Today I set up a really basic script for an over shield. There are corresponding green cross signs that spawn and despawn as the over shield respawns/used to indicate at a if it's available, just because of how the sight lines are. Wouldn't have thought of it without these great tutorials as inspiration.
Okay, well I'm going to make invasion now. Oh btw, what's your favorite forge map/canvas. Mine is breakout arena. I made an infection map where one of those bolder/pod things you saw coming from high charity crash lands, and the overseer of the breakout games quickly enclosed them with a barrier, put in some supplies for the Spartans he would launch in, build some shelter and launch them to clear them out. The flood can go to where the Spartan's base is and deactivate the barrier to get a hold of the supplies outside (scorpions) to win, or just kill them off the old fashion way.
Omg, this reminds me of the '"Assault'' objectives in Halo Reach Invasion maps. Where you carry the bomb to blow shit up. In my maps I often used it for doors and made it look destroyed with antennas and shit
couldn't you just phase the broken pieces in permanently? why script them if you're just putting them where the wall is? If there was going to be rubble away from that wall, that would require scripts.
+AnthonysCustoms Exactly what I was thinking, good point and definitely worth playing around with, I am a raw beginner with forge but I think having a few small angled blocks already phased into the wall, to add realistic destruction would be cool to see.
i have a question about despawning. this effectively deletes the object does it not? it will not be there if you start a new round and if you go into monitor mode it will show that you have one less object, unlike an explosive which will just disappears when you blow it up, and is not actually deleted from the map
This may sound stupid but I've been having trouble with the explosions fx when they explode all at once instead of at random like I want them to. How do I get them to explode at different points in time?
i have done all of the above but the debris after the explosion won't go away. is this because I'm still in forge? do i have to game test it in custom games?
Having issues when scripting objects to despawn after message received. They just despawn at the start of the match. Even after saving multiple times as I kept building the level Ilost a whole bunch of scripted objects after adding some things that had nothing to do with their scripts. Game recognizes they are there but they are invisible and the items needed to interact with to spawn them are gone as well. So frustrating

I am having trouble keeping my welded group together during my scrip on a timer with rotation: off set. They rotate around my center item just fine but the outside objects(they are welded) loose their place in the group. some fall behind and some move ahead, and some move up or down. add Quoper and send me a message and I will invite you if you want to see what I am talking about or can help

If theyre phased its gonna be doing that annoying eye killing block flickering cause of them being inside eachother
The flickering isn't really an issue once you're out of forge.

Is there a way that you can make a script which makes a block disappear when you Spartan charge it like in campaign and some warzone maps?
I want to make a wall that when it blows up it spawns small pieces of blocks where the wall was to make it look like the wall crushed to pieces .

If 343i put this in official maps this would've add a lot of asymmetry.

+Quoper1 Thats just one of the quirks of scripting groups. Its better to script single items.
