I am 21 and have a full beard, the beard gives me respect no joke. People respect it and move out of the way when I am walking towards them. They leave the door open for me. They call me "sir" instead of "young man" and such. People just respect beards. I also do not get carded anywhere. When I shave it I do not get as much respect. There are only two kinds of people without beards, women and children.
I must be a child despite a testosterone level around 1000 ng/dl. Beard growth has to do with follicular sensitivity to androgen receptors. I guess most Asian men have low testosterone based on your logic lol.......There are plenty of men with low T and great beards ( a friend of mine). When you shave the beard, a lack of bone development may be exposed. Testosterone helps you shed fat and burn muscle fast. I've developed a six-pack in my sleep.
I can only imagine. My moustache and goatee instill a certain level of respect and fear in people when I walk by. I can literally feel the humidity rising in the room when im around women. I used to work at Enterprise Rentacar, they have a mandatory rule that you have to shave. One monday I showed up with some stubble and I got sent home to shave. Needless to say I now work in the oilfield industry and have grown out a beard ever since I left that company. But yes, beardsmen are more trustworthy.

Goatee / Soul Patch / Handlebar mustache - Hipster chicks [not all], a few chicks into weird scar and blood fetishes, girls who smoked, girls with tats [not all]. Generally more edgy girls. Also attracted homosexual men for some reason Full luxurious beard: Now I don't know if this worked but I had a ton of homosexual men approach me when I had a beard. The amount of dudes coming up to me outweighed any benefit I was getting with women so I shaved it.

There was a guy at work with shoulder length hair and clean shaven i thought nothing of him but when he had short haircand grew out his facial hair I was like "Hubba hubba...come to mama" ;)

I get it trimmed and shaped up once a month at my barber, but then the rest of the maintenance is up to me. Like shaving my neck beard every few days when it's starting to grow back too fast. It makes me look older, it thins my face and surprising it also hides my double chin so that's a huge bonus. I used to be so self conscious about that. Now it never shows in pictures or in person so it's great

im 30 years old and have used a razor only 2 times in my life. both were in high school for ROTC. some high up guy came to the school to grade our schools military training and knowledge so everyone had to shave.
Although I still have trouble in talking to women, thinking that I maynot be macho enough for them. I am happy from within by keeping my self busy in my work. Currently pursuing my masters degree in engineering. So yeah not everyone has the all happy go lucky beard. It did leave a huge impact on my confidence, but through regular exercise like running and swimming, I am able to keep up that part of my life covered up.

Usually, the longer the beard, the smoother. If it's only a week or even 2 weeks old, It might still be itchy. Smooth beard is a thing of patience. I didn't shave in about three months now and it is pretty smooth and fun to touch.
I'm in the British army and the mustache is allowed to all soldiers and officers, and it's common enough. Though it's only the regular well kept mustache will do as we are real men.

If it looks good, grow it. If it looks like a phase 4 cancer survivor (or something that shared a trashcan with Oscar the Grouch), guys, shave it off - it is NOT helping you.

So I guess although looks do matter a lot initially, a person can be judged only by his/her character. I personally had issues about not being able to grow a full beard..dropped a year in engineering, didn't have confidence in talking to girls, as I thought that I am not 'manly' enough and all that..suffered a lot during the second year of engineering in my under-grad.Always felt that God has not given me the ability to grow a full beard and thereby i'll always look like a kid.
I cannot grow a beard despite very high testosterone levels (~1000 ng/dl) and high DHT. People say DHT helps grow facial hair, but it also acts as an estrogen antagonist. You need follicular sensitivity to androgens to grow facial hair. DHT is roughly 10X's more androgenic than testosterone, which is anabolic. Therefore, testosterone will mainly act to build muscle and shed fat. A proportion of testosterone converts to DHT. Higher DHT helps lean out the face and prevents water retention. Focus on increasing testosterone and the face will masculinize either way.... It's a good idea to perform an estrogen detox as well.... Estrogen causes woman's faces to bloat up like a blowfish. Very thick lips and puffy cheeks is a sign of high estrogen (fat distribution).
Finally, you have to have the deep baritone voice to go with your beard. I can confirm that women love a moustache. When I shaved it off for a spell, my wife was not too pleased. Immediately, the regrowth started. As stated below, you don't grow a beard for the ladies. You grow it to honour God's command, not trim the edges, etc. It's my wife's fault if her neck connects with my beard.

What are your habits like when trying to grow something? Do you start from a clean shave, give it a week, then get discouraged? You have to give it time. My hair was lighter and I also had the barely show in pictures. Not much you can do other than darken it. Don't feel bad about it. What does it look like if you don't shave for a week or two?

So I guess although looks do matter a lot initially, a person can be judged only by his/her character. I personally had issues about not being able to grow a full beard..dropped a year in engineering, didn't have confidence in talking to girls, as I thought that I am not 'manly' enough and all that..suffered a lot during the second year of engineering in my under-grad.Always felt that God has not given me the ability to grow a full beard and thereby i'll always look like a kid.
Some scientists say that evolved humans of the future will have much less hair, so you shouldn't feel bad about not being able to grow a full beard.

I cannot grow a beard despite very high testosterone levels (~1000 ng/dl) and high DHT. People say DHT helps grow facial hair, but it also acts as an estrogen antagonist. You need follicular sensitivity to androgens to grow facial hair. DHT is roughly 10X's more androgenic than testosterone, which is anabolic. Therefore, testosterone will mainly act to build muscle and shed fat. A proportion of testosterone converts to DHT.
Higher DHT helps lean out the face and prevents water retention. Focus on increasing testosterone and the face will masculinize either way....
It's a good idea to perform an estrogen detox as well.... Estrogen causes woman's faces to bloat up like a blowfish. Very thick lips and puffy cheeks is a sign of high estrogen (fat distribution).

After watching this video I have developed a thing for women with beards.
Finally, you have to have the deep baritone voice to go with your beard. I can confirm that women love a moustache. When I shaved it off for a spell, my wife was not too pleased. Immediately, the regrowth started. As stated below, you don't grow a beard for the ladies. You grow it to honour God's command, not trim the edges, etc. It's my wife's fault if her neck connects with my beard.

This a weird line of conversation, troubles with someone's beard growth, but I'll give it a shot. Everyone is different so just do whatever works for you. What are your habits like when trying to grow something? Do you start from a clean shave, give it a week, then get discouraged? You have to give it time. My hair was lighter and I also had the barely show in pictures. Not much you can do other than darken it. Don't feel bad about it. What does it look like if you don't shave for a week or two?
