Totally, I had intended to film the whole route but as seen, didn't quite make it. There are soooo many side trips that are WAY more spectacular than whats seen here.
Hey man, awesome vid! A bud and I are planning on doing the NI 1000 this July. Any recommendations on don't miss side trips or camping spots? And what's the best route? We're coming out of Vic, ok with anything short of technical single track or super gnarly steep babyhead/riprap shit. Thanks!
Were you originally" CaptainOverPen".? When a channel change their Username that is hard on us viewers. 😞 May I ask... are you based in Port Hardy.? I have a few questions about The North Island 1000 and you were recommended to ask. 🙂
Yeah I am based in Port Hardy. Ask away, I'll answer what I can! Re: Name change, it made sense to do it while the channel is small. This was originally a video game channel so my twitch user name made sense, when it became a motorcycle travel channel the switch to something "adventure" just focused the content a little more.
I hope you keep your Username now. don't tell anyone but I wanted to ask does the 1000 represent 1,000 kms.? Cuz if it was an American 1000 it would be 1000 miles (big difference) Also, may I suggest you add a map for your next video about the North Island 1000 if you can. Plz do not laugh at the maps in my videos. Hee hee
@@AngelFaceMotoRider I don't think I'll have reason the change it again. Yes the 1000 is for 1000km. You can choose to extend or reduce this distance depending on side trips and some of the out and back portions. If I do another video on it I will include a map for sure. A webpage with a ton of detail is available at NorthIsland1000.com
Sorry for the choppy Audio folks, this was filmed prior to the BDR trips where I learned not to shout into the mic so much.
Great vid: thanks :)
Yup, I definitely need to get up island more!!
