343 need to add a place at round start option an option where you can state what rounds objects specifically spawn in So lets say in round 1 the power up is over shield, round 2 the power up is inv ect
My light are always very pixelated. Some of my blocks are also noticably different colors due to lightning. For example I had some chairs spawned and two of them were normal colors but the other appeared pitch black. Another example, when I place lights to brighten a roo. some of the blocks I used for the floors are brighter than others, you can also see a huge black line showing where one block end and another begins. any tips on how to fix this?
Cool beans. I'm looking forward to hearing you talk about more advanced lighting stuff, whether to bake lights or not, etc. I'm trying to make an indoor map and it seems to work really inconsistently. It's probably a glitch, but maybe someone's found a way around it.
Do you have any tips to lighting a large wall? I have completed a Damnation remake but i cant find a way to light the main atrium. I've tried adding multiple lights all over the wall but the pop-in from a distance makes it look really bad and having 1 big light doesn't cover the whole wall.
+SamWinks I would think that having a single point light in the center of the room with a low falloff ratio and high length would do the trick. If not, try projecting a few adjacent spot lights up the wall from the bottom with a high length and low falloff ratio.
+luisLr4 Each object in Forge has a lightmap. Some objects such as lights and more complex/large pieces may strain the lightmap budget more than others. If you are having lighting troubles, try changing the properties on objects that don't need to have lighting. To do this go to object properties and turn baked lighting off.
Just so you know, that cylinder forge piece you used in the middle is flawed. You can shoot straight through parts of it. To fix it, you can just put invisible walls inside it. (Many primitive pieces share this flaw)
its a tragedy how few views these videos get. so, so helpful and so interesting.
tragedy?
So I'm dealing with a blotchy lighting on my map. The Lightmap is on 70% and I've got a tunnel that I'm working on.

Big help. I think I messaged one of you guys earlier because I couldn't figure out for the life of me to get the lighting down in my house.
how do you turn off the light bake for a forge map? I accidently held down my change to player button and I turned on light map for all of my map.

This map would be sick in infinite love how rounded and purple it is
That map looks Good for Slayer.
When I set my lights to flicker, they don't flicker when I go to custom games why

THAT MAP THO 😍
These videos are really helpful, really appreciate them :)
Could you make a video explaining light baking with objects? Does removing light baking on interior objects decrease light budget?
it does
I wonder how those blocks can get a little glossier, but great map, and so crestive trying for a Covie theme.
You can do that by changing the matte/metallic option, you'll have to change the color a bit though...good luck!
How did he do that thing with the magnum at the beginning where it was showing off? Ifs it's a timer how long does it take?
Its an idle animation.

Will try that, Thanks.

Incredibly helpful, thank you.

+TheHaloSource I know about this. The flawed part is at the bottom for that reason. There are several cylinder pieces with that issue.
Haha, That music was so funny. I was like "Look at the beautiful lights mannnnnnnnnn..."
Why does this remind me of a guy reading off a menu at Olive Garden?
Covenant themed map? Looks nice!
+theUSpopulation Thanks, it's something I've been working on. Duck helped out with the lighting some and found it to be a good example.
@@SkywardShoe from my expiriences covenant maps are more work due to the amounts of curves and lack of curved walls in tbe menu
Anyone hate how small the "lightnap*" budget is
the music?
Sorry. I'll be sure to use obnoxious dub step for the next video!
+FORGEHUB its fine, just kinda strange for a halo tutorial
+FORGEHUB the music is one of things i love most about this channel.
+FORGEHUB obnoxious adult contemporary death metal would be better imo.
+FORGEHUB I think an edgy 30 second intro with dubstep would fit the theme of this channel better.
What's with the funeral music?
the music is so distracting
