Genesis Arms Gen 12. The most reliable mag fed 12 gauge on the planet.

- The Gen 12 is changing the way the 12-gauge shot gun was used for decades. The history behind the company, how it came to be and the products they offer. I am proud to say I was one of the OG's with the Gen12.
This review is for those who may have only recently heard of Genesis Arms. We mashed up some old content with some new, enjoy.
Not to mention everyone at Genesis Arms are some of the best group of people in the industry. Not one single employee has a chip on their shoulder and their attitudes and commitment to their customers is second to none.
Sounds to me like a lot of people are really upset because they can't afford this firearm. I can and it's unparalleled in how well this shotgun runs, I have put 100's of rounds with no FTF or FTE, you get what you pay for in this life
I love the concussion sound after 7mins…so cool!
Don't forget to give credit to the mad scientist who invented the Gen 12 and all its variants. Theo!
Thank you for your time and passion😊
20 week wait now and the price hasn’t increased. People complaining about the price have never owned a business.
Genesis is a game changer for sure. ODG is the color for this setup. Curious I if you have ran any Federal Power Shok slugs 2 3/4” 1610 FPS? Not a single issue with Winchester Super X so I grabbed up some cheaper Federal and it would not feed from any of the 3 mags. The Winchesters measure at 2 3/8” with high brass and the Federal 2 1/8” with low brass. Both say 2 - 3/4” on the box. Seemed the shorter stuff would not strip off the mag cleanly and chamber without smashing the casing. Just curious if these shorter than advertised ammos are a potential issue or if you got it to run any shorter cartridges similar to this length. Nice video as always.
I feel i have tried everything that is commonly available, the full house slugs are rough, the but the reduced recoil, or controlled flight is where the gen12 really shines
Hey Jeff, I recently placed an order on one of your safariland holster mods, but before of purchase and was looking at the lead time theres a typo. You can find the typo in F&Q and the secrion is under the Safariland information. It says "With that said here our our estimated lead times". Just ought to let you know
Thumb up. Awesome shotgun. Congrats. I heard you say it shoots ok any kind of slugs, for example....the spicy slugs ?
You talked a little bit about lights. I've found that the shorter pistol lights from Surefire and Streamlight work better on short forearms. They take up less space, don't mind the recoil, and still allow different switches from direct to pressure pads to be used.
Very cool. Game changer for sure.
I will have one. Yes I will.
This is going sound unhinged but I want a version of this that's chainbered with 12ga mini slugs.
This looks like a great shotgun - thank you for the video. When you’re shooting the reduced recoil slugs around 7:35-7:50, it looks like the bolt doesn’t lock back on the last round. I’m guessing this is due to the reduced recoil ammo. Does that happen from time to time, or is it pretty rare? Thanks!
I was wondering about the same thing. It looks like the reduced recoils are not the only ones doing this. A couple of other review are experiencing the same thing and none of the video addresses this…
how is the AEMS holding up to shotgun recoil?
Zero issue, its a great rds
🤘 😁 🤘
What color is that?
Is the gun still reliable if you leave the mags loaded for extended periods of time?
I have not had any issue with the mag springs. No real difference over a tube spring.
The audio/visual contrast talking about shitty ammo and highlighting Federal was hilarious.
LR 1oz. slugs? As if it couldn’t get any better.
Drone killer?
After watching this all the way through I see why people are complaining Lol got boring quickly!! Great info but you at a table and random shooting shots isn’t enough 🤷♂️
Is it still non-nfa with 5" barrel and a brace? How much more reliable it is compared to KUSA 12 gauge AK non-nfa shotgun? I've seen Granddad Thumb's video of freeze testing them, they both ran similarly flawless.
They dont sell the 5" uppers by themselves. Their legal department is timid.
Have any Poors started to complain yet?
Does it shoot mini shells? My $150 Maverick 88 does!😅
mini shells suck.
@@LoneStarBoars 🤣
2800$ is a steep price tag..
quality aint cheap
3000 for a shotgun, just wait for psa to come out with their own version.
It’s an AR15 chambered in 12 gauge with an HK price, nah. There is literally no reason for that price considering it’s utilizing a 60 year old design just like the MP5.
It’s a bit more complicated than that but go off I guess
That's what I'm saying if it was 1.5k a pop it would be ripping the consumer market apart but at 2.5k to 3k with magazines being almost 50 bucks a pop, most people are simply never gonna get their hands on this shotty
Not sure why most people are bitching about the price tag. What really concerns me here is the bolt lock on last shell doesn’t always works. This isn’t the only video with that happening either. And noone is addressing in. Seems like these guys do a lot of giveaways.
Last round bolt open all depends on ammo. And the fact that I
Have a lot of guns that don’t lock back on the last round. It’s also not really needed. If the gun does not lock back on the last round. I simply perform an immediate action drill. And reload a fresh mag and charge the weapon.
This should answer the question and share a training tip.
