The owner of these cars is a man of culture and taste. He could have bought Ferraris, or McLarens, but spent it like a proper bloke on some sub zero bespoke cars. I like it.
Most likely owns them too ;)
He doesn't actually. We've built four cars for him. He has a good few others but absolutely nothing you'd call a supercar. I think the closest he has to something like that is an old AMG C63 507 edition. Everything else is old and cool
These cars were the "every man" car, it doesn't make them less appealing or even less collectable, there is a picture of me with my brother and my cousin i am about a year old sitting on the roof of a Cortina MK1, it had a Lotus engine, but wasn't a Lotus Cortina, my dad told me later, that car scared him... i am still fascinated by the rear light cluster. beautiful.
This type of thing is where my lottery millions would go. You can keep your modern Ferrari's/Astons et-al.
What a lovely surprise coming accros this channel. So laid back and well presented back I felt at home from minute one.
Loving the more regular uploads - they are appreciated.
Same here thanks guy's
Personally, I think you hit all your targets with the car especially the 60's Nascar style, very Ford Galaxie. Great job guys.
Really appreciate these videos. Thanks for taking the time to share your simply stunning work!
Harry’s Garage, Project Binky and you guys - the trinity for UK car connoisseurs on UA-cam 👍
As always, lovely, thoughtful build... thanks for sharing your work & taking the time to film
Outstanding work Callum, you and your team take the cars to another level. Love it.
That’s a fantastic representation of the quality work you guys do....
Glorious, superb, amazing. I am so envious of the customers and fascinated by the build quality and amazing attention to detail.
I love this channel. Please keep it up.
Thank you for doing an exclusive talk through on the Costina. What a beautiful car. If this proud owner does indeed use it as a daily driver, it will undoubtedly turn heads. Looking forward to your test drive, stay safe lads!
Absolutely incredible work on the Cortina, I really enjoyed that video very well-made.
Love the attention to detail. Very impressive, well thought out build.
Princess discs was always a good upgrade in the old days.My dad had 2 mk1 Lotus Cortinas in the60's when they were disposable-Sold one to a work colleague who didn't close the bonnet properly and folded it over the windscreen!Lovely job.
I love just clicking on to hear you describe the effort you go to, wonderful wonderful work, now with computer-aided accuracy. Lovely. always love the understated colours and the no bumper & blacks....neat.
Stunning work,a retro take in a modern era....this car is just jaw dropping.Well done!!
Love the work you guys do, and the video B-rolls are great too, many thanks and please keep it coming :)
Wonderful as usual, The details are stunning
The way the Retropower crew use "nice(ly)" is an understatement in itself.
Thanks for the tour of this superd little car.
Very interesting and thank you for answering a question I had from Harry's video in which he suggested that it wasn't going to be road legal and only used for track events. Cheers
As always, simply magnificent.
Very useful to have an "in-depth" tour. This is my favourite Retropower car.
Only the guys from Retropower could make a grey car look stunning. Thanks for the videos. Cheers.
That cortina is simply stunning, great work guys 👍
Absolutely brilliant team👏👏👏. Love a Cortina ( Corka ) 🇦🇺
You guys have done a fantastic job, how I like old classics restored (within reason). Well earned coffee:)
Having owned an original Lotus MK1 Cortina back in the seventies, This build is an amazing example of the Cortina. Thank you only if . lol
Nicely understated is very modest. The vehicles you build should be eligible for an automotive design award. The design and planning behind these builds is innovative and inspiring. Thanks guys.
Thanks, that's very kind of you
Just amazing guys love how much detail you share and show us you don't run a restoration garage you run a rolling art gallery each build takes the level up.one day when I win the lottery im having you build me 2 mķ2 escorts 1 Honda vtec powered stratos silver harrier then 1 bonkers wide arch ultra low audi rs3 powered 4x4 monster leave a space in your diaries guys😉👌👊
Man Oh Man! What a beautiful car! And besides the good looks, the engineering ideas are super-impressive! Truly, top-shelf build! Welldone fellas!
Love the regular videos
Cheers guys
thank you for your cooly understated description of a great project...
That is bloody gorgeous. A work of art.
Great build guys. The owner is a bloody lucky sod
Stunning work!
Spotted the Cortina and your other cars at Prescott on Harry’s Garage. Looked lovely.
Done a fantastic job with that, Really nice love it.
Beautiful work from the Retropower crew. That two door Mk1 "Corti" reminds me of a Mk1 GT500 that a mate of mine owned back in 1968, we used to compete in Rally events, such a nice little car that went like a scalded cat.
You must be Aussie...those gt500'S were (partly) built by Craig Lowndes dad
@@stephenscholes4758 correct, and an old Aussie. I did think that the GT500 was unique to Australia. It was a great little beast but the body structure weaknesses showed up pretty quickly on some of the Rally forest trails. Didn't know about the connection with Lowndes's dad... every day's a school day.
Enjoying the updates greatly. I had a Mk2 column change with the lovely webasto roof. Slow as a wheelchair but loved it. Would love to see a build of an Anglia 105 estate. Such a great shape. Mate of mine back in the day had one with a skull head gear knob. legend.
