My puppies are with momma all the time. Unless she goes eat and to the bathroom. She been such a great mother. She has 11 pups and she takes care of all of them.
Love watching her smile when she looks at them. I am a breeder to and I can see her love for those babies and the are really cute :)

Thank you so much, I’ve been hand raising a litter of seven myself for the last 5 days after mom died in labour. Poor little guys aren’t pooping to good, they had a enema from the vet a couple days ago but they seem to be clogging up again. I think it’s the formula so here’s hoping this helps the little fellas out

Their doing good touch wood. It’s a constant worry though because their so small that after a feed their little bellies blow quite large and hard that it’s a must to make them poop especially before the next feed. 1 or 2 still take so long to make toilet but they don’t seem in distress and the others are functioning quite nice
Thanks for keeping these videos simple and easy to understand. I have litter of 9 Saint Bernards. They are 12 days old. For a few days I've seen very little poop. They are all eating well, quiet, and their bellies are soft. They are with mama only to feed, though she has access to them all the time. She will lick them, but only a few, and it's a half-hearted attempt.
I wasn't quite done. Also, mama's farts are FOUL. They smell like puppy poo(hard evidence? ). Is she maybe cleaning them overnight while we sleep?
It’s very possible that she is cleaning them up when your not aware. It’s their instinct to do that so chances are she is. Sometimes first time mommas don’t do it and it’s common in English Bulldogs for the mom to not do it because they don’t have a natural birth experience. But with your St Bernard I would say she’s definitely cleaning them.

I have raised kittens given to me by the ASPCA that were approximately seven years old. The same goes with the kittens with making them pee and poop. However, I’m not sure about the Cairo. I’m curious. Now I’m on a new adventure with beautiful puppies. I’m fostering them for a few weeks and thank you for the wonderful advice regarding possible constipation.

Just had a litter of 3 bulldogs at 1st they were weeing and pooping fine then just stopped so just brought some of the karo syrup so fingers crossed this works . Your videos have really helped with a lot of situations thanks so much
Congratulations on the babies! I’m thankful we could help! Keep in mind that Karo is pure sugar so only a drop is recommended. Something I failed to mention in the video is a hot bath will also get the bowls to move naturally. Don’t get their head wet at all but run their backends under really warm water and massage their belly’s. The water needs to be the temp you would have for a shower for yourself. This usually will get them to poo within and hour or so. Hope this helps!

Hi, I have a litter of 4 French bulldogs, having some constipation issues. They are about 2.5 weeks old so I have been feeding every 6 hrs and let them suckle for 10-15 minutes. I have no idea how long I’m supposed to be letting them eat for. When I first brought them home I was letting them eat till they were full but then very quickly experienced diarrhea from over eating.. now is it possible they aren’t hydrated enough because they aren’t eating enough? I don’t know how long to let them eat for. I bought the karo syrup today so I will be giving them this but my main question is how long do you let puppies suckle for at a time? Is 10-15 mins enough? Thanks.

Hello from a first time breeder from South Texas! We have 6 beautiful English bulldog puppies, and 1 of the puppies, Scarlet, seems to be constipated and having some tummy trouble. We’ve tried giving Scarlet some Caro syrup (1-2 drops), but it didn’t seem to help. Any advice on how to help our baby girl?
Sometimes it takes the Karyo a little time to work. If she doesn’t poo within an hour or 2 give her more. If she doesn’t poo all day you may want to consider calling your vet. Our advise is to give the kayro every 3 hours or so until she does poo.

How do you keep your Bulldogs from getting yeast in their ears?
Mine are constantly going to the vet for this. Soon as they finish the ear drops and Antibiotics. It comes right back.
I’ve bought every kind of ear wipes to clean the ears.
Maybe you can help me with this. My babies keep shaking their ears and scratching. I’ve got to get them back in to see the vet tomorrow.

Our LouLou had this exact problem. Ear infections constantly. The only thing we found to get rid of it completely was changing her diet. Yeast comes from bacteria which usually grows due to allergic reaction to something... most commonly what they are eating. I realize changing their food will be much harder than just giving them medication but in the long run it will be worth it! You should also buy non-fat plain Greek yogurt. And put a spoon full on their food every meal. Yogurt has probiotics that help fight of bacteria and yeast.