I’m more of a bolt action shooter and not one who owns tons of shotguns. But I do have an A400 for birds. Now the A400 does not need the bolt to lock on last shell, not nearly as much as a tactical platform such as this Gen-12. And the bolt locks every single time for the past several years I have owned it. It will function as intended for anything from even shorty shells to 3.5” loaded so full they’re barely crimped. A tactical platform like this should be expected to perform the same. A handicapped person can recharge the handle, it doesn’t take training. The issue here is that the bolt is intended to lock, and it doesn’t.
I have put probably almost 10 cases of many many different ammo through my A400, and even test it by firing the gun off shoulder up-side-down. There has not been even 1 malfunction.
The Benelli M4 should perform the same.
I understand these are not magazine fed. But a tactical platform at this price tag doesn’t have the right to malfunction.
Regardless of shitty ammo
IM sold on it but I don't understand the production issue, and no IM not a guy who pumped gas for a living, I completely understand manufacturing and costs but when you have a hot product you have to be ready, even if that means taking on investors, this PRODUCT is HOT, and with long lead times you will loose people who will just buy something else and move on REGARDLESS to the fact this is a better 12 gauge........
Reach around shotgun😂
In what universe is a 3k shotgun that is new to the market being called reliable.
Well considering the amount testing that Genesis arms has done. In semi auto. A proprietary magazine to ensure said reliability and did j mention. They run flawlessly on full auto. I get it, you have an opinion even though you have never seen or shot one In person…
@@rdrgear i wonder if you know what the world reliable means and it’s implications in firearm use. Running flawlessly in a controlled environment and testing done by the manufacturer doesn’t mean it’s reliable. But hey, you are the guntuber here not me
Runs most things well. Spartan buckshot, it does not. The brass case gets ripped away and leaves the shell case behind. I’ve had a second round feed into the shell case and then get stuck. Garbage ammo.
I have never heard of spartan buckshot lol
@@rdrgear I’ve got a bunch of it, was the only thing available for awhile that wasn’t crazy overpriced. It’s cheap euro shells loaded with some 25gr of a medium burn rate powder (like unique, green dot, etc), an fs12 cushion gas seal, 9p of true 33 cal (pretty rare, most manufs under size 00 buck), and an overshot card.
I think it’s running at the high end of pressure for that class of shell. They would benefit greatly from a slower powder. The level of power they put out for the amount of pressure is definitely pathetic

You can still get a russian izhmash saiga12 for less than half the price and it will be be more than twice as reliable. Or pay the same price for a Vepr12 and it will be 4 times as reliable
And you get half the reliability as well. Sad fact, is you have no idea what you talking about because you don’t all 3 guns, but this is you tube so its par for the course.
@@rdrgear I do own all 3 guns and have tested all of them on my own accord. Just because I don't post videos to UA-cam doesn't make it invalid. And just because you get paid by Genesis to prop the company up doesn't validate your review either.
@@Grooove_e send me some vids im always down to learn. You “you got paid comment” always Makes me laugh. Send the videos to me on IG i look forward to seeing your guns and data collection.
Ps: please explain the how a weapon is 4x more reliable than another, why not 4.1x or 6.8 times etc.
@@rdrgear I'm not going to waste time arguing about it when you clearly have the means to test the other two guns yourself, but simply want to be correct through argumentative means. I try to keep my internet presence a minimum other than youtube. I don't even have other social media (no facebook, no instagram, no snapchat, no twitter, nothing). I'm not even trying to trash the Gen12, its a great shotgun and it is also quite reliable compared to most other options on the market. I'll even say it's more modular, lighter weight, and better for "combat" than either the saiga or the vepr. I'm simply letting you know you're wrong claiming it's the most reliable mag fed shotgun on the planet. Look no further than Garand thumb's freezing test (while unrealistic/extreme conditions) he shows a simple KUSA saiga12 copy outlast the genesis.
too bad they're on forever backorder...
They are a super innovative company, with a great product. Just wish they could innovate in production and reduce their wait times.
If you are a serious buyer they have dealers who have stock
Good brotha, I haven't found one, please share. I'll buy this over the honey badger sd I've been considering@@rdrgear
just ordered the pistol version from POM, thanks. @@rdrgear
I turned off when i found out it was 3000 for a shotgun. Lmfao! Insanity
jesus they raised the price of the upper 400$ since the last time i checked.
you gotta pay the cost to be the boss, if you deck out a Benelli M4 your looking at over 3k, this thing is superior, sold my m4 for one.
look man, im gonna do this the same way I did in the service : yeah im gonna do it, but you cant stop me from bitching about it the whole time.@@brighthought11
Brightthought- No I’ll just look at you as stupid for overpaying like HK fanboys do.
@@gifthorse3675 someday you will be bale to afford cool stuff to.
17 minutes with the gun on the table and no disassembly. Lame and disappointing. The most fascinating part is to check the insides of the gun.
Tell that to You tube, you must be new here. PS the content is free you don’t have to watch it.
@@rdrgearthank you!!! You beat me to it Lol 😂
Cry about it. This man puts all this time into a free video for people to watch and learn more about it and he does what he can with you tube guide lines and you leave a lame ass unappreciative comment. Get lost dude.
@@rdrgearhahaha love your response 😂
Spoke a lot. Yet said nothing.
