Connor and Garnt hating the sun totally makes sense when you consider they're British. They didn't even know what the sun was until their first trip abroad,
If Connor went out with friends and just let them pick out clothes for him, that would be a really fun video. That’s what my friends had to do with me when I didn’t really have style lol
Yeah, but will be wear them? I'd be very annoyed with clothes anyone else chose for me unless I too wanted them. What if they say I need a yellow shirt, and I hate it? What if I don't need any more scarves? My gran used to present me clothes. Half of these were horrible, half were good. I never wore those horrible ones, and it felt bad just to receive them (she would definitely have been offended if I explained I don't want any clothes).
@@catherine_404 I mean if its from my gran i would wear it regardless. The fact that she cares enough to get you a bunch is a huge thing. I think Joey's childhood dislike of vegetables may have been down to how they were cooked. For some reason parents will basically boil all of the flavour out them into a homogenous blandness and then cluelessly wonder why kids find it disgusting; and then years later they stop doing that and suddenly the kids start to actually enjoy them much to the parent's confusion. To this day I despise spinach when it's boiled or steamed but I'll eat it raw all day if it's available.
You're on point. I've always said to people; there's only 2 reasons why kids can hate vegetables in general, cartoons made them think it's disgusting or their parents just can't cook vegetables to it's best. My mom makes the best vegetable dishes, boiled them in pork/beef broths, and a lot in between. I bought a friend over for dinner once, said he hated vegetables and after the dinner he said my mom's cooking tasted delicious compared to what he's fed at home. Growing up the only vegetable dish I refused to eat was bittermelon. The name says enough to why I hate it.
I hated brocolli so much back then because it was always boiled , then one day my mom decided to cook it with some style and that shit was bussin and would sub it for rice anytime.

I've always wondered when the residents of Japan - especially in the Tokyo area and neighboring regions - mention how unbearably hot their summer is, if it's similar to the summer heat in Vietnam. I remember when I visited my distant relatives there in the summer, it was so insanely hot and humid that I hardly dared to leave the air-conditioned house, because as soon as you stepped outside, it felt like a hair dryer or even an airfryer oven was blowing in your face non-stop. Even the Shaman King manga mentioned at one point how terrifying and notorious the Tokyo summer is for its heat, lol.
Last year in August it reached 46 degrees (114 F) with 80/90% humidity in the city I worked in Aichi (Prefecture below Tokyo). It was absolute hell the entire summer, especially if you worked in factories or production lines. If you're not exposed to the sun it feels like you're being cooked really slowly in a oven, and when you are exposed to the sun it feels like there is a person at your side with a stove cooking you full blast. The humidity will stick to your skin and you feel wet and sticky no matter where you are though.
i'm from SEA and one major difference ppl who have experienced summer in japan around me also agree on is that the sun rays actually feel painful on your skin, like it's piercing through trying to cook the meat under it or sth. here in SEA it doesn't get that bad even when it's hotter temperature-wise
I’m kinda hype for Joey’s trip to Vietnam 😂 Can’t wait to to hear his thoughts on the food and culture of my people. Prepared for the trash takes too hehe
01:03:08 Was just about to say this. And since Thai/Laos and Vietnam are basically sister countries, of course the language has the exact same sound but it's so bizarre every time it happens. It's unnerving hearing a language that sounds like you should understand it, but it's completely alien.
The interesting concept Garnt talked about in the bit about Avatar reminded me of the Netflix series "Altered Carbon". If you haven't seen it: the first season was awesome imo.
5:30 I do try more and more to use sunscreen and avoid the sun when I can. The long sleeve thing too. Though I'm probably quite a bit older than the crew here so it's getting even more critical for me, lol. 😅😄🌞
Mann, I had a teacher in high school who ALWAYS wore shorts. The only reason he would wear pants was if the school department people, whatever, came to our school. We used that man as a way to tell if we needed to be good or not that day (it was a "bad" school).
My chopsticks training arc was just a blur in my memory lol. My family was just like: "Hmm, about time you stop using spoon. Here are your child size chopsticks, use it". After that, the skill was awakened XD
In the desert covering up is also due to protecting yourself from all the sand. As someone who has trekked through one sometimes the wind can be very harsh so sand can hit your face very forcefully. It makes it easier to cover up your face in these situations as you avoid sand in your nose, mouth etc
I’m the opposite of Garnt wearing pants for as long as he can. I’ll wear shorts all the time unless it’s freezing lol. I’ll wear pants sometimes if i go to where i wanna look really good but basketball shorts so comfy lmfao
My step-sister who is Filipino spent a solid 30 minutes trying to teach me how to use chopsticks properly, and at one point in her teachings she went with a method that was similar to Garnt's, and when she explained the whole thing about using a third finger to help open and close the chopsticks; that was the point I committed to learning the proper way bc it sounded easier than the "cheat" she ended up trying to teach me. After an hour of it I was a successful amateur in using chopsticks.