What kind of dog food do you feed your dogs? I feed mine Iams. That’s what they like.
We actually recently started feeding our dogs RAW. We make their dog food. But if that’s not an option for you think about boiling chicken for them and adding green beans and carrots. Try to not give them store bought treats. Instead give them Banana slices, blueberries, apple slices or cheese. It’s much healthier for them and it’s usually things u pass by conveniently at the grocery store. Check out our video on feeding RAW if you get a chance.

I do hand feed them. They are spoiled rotten. I enjoy it and they like it also.

My puppies are 5 days old and there not pooping as often there are French bulldogs and all I want them is to poop I massage there belly use warm water nothing and also did a enmeza on them that help but they back to not pooping
Unfortunately water enemas sometimes help instantly but make the problem worse. But in certain circumstances it’s the only thing you can do.
How long are they going without pooping?
You can supplement moms milk ( which is sometimes hard to digest) with goats milk a couple times a day and this milk is much easier for them to digest. It will help them poop. Of course you can also try Karo syrup ( just a couple small drops)
I have tried the “drop” of Kari syrup and now it’s liquid poop!!! Not good
One drop definitely won’t do that unless the puppy was not truly constipated. But the diarrhea should clear up with in 24 hrs unless there is something else causing it.

It doesn’t matter. You just give it to them when you realize they need it. For example as soon as you realize they are constipated or if they are lethargic and almost no responsive, or if they don’t have the energy or sucking power to eat.
@@HouseofWrinkles great . maybe it’s just me panicking. they are very active and are 7 days today. i just don’t like when they don’t poop after they eat. i do burp them and help momma stimulate them but not always do they poop. thanks again :)
The Kayro won’t hurt them at all. Just only give a couple drops from your finger. Definitely don’t let them go 2-3 feedings without pooping. If they miss just 1 that’s ok. But they should definitely poop the next feeding if they miss one.

You can dip your finger in it and put in their mouth or use a dropper or medicine syringe. They only need about 2-3 drops.

How long has it been since they pooped ? Are you sure they are getting milk from mom?
Water enema if an emergency will help
Also running them under hot water ( not the head) make sure the water is the temp you would use for a shower to bath yourself. Rub the tummy while the hot water runs over their body.

Hello! We just had a litter of 5! Our babies are 1 week old today. We are feeding them Esbilac goat milk replacement. They started pooping watery. Is that common? Or should we be worried? Hi!! This is a great question. If they were nursing from mom and then you switched this could definitely be the cause and should clear up in a couple days. If they have been on that the whole time. Have them checked for worms or coccidia. Both of these things can cause watery stool and are very treatable with no worries.
Try giving each one a dab of pure pumpkin and this will help firm up the stool.

My pups had some diarrhea and now their tails seem infected only half the litter. What can I do, they were already on antibiotics via injection and Albon.

Had a litter of 10 on Monday and lost 9 out of it, the vet said they were dehydrated due to the mom not producing milk, so we bought esbilac while the litter was remaining 3 and started feeding them ourselves….Yesterday we lost two and now it’s just remaining one, so now I’m not so sure it was dehydration. I’ve got a new of signs they showed before dying that’d i like to show you to get your opinion if that’s okay with you

It’s very common for them to get constipated. Don’t worry just yet. You can give the Karo 2 times a day ( couple drops) You can also put his body under the faucet and let the hot water run over his belly. This relaxes the stomach muscles and helps get the bowels moving. Usually the puppy will poop within a couple hours after the “bath”. Make sure the water is hot like the temp you would use for your own bath water.

Yes. I would give it some canned pumpkin or kayro syrup to make sure it poops. If the pup is intact pooping this will not hurt it at all.

Canned pumpkin will help with diarrhea. And it can’t hurt them at all so no worries on giving too much.

Not necessarily. You will need to weight them every single day at the same time. Record their weights. They need to be gaining weight every single day.
Also if they are not getting enough food you can usually tell because they will cry a lot.

