.
That mana tithe reaction was the best "I told you so" ever
"Ai aiai aiai, opponent"
I've been on Esika Brostorm for a while, nothing to complain about. You win some, you lose some.
Man… your content is top tier. Hope we get an increasing amount of it.
Cheers
The extra editing is just SOOO GOOOD. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I CANNOT like this enough.
I have been looking forward so much to your next video - love your content!
Awesome Video Man, Keep it up!
Loving this series so far
Great video on an under-represented format. I love the vibe and formatting of these videos.
Really awesome editing work, Brewer's Kitchen! Your comedic content is next level! XD
You got a like from me
Awesome video and sweet deck to play!
Best addition to the MTG Goldfish crew!
My new favorite content from the MTGGoldfish Team! Keep these up please!
Great video, loving the content
Love these, excellent work!
LOL blinking his whole board just before that Wrath on the bonus game was AWESOME!! Guaranteed that guy was super salty seeing that lmfao.
Soulherder and Panharmonicon would be so sweet to add on this deck...just keep bouncing everything and slowly growing your board state. Avoiding board wipes is just icing on the cake here 👌
I’m only here for the reference to Loop Daddy, there is only one! Haha
Very well edited, really tight content! I'm not familiar with Historic Brawl but seems like a nice parallel for Arena's equivalent of full EDH
Yeah, it's basically Arena's Commander, although it sadly lacks a multiplayer option, so it's all 1v1.
The "Got Heem" was just great. Oh that dude has me rolling to this day. Too damn funny. Good games btw.
Bro you even referenced Loop Daddy Marc Rebillet... Love it.
Historic a brawl is my most played format as of late. Love seeing more content on the developing format!
Love it! These videos are so fun!
damn, video quality is so good. well done editor! and noce gameplay/commentary aswell :)
Keep the content coming, loving these videos!
I don't think I'll ever get into Historic Brawl. I'm uninterested in spending the money and/or time to build a deck to play. That said, I do love watching you play and enjoy the content you create. Thanks for letting me play vicariously through you and saving me who knows how many dollars.
If you already play historic it's not that expensive
Love this new series. Maybe just slow it down just a little but other than that I love the teaching aspect. U r awesome bro. Great addition to the goldfish team
I made a yorion deck as my first historic 100 card brawl deck, and mine is quite similar. I put deputy of detention in it to help out against any kind of token deck or landfall deck (scute swarm) and so far, it has been a game changer in each deck I use it in. I also put in that new cleric 2 drop from the d&d set that let's you choose from destroying target enchantment, gaining 2 life, or exiling a card from their graveyard, which is just an all around great card to use against graveyard decks, enchantress decks, and even to gain a lil life if I'm low
Perfect. Everything in this video is nice, especially the voice acting 👌
Damn this is some quality content
Phil, you're a great addition to the Goldfish team! Loved this one
Oh wow sick intro! Also permanent historic brawl might just be the one thing that gets me back into arena. For context: I play magic since Alara and OG zendikar. I was playing arena as soon as the open beta was out. And even me, despite having LOVED magic for ages, couldnt sit through all the bs, bans, and awfull economy that plagued Arena during eldraine and afterwards.
The way this is edited is incredible.
Love this content. Schön zu sehen dass du jetzt bei Goldfisch dabei bist! :D
Great deck, also great video. Keep up the work work. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Been loving the corner brewing content!!
Waiting for that next game play, been loving these videos!
The recognition for Loop Daddy was pristine!!!
Great content as always! Keep it up BK
I don’t usually like brawl, but this makes me excited to watch more.
I never comment, and I never play brawl. But content like this is absolutely amazing. Would love to see more.
The editing on Tales end was hilarious! Thanks for lending your voice to MTGGoldfish. Edit: Bonus game… saved by the bell. Wow
how have i never heard of brewers kitchen till goldfish!? the editing, neat art style, clean gameplay, and even stellar voice!! what an amazing content creator! like button heck yeah
Great content !
I have to admit: your friendly reminder of pressing the like butten are the smoothest I ever heared.
Please! please?! Please!! More of these videos
This time I've pre-emptively smashed that like button
I know you have a life, but man I'd kill to see more of these videos more often!
Hilarious new content. Well done
Huh. This video actually made me consider trying the format. I did not see that coming.
Love your videos and decks, Phil! Can we has more historic brawl tho, please? :)
Man this Magic Arena game looks really fun. I sure hope it has a fair monetization system and don't force you to grind over multiple days for one deck
Fun challenge: Assemble a Niv Mizzet Reborn deck and see how many times you are paired against anything other than mirror match.
Today I have played 11 matches, 10 were mirrors. :'(
The deck strenght pairing is broken, so i guess you were just unlucky :(
The edit work is huge, but so is the pleasure of viewing it. Thank you for the effort
This is god tier MTG content
More historic brawl!
The hah goteem was incredible
Great content
On the first game I was so angry I legitimately tried to concede the game not realizing i was watching a video
Amazing content.
The like button had definitely been tapped
These are great videos
Super videos. Weiter so!
Good old sky noodle.
Earned a like from me for that genius
I have a limited event this afternoon. I pray the legend of liking this video be true.
Dear god a ranked queue yes. Yes that.
Don't scoop early? Oh my, you have some real competition there on this channel.
Reminds me of the eerie interlude/ghostway deck Seth (better known as SaffronOlive) made for budget magic (modern) back in 2018
I like historic brawl! I made a Jund Goblins deck and it's pretty fun and aggro!
I love this