I started losing my mind at the way Garnt holds a pencil, because, it’s the same way I learned to hold a pencil!!! I’ve never seen someone else hold it like that! I feel so validated now
The way katakana English was explained to me is speak as if there’s always a vowel after a consonant, including at the end of words. That helped me tremendously.
A new banger TT epsiode again this early lesgoo. Whenever I hear stories of their Parents, or the stories of Garnt's in laws in Japan It makes me wish for a whole episode where the boys are just replaced by their dads.
I think next sponsor read it should just be Garnt reading while Conner and Joey try to silently make him laugh. He looks like he’s having the opposite of fun the whole time.
I also love staying under the shade, like a ginormous tree, after being exposed to the sun for quite sometime, especially when there’s a nice breeze. Even when it’s humid and with me sweating bullets, the breeze and the shade bring such a relief
1:19:29 "As a tech nerd, do you think we will need more than 4K eventually?" TLDR: Yes. The reason why 20 years ago everyone "said" that 1080p is the most you will ever need, and they were wrong, is because of a specific optical anomaly where the human eye cannot perceive "line pairs" at any resolution higher than 60 Pixles Per Degree (60PPD), this is called the limit of "Visual Acuity" (due to line density on screen being higher than the density of photocells in your eyes). Problem is this limitation ONLY applies to the specific pattern of "Line Pairs", meanwhile when you're looking at anything that isn't specifically arranged in "Line Pairs" your eyes have variable sensitivity to patterns at 5-10x higher resolution, this perception of extra high resolution is called "Hyperacuity". The reason "Hyperacuity" defeats the limitation of normal "Visual Acuity" is because human vision works almost nothing like a normal digital camera. Firstly, your vision is binocular, two images merged into the single image that you "see" in your mind. Two unique perspectives create a much higher combined resolution, even if each eye individually is much more limited. Secondly, human vision is constructed over time, what you "see" in your head when you look at something is never a single "frame" the way we think of a photograph. Your eyes perform constant involuntary motion called a "Saccade", a fast twitch movement as your eyes change fixation points (the second fastest movement the body is capable of, only slower than blinking). Typically during reading your eyes will change fixation points every 20-30 milliseconds, this is also how your brain quickly constructs a mental image of an object, each fixation is a snapshot that builds on top of the other until you "see" a whole object. Circling back to applying this information to 8K vs. 4K vs. 1080p, the image from a single fixation snapshot from a single eye would look pretty bad, and that's where the old obsession with "Visual Acuity" "60PPD" and "1080p" comes from, 20 years ago the people in Apple marketing assumed THAT was the absolute limit of human vision (they were just stupid people, "Hyperacuity" has been well studied for the last century), but when you consider the whole system of human vision working properly ("Hyperacutiy") the average person will need at least 5X more linear resolution to saturate their visual perception (so technically 10K, 1920x5=9600, or 2560x4=10,240 if you want to scale off of 1440p). But there is a thing called "Diminishing Returns", as resolution increases the relative benefits of each extra pixel also decreases. Most people would easily say 4K looks twice as good as 1080p (getting double the horizontal resolution, 1920 to 3840), but 4K to 8K won't be nearly as dramatic, and beyond that even if there is a theoretically perceivable difference between 8K and 16K almost no-one will notice (except the 1% of people with the best eyes in the world). And none of this accounts for the monetary penalty of higher resolution, if we have "4K Call of Duty" today consuming 175GB, then "8K Call of Duty" will probably need twice that. In terms of infrastructure even with the latest HDMI2.1 connection bandwidth you can just barely get an 8K60hz signal across a cable from your gaming machine to a display, and we are reaching the limits of data transmission through copper. In the long run 8K at 120hz is my end game (and we almost have that class of display on the market, though the signal transmission requires compression so we're not getting "Native" 8K120 any time soon), and a lot of people are settling on 4K240hz. It's fairly certain that 4K240hz will be the competition standard a few years from now, but 8K120hz will be my personal preference, and with next gen-games we're going to start to see CPU limitations again where everyone will be limited to below 100fps anyway.