Hello I gave the litter kayro syrup and they passed normal poops but now it’s day two since and they’ve been exploding on me. They’re 11 days old.. is diarrhea Normal ? They’re eating fine and active as usual. Just exploding !!! Lol
Some diarrhea is normal especially after the kayro. But if it continues u may want to give them some pumpkin. Canned pumpkin helps with diarrhea. If that doesn’t help you will need to contact your vet.
Is pooping 8 times a day for all puppies or specifically bulldogs ?
Well if your speaking of new born puppies constipation is very common and puppies won’t always poop 8 times a day but technically they should poop at least 3-4 times. If a puppy goes 24 hours without pooping it’s time to try working on getting them to poop because they are constipated.
But to answer your specific question it’s not about breed it’s all about what goes in must come out so no matter the breed of puppy if it’s eating properly it should poop regularly as well. So 4-8 times a day for the first couple weeks

This syrup have vanilla extract in it , isn’t that toxic for dogs?
Karo Light has vanilla but original Karo does not. Karo is completely safe for puppies but it’s sugar so you obviously want to stick with just a few drops like the video says. Karo is highly recommended for puppies that are weak and not nursing or for puppies that are constipated. It’s not to be given for any other reason or for long periods of time.

Run their bodies under warm water and massage their stomachs. They will usually poop about an hour later. Make sure the water is really warm. Like the temp you would have it for a shower for yourself.

I have a newborn puppy I found crawling in my backyard it's eyes are not open yet, no mama in the area, crying loudly made some formula for her. Question how to get her to take the nipple?
What bottle did u buy? We suggest a regular baby bottle from Walmart or Dollar General. One that has oz marked on it.
It’s very hard to get them to take a bottle but u have to keep working at it.
Hold the bottle like you would hold a cows utter. With the nipple facing down towards the ground. Gently hold the puppies face with the same hand once the nipple is in her mouth. With a little squeeze. Keeping her head and mouth on the nipple.

We suggest a regular baby bottle. Sometimes you can put a small drop of honey on the nipple to get them to suck

I'm a first time breeder. And my english bulldog puppies are doing great! But I've noticed they have a crusty butt haha after potty time. I put Vaseline on each on every time...is this normal?.what can I do to stop the crusting around there butts?
Unfortunately this is normal but it’s important to try to get it completely clean. U may need to get a warm wash rag and rub it clean. I also suggest running them under warm water for a bath once a week. It’s important to dry them off well and make sure you put them back under the lamp to stay warm.

How often do we give karo syrup ?
You need to wait several hours in between doses if your using it for constipation.

Every 2 hours for the first 2-3 weeks
4 weeks old = every 4 hours
5 weeks old = every 5 hours
6 weeks old = every 6 hours. Day time only

So you will feed them on mom for about 30 mins and then in 2 hours do it again. Repeat every 2 hours

Give each one a couple drops of Karo on the end of your finger. This needs to be addressed quickly! They are constipated and this can quickly spiral into a sick and dying puppy if not addressed.

If they seem ok my suggestion is to give them a drop of Karo every morning and night until they start to poop more regularly.
Weight them everyday and write it down. Also write down when each one poops. If they stop gaining weight that’s when you have an issue. Or if they start crying with a belly ache.

Ok sometimes an enema delays the bowls from learning to use the muscles naturally. My advise is to keep doing stimulation and a warm bath. Don’t be afraid to run his body under ( shower temp) water. Avoid getting the head wet. Massage the belly while the warm water is running over his body. Do this every day along with the stimulation every 2 hours. As long as he’s acting fine don’t panic. The key is to get his body to learn to poop naturally without having to do the enema. If he doesn’t go naturally with it 48 hours then do the enema

I would stop using the syrup once they start back having a bowl movement. It’s important they poop at least 2-3 times a day. Very important

Can we feed puppies karo once a day?
Some people who are bottle feeding put a drop in each bottle. I don’t necessarily recommend doing that unless it’s a very weak puppy but you can definitely give a puppy a drop or two 2 times a day no problem.
