The Young Ones is still amongst my favourite TV of all time. Rick and Vivian butting heads was always hilarious...and Neil....I still quote Neil, 35 years after I first saw TYO.
When you’ve finished Bottom you could watch Guest House Paradiso which has Rick and Adrian. It’s very similar to Bottom as it uses the same characters 🙂💗 xx
You watched Spinal Tap. Well Rik and Ade did a british heavy metal pastiche called "Bad News" and sequel ""More Bad News" and you have five live Bottom shows which are really funny and they can say anything unlike tv. But another Rik and Ade "Comic Strip presents...." is "Mr Jolly Lives Next Door". It's so similar to Bottom (which came later) that the characters are like the Bottom characters but younger. It's also SUPER violent LOL
@@AfterWorkReactions you're welcome, mate. The chaos bit is, I think, is up to your own interpretation of what these two degenerates are capable of. You will enjoy the live shows, I wasn't lucky enough to see them live but I still use lines from the third one today.
Thanks for reacting to a great comedy series. They certainly are a pair lol! Not sure what reference you were referring to but I think it was just a football reference, not sure it had anything to do with a joke they were running with (but I could be wrong). They have done some great stuff together. There was a series of feature length comedies throughout the 80's 90's and some of 2000's collectively known as The Comic Strip Presents. There's a really funny one called Mr Jolly Lives Next Door which may be worth checking out which stars both of them (does contain some swearing).
Absolute legends..one camera pointing at a ferris wheel carage just them two no props and how much they can make you laugh. Amazing 👏 liked your reaction feel like you have grown into understanding the bottom series.at first everyone is like WTF who are these two weirdos 😳 🤣🤣
Cup Tie Chaos to me as a Brit , I think of soccer, FA cup, the premier knockout club soccer competition, and the chaos being the hooliganism that did sometimes occur in the crowd during the 70's to 90's especially. These days modern all seater stadia and CCTV has largely eradicated the problem.
I can't tell you how happy I am that you've seen this. :D Rik and Ade were some of the greatest comedians Britain ever had. I saw them perform LIVE once and I'm so happy I did. It took me five years to fully recover from Rik's death in 2014 (heart attack and TOTALLY out of the blue, so it was a horrible, horrible shock).
Hi Josh. Love the fact you are enjoying my all time favourite sitcom. If you like this i'm sure you'll enjoy the Young Ones too. Rik is also fantastic as the evil politician Alan B'Stard in The New Statesman.
Once you have watched the bottom live shows, if you want more of Rick and Adrian. There is still "The Young Ones", "Filthy rich and cat flap" and "The Dangerous Brothers". As well as those, Rick and Adrian were also in the "Comic strip Presents" and a comedy heavy metal band called Bad News. Which I believe is another comic strip production, and they also had help making it from Brian May. Lead guitarist in the band Queen "
At the end when they start praying and Ritchie says pray to good old c of e he means Church of England (just incase that was one of the things you might not of understood properly) Loved this show growing up n good to see your reactions to all British comedies, defo The Young One’s can replace this for you.
There was an American remake of MBB that was shown over here. As I recall it wasn't too bad, I remember that the chilli/appendix scene was even grosser than the UK version.🌶🤢😆
It's not quite the same as Bottom, but you could try Gimme Gimme Gimme. It doesn't have the slapstick or surrealism, but it's mainly a duo in a grotty flat.
i dont know if anyone answered already but the cup tie chaos thing on eddies paper is to do with soccer and when lavvy was mentioned and eddie said he had one just after he goton it was a toilet joke lavvy as in lavatory basically eddie shit himself just after he got on the ride lol
Ade and Rik did a film- Mr Jolly Lives Next Door, if you start to miss Bottom. Theyre playing pretty much the same characters in it, but alongside Peter Cooke and Nicholas Parsons. Very funny, but not all that well known.
Cup tie chaos is not a joke at all, a cup tie is a soccer match in a cup competition that is separate from the weekly league games. Headlines like that usually happens when bad weather forces a lot of these cup ties to be postponed. Hope that explains it well enough 👍
the same actors star in 'Mr Jolly lives Next-door' - the funniest thing they are in. You need to delve into Kenny Everett: start with Reg Prescott, the DIY expert.
The Young Ones! You definitely haven't seen Brit comedy until you have been subjected to The Young Ones. It has Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmundson in it as well. It gave writers like Ben Elton a huge boost and was definitely a cornerstone of TV in the 80's. It was incredibly irreverent for its time, and is still ridiculous. I still quote the characters 35 years after I first saw it. It made an indelible impact upon me, and undoubtedly millions of others. No comedy show, in my opinion, has ever equaled it. For only having 2 seasons of 6 episodes each, it had a massive impact on comedy and TV in general.
You should check out Rik Mayalls 2002 show "believe nothing", it's one of his shows that is seriously overlooked but I think it's one of his funniest, it's only one season though unfortunately, you could always try his classic early 80s show "new statesman" also..
Imagine Eddie was dead, and he was richies imaginary friend because rick is an escaped psychiatric patient with schizophrenia….reminds me of the ‘drop dead fred’ movie 😂
You could try the young ones, which was a series they did when they were younger obviously, or Filthy Rich and catflap, both series are as mental as bottom to be honest if not more.
I've just mentioned those. 👍 Don't forget the dangerous brothers, and the spoof metal band Bad News. They made 2 movies for them, "bad news" and "more bad news"
For me, this is episode was them at their best, one location no other cast, just good writing and riffing
I know what you mean, that's why I love the Carnival episode. The opening of that is brilliant.
"Not sure what I'm gonna fill the bottom hole with..." LOL you might wish to rephrase that before you get the wrong sort of suggestions!
Haha lol true.
@@AfterWorkReactions Bottom has several live shows which are fantastic.
Rik and Ade would be proud of that line :)
The bit where he says he has a photographic memory then gives them that weird look cracks me up...still one of my favourite bits from Bottom 😂😂😂
I was lucky enough to see two of their live shows. Just laughed until I cried!
That is awesome, sounds like they would have been fun!
Nice. I got to one of thier live shows, actually in Hammersmith.😁🖖
My all time favourite show , so nice to see someone over the pond appreciate the genius of Rick and Ade , R.I.P Rick
Stork margarine competition winning caption, "I like Stork margarine because I'VE ONLY GOT ONE LEG!"
Clever bastard!
U said "not sure what I'm gonna fill this bottom hole with"
Rik Mayall would have loved that one!!! Hahaha Xxx
Replace it with THE YOUNG ONES they made that show before this and it changed how sitcoms were made forever!
No matter what else those actors/comedians do, they will always be Mike, Neil, Vyvyan and Rick to me.
The Young Ones is still amongst my favourite TV of all time. Rick and Vivian butting heads was always hilarious...and Neil....I still quote Neil, 35 years after I first saw TYO.
Vivian had THE greatest entrance of any TV character of all time....bar none.
Filthy Rich and Catflap was in between.
Bottom is better than Young Ones. Deal with it
You haven't finished yet, You still have the live shows to watch.
WOWWWWW! SOUTHAMPTON!
“Now listen here, you’re just a door... I’m RIK FUCKING MAYEL!”
@@MolloyPolloy why did you ever leeeeave??!
"Bad News" is a must. Two parts of that one. It's their own Spinal Tap type "rockumentary".
Love Bad News and Bad News 2!
" I am the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix"
... and that was when the audience stormed the stage.
Bad News pt. 2 is incredible
HELL BENT by Pookiesnackenburger was way way better...better music aswell, and around the same year aswell, its on youtube check it out!!
This is one of those shows where it's sort of difficult to replace because there is nothing like it
British comedy best in the universe
Eddie’s hysterical laugh at 8:21 😂😂
9:21 RIP Rik Mayall.
You've some of the most insane episodes coming. Terror and Finger are classics!
Oh god, he's gone all Welsh on me again. HAVE YOU GOT ANY MORE EXPLODING CARROTS?!!!
The xmas, halloween, gasman, ferris wheel and the hotel episodes were the looniest of all.
When you’ve finished Bottom you could watch Guest House Paradiso which has Rick and Adrian. It’s very similar to Bottom as it uses the same characters 🙂💗 xx
Guest House Paradiso is one of the funniest movies I've ever watched.
One of the best bottle episodes oat
One of the funniest ever episodes of Bottom.
Cup tie chaos would refer to a football match