In terms of movies I think 8K120fps is the best sticking point, right now I'm working on using Topaz Video AI to interpolate the framerate of my favorite movies like the original theatrical Star Wars up to 120fps, coming from 4K film scans, so I will be watching a lot of movies at 4K120fps, but Topaz can also upscale quite well so I could make that 8K at 120fps if I really want to devote 500GB to each movie.
My dad taught me chopsticks the only way he knew how He took me to work on his boat really far from land, cooked food and told me "sorry son, we only have chopsticks here so you better learn" and you best bet I learned or I was gonna starve. Thanks dad
I've also gotta say that Avatar 2's story was a solid 6/10, but as Garnt and Connor mentioned; it's the 10/10 visuals that really carry the movie. I still loved it as a whole but I do agree that there were several parts in the 3 hour long movie that I felt didn't need to be in it.
In an interview in the 'Blue Deep' databook + recent interviews, Oda has said he'd like to travel a lot after finishing One Piece but has mentioned if he made a next series he was thinking of doing a Mecha-themed manga next. I can't imagine it'd be as long as One Piece but I agree that he'll probably make manga until he either physically can't or until he dies, it'd really be interesting to see him do a new series after One Piece though, imagine a 300 - 500 ch. series written by Oda, shit would be so fire.
I taught myself how to use chopsticks pretending to eat chinese food made out of mud when I was a kid. I was enamored with asian american media like Jackie Chan adventures, 3 Ninjas and The Karate Kid that had scenes with chopsticks in them and thought It looked cool. I would later learn that the mud I was playing in was there because of a water/septic tank leak.

What I like about chopsticks is not getting your hands messy with snacks and stuff. They're great for finger food. But if you're just eating a bowl of stuff, it's not as efficient as fork, knife, and spoon for the most part. That can be a good thing though, since it forces you to slow down with food, which is great for me as a chronically fast eater.
my chopstick technique is even more egregious than garnt’s, unfortunately. that’s so embarrassing 💀 also sydney taking her family to a girl bar proves she has balls of steel

Yeah I was in Japan in July a couple years ago and the temperature absolutely shocked me. It was so incredibly hot and humid 😅
@@hikarinanao Yeah true, even with our hotter SEA heat it doesn't feel as hot.
1:44:31 Joey tried to sneak in a segway into masterpiece lmao he even glanced at connor and even to garnt to make sure they caught him
I’m kinda hype for Joey’s trip to Vietnam 😂 Can’t wait to to hear his thoughts on the food and culture of my people.
Yo i was lost yesterday without an episode. I didn't realize how much this was part of my Friday routine
Mann, I had a teacher in high school who ALWAYS wore shorts. The only reason he would wear pants was if the school department people, whatever, came to our school. We used that man as a way to tell if we needed to be good or not that day (it was a "bad" school).
I once bought a titanium spork and is indeed amazing. The metal version always makes me feel like i'm camping
I say it every time, but damn I love when Connor is the host. The episode immediately gets more dynamic and has even more crazy dynamics and takes 🥰
I like when Connor is the host because Garnt and Joey get to sit together and share the same brain cell lol
Video idea- Joey styles Connor and gets him a more diverse wardrobe.
Joey can't dress well even if his life depended on it.
@@benjaminramsey498 give me 100$ and an hour at my shitty bosnian mall, i can dress better than he could for a 1000$ and a day to choose an outfit.
Joey and Connor’s little snicker at 1:46:07 made me laugh for a good minute and I don’t know why
I predict that Connor will wear that coat for at least 20 episodes
My chopsticks training arc was just a blur in my memory lol. My family was just like: "Hmm, about time you stop using spoon. Here are your child size chopsticks, use it". After that, the skill was awakened XD
Finally, an episode aired during a reasonable time in Japan!
What is it like 9 am rn?
@@ChillGuySammy that's right!
What do you mean? It's always uploaded at like 6-7am Japan time, how is that not reasonable? XD

@@AndyLifeInVideo yess I got it
When Garnt defended Connor's Avatar 2 take, I felt that.
Trash Taste offers the best insights. It’s incredible to see how much this channel has evolved.

Over 6 hours of Trash Taste content this week, love to see it.
My brain can't wrap around Garnt's chopstick technique
My step-sister who is Filipino spent a solid 30 minutes trying to teach me how to use chopsticks properly, and at one point in her teachings she went with a method that was similar to Garnt's, and when she explained the whole thing about using a third finger to help open and close the chopsticks; that was the point I committed to learning the proper way bc it sounded easier than the "cheat" she ended up trying to teach me. After an hour of it I was a successful amateur in using chopsticks.
if you're hanging out with the boys, take a shot when Garnt says "and everything like that" 😀
Grant not only can't drink normally, he can't use chopsticks normally either
1:11:00 this conversation remids me the building pc special, that i'm pretty sure Connor did not plug the power suply for the graphic's card
On the way to work in the morning only to realise there’s a new trash taste episode - day made ❤
21:35 Garnt just taught me how to hold 🥢
garnt holds a pencil the same way i do. i feel so seen. (also he looks great in that blazer in the sponsor segment!! very stylish)
Connor sharing his experience at a girls bar where the girl tried to get him to tip dom perignon made me think of Gintama lol
29:24 As an Ike Eveland fan, I speak on behalf of the entire community to say that Caviar on toast bangs
I started losing my mind at the way Garnt holds a pencil, because, it’s the same way I learned to hold a pencil!!! I’ve never seen someone else hold it like that! I feel so validated now
lmao
The way Garnt holds his chopsticks reminds me of how pitchers hold baseballs
The way katakana English was explained to me is speak as if there’s always a vowel after a consonant, including at the end of words. That helped me tremendously.
A new banger TT epsiode again this early lesgoo. Whenever I hear stories of their Parents, or the stories of Garnt's in laws in Japan It makes me wish for a whole episode where the boys are just replaced by their dads.
1:42:07 TIL: “It’s harder to get a serialization in Shōnen Jump than to get accepted in Tokyo University.” Whoa
After seeing Garnts chopstick technique his drinking technique makes more sense.
1:19:29 "As a tech nerd, do you think we will need more than 4K eventually?"
TLDR: Yes.
The impossible has happened today.
Garnt and Connor agree on something
I respect that they try to record on 4k but majority of viewers use phones, computers and TVs that dont use or have anything past 1080p
My dad taught me chopsticks the only way he knew how
He took me to work on his boat really far from land, cooked food and told me "sorry son, we only have chopsticks here so you better learn" and you best bet I learned or I was gonna starve.
I can't imagine it'd be as long as One Piece but I agree that he'll probably make manga until he either physically can't or until he dies, it'd really be interesting to see him do a new series after One Piece though, imagine a 300 - 500 ch. series written by Oda, shit would be so fire.
love the nerdy camera/film talk!!
😂
I love Joey's anywhere above 25C is shorts time, because it highlights how fun it is to be used to different temperatures. Here up north, to just pick random number, anywhere above 10C is shorts time
Bro had me starving for an episode of trash taste
Time to get some sushi then
1:15:00 Mate, you can just pay someone to basically script your entire "setup" and make an install type of file for your PC. Settings, installation, everything can be automated.
I can't believe I'm not the only one who holds a pencil like Garnt does
"Naaaur ... it's a matter of style" - The Ozzie 🤦♀️🤣 As to chopsticks - for tourists/novices - ALWAYS carry a few rubber bands to tie the ends. It protects newbie's dignity and makes the host look thoughtful. 😅🎉
1:20:00
boys talking about 4k and 8k
and i am here watching in 360p
I love summer but hate the humidity, probably why I love the desert. It’s hot during the day but it’s fine with shade and it cools down nicely at night.
Connor: "I know it's going to make you feel like an idiot, but you are.
*I cackled here*
You don't speak the language. You're basically a toddler. "
It's so true 😂😂😂😂
What I like about chopsticks is not getting your hands messy with snacks and stuff. They're great for finger food. But if you're just eating a bowl of stuff, it's not as efficient as fork, knife, and spoon for the most part. That can be a good thing though, since it forces you to slow down with food, which is great for me as a chronically fast eater.
my chopstick technique is even more egregious than garnt’s, unfortunately. that’s so embarrassing 💀
also sydney taking her family to a girl bar proves she has balls of steel
Watching this I just now realized that salmon roe isn't common in the west cus in Russia it's kinda common and we would often eat it on some toast
I would argue that the avatar guy going from human to blue alien is kinda "reincarnation" so Avatar is isekai tensei.. The dead guy from the first movie literally came back to live in the 2nd movie.
36:09 - 36:15 someone please clip this out of context I can imagine the edits already 😂😂
I'm Vietnamese. Southern accent of Vietnamese is very similar to Thai. The same thing Garnt experienced I also did a few times when I heard Thai in Sydney where I'm living, I thought they were my southern compartriots, turned out it was Thai (or Khmer, couldn't be sure).