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID
best comedy show ever, rik mayall was a genius
A cup tie is just a game of football/soccer where you win a cup instead of the league is what you win.
Thanks bud!
A Cup-tie is a football (soccer) match in a knockout tournament to win a trophy traditionally shaped like a cup. Think NFL playoffs.
Ok thanks for the info bud!
@@AfterWorkReactions you're welcome, mate. The chaos bit is, I think, is up to your own interpretation of what these two degenerates are capable of. You will enjoy the live shows, I wasn't lucky enough to see them live but I still use lines from the third one today.

"The Young Ones", same cast near enough, same wacky stuff plus some music thrown in.
Very dated with wierd musical performances in the middle.
There are the live shows of bottom - about 3 and 1.5 hrs long ish each
Cup Tie Chaos to me as a Brit , I think of soccer, FA cup, the premier knockout club soccer competition, and the chaos being the hooliganism that did sometimes occur in the crowd during the 70's to 90's especially. These days modern all seater stadia and CCTV has largely eradicated the problem.

Rest in peace Rick x

Surely you've done Guest House Paradiso right? a rare occasion where the film lived up to the TV show. Appreciate the vids man.
You should watch Guest House Paradiso after you’re done with Bottom. They did a feature film where Eddie and Richie own a hotel.
Young ones will fill that hole lol.
Love the channel man, keep up the good work✊🏴
His face when Eddie said paint stripper

best episode
Aw man what an episode 😂😂
The live stage performances are perfection weapons grade underpants
Hey, there are the Bottom Live shows after this, full stage Plays!
Also Guest House Paradiso!
There are five Bottom Live shows, all about two hours long. There's also a film from 1999. So you've got a while yet!
At the end when they start praying and Ritchie says pray to good old c of e he means Church of England (just incase that was one of the things you might not of understood properly)

As a number of people have suggested - the Young’ ones is pretty much the same cast and same humour.
More surreal though.
This is the episode I remember most as a kid. Still good 😄
“Men behaving badly” would be a great Show to start after this
Season 2 onwards obv. ;)

I didn’t know they did a remake... I’ll have to check that out 👍🏻
@@boli2746 yes, Harry Enfield's 1st series was a bit quieter, wasn't it.
Set the tone though.
After season 3 you have to watch the live shows (which are on youtube in full) and the movie "guest house paradiso"

Look for the Dangerous Brothers. Same guys, same mad slapstick. Probably the predecessor to Bottom.
What about the rest of season 3?
Brilliant episode ... one of my favourites !

You fill the Bottom hole with the Young Ones. Yes, I just said that...

He did. Unintentionally brilliant.
"It stinks though..." Lol!
Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer are hilarious in “House of Fools”
Spilling out the emergency bitter was a truly unhappy moment.
Ví la serie en su época, primeros de los 90 en una televisión española, COMO ME REI!!!!!!! LOL !!!!

Also the young ones. It's a sort of prequel to bottom with Rick and Aid in it.
We sow the seed, nature grows the seed and we eat the seed
Filthy Rich and Catflap was more of a prequel.
See Bottom Live Shows. Great interacting with crowd.