Another stunning piece of work 👌🏻😎
Absolutely wonderful , wonderful car, real taste , i love this car ,great build ,coupled with your finest quality work as always .
Absolutely stunning car guys. Love the colour
I am a simple man, when I see an episode of Retropowercars or Bad Obsession Motorsport I stop everything I make a cup of tea and I click LIKE !!
Loving this build.
Undoubtedly, it’s a masterpiece in its own class.
Awesome work and content, much appreciated
So much attention to detail. I also saw the cars in Harry's video.
Awesome job guys
attention to detail is incredible
Great looking car great finish very taste fully done well done from down under.
fantastic work
Great work!!
Congrats, beautifully daone cars, and great info on all. Must see theses cars being put through its paces. Want to see Gordon Murray's Escort on the track.
Stunning!! I'd have that and the Alfa over any Aston or McLaren. Beautiful work!
Wow what a lovely car amazing craftsmanship excellent
Excellent vid. I’d love to see a similar on the jag!
Fitting a full roll cage to my 105E made a huge difference in body stiffness, as beforehand jacking up one corner I had to really yank (jerk) the door open and not a hope of getting it closed again.
With cage fitted ALL the flex was gone and best of all was a lap of Kyalami nearly 2seconds up when I raced there in the early ‘70s.
Umbrella brake handle.
Speed box from speed hut. Brilliant! Just what I need. Sees price and cries.😢
4 dislikes? Seriously? How the hell anyone can dislike the work these guys do is beyond me.😖 I love this Cortina. My 1602 BMW is much the same in a lot of ways, albeit built on about a tenth of the budget and more a DIY build. The ethos and look is much the same though. I just need a lotto win to have RP build me another. 😀
You can appreciate the skill and work but not admire the choices made in terms of colour, stance, trim etc...for instance I absolutely love the mechanicals of their Cortina but not such a fan of it's overall "look" - too boy-racer...the Murray Escort is great because it is soooo understated
Lovely car, fond memories of the 1965 Mk1 that I owned for a few years, circa 1973/75.
That would be my dream car! I always regret parting with my Mk1 more years ago than I care to remember!
Fantastic class build
Such a nice looking car
Beautiful resto
Amazing work and what a car 😀 you should do a video on what cars you guys drive .Keep up the great content .
Can't wait for a video of it being driven
Beautiful car top job gents 👌👍
Quality TV guys. Great production. The cars not bad either...
That’s why you’re the boss - smarts... make really bad tea and coffee so everyone else wants to step in and do it for you! 😉
The detail like the hydraulics and screen wash reservoirs are beautiful.
amazing car, love the gear lever
I saw the cars in Harry's video and immediately recognized them as Retropower projects. It would be fun if you could do a joint video where he test drives them.
Nice, like the way they have used alternative, yet Ford parts for this essentially unique Cortina! I reckon tho' I would probably want a shorter gearstick! And a very clean funnel to fill those fluid reservoirs, so as not to strip the paint in that lovely engine bay. love the suspension mods, subtle, but radical! Sierra disks on the rear with Fiesta MK2 front calipers. Lovely! Nice explanation about the original door skin cap ,and new sheet metal lower! Likin' it!
A thing of beauty.
The cortina is amazing would love it in my garage
Yet another good video.
By any chance, will you be doing a more in-depth look at the XJC at some point?
Love retro cars, love Harry's garage and love Tyrell. Can't tell you how much you and them chill me out.
Perhaps see if your customers would allow Harry to do a little drive, I'd love to know how your cars drive and how they compare to the originals.
Superb!👍
Top job 👍
JUST AMASING, I LOVE IT. GREETINGS FROM PORTUGAL.
Excellent 👌
It was a treat seeing some Retropower cars out in the wild in the Harry's Garage video. Keep up the good work!
Very nice retromod. An Avenger or Marina done in a similar vain would be very cool. Thanks
Fantastic build. not much to go but it look amazing as it is.
Almost perfection, the one big missing thing is my name on the log book 😥.... A beautiful first class job.....
Another Great bit of engineering from RP.
If you guys were near me, I would hound you for a Job, until you gave me one😁
great work - looks the mutts nuts
Would love to see a road test when ready!
What a Cortina👍.
Oh my god I want it. Who on earth gave this a thumbs down!?
The best car ever!
I would like to see the finished car before the lucky owner collects it or you deliver it! A great car👍
Superb!
O.M.G....💥💥💥,,Mk1 CORTINA..is Perfect...
Good morning, once again, beautiful paint work. Is that waterborne basecoat system or petroleum basecoat. It really looks great. The upgraded chassis and suspension is extremely fascinating. These cars at the Goodwood races are quite impressive. They manhandle a lot more horsepower with finesse and style. Thanks for the great video. Can't wait for more. Take care.
Looks well scalextric. Wicked
stunning
Yes,,long ago,,,Your version 💯💥💯
Utterly beautiful, sad really but as I watched I was thinking how I would have mine built if I suddenly got rich. pre airflow but with the airflow dash, silver steel wheels with hub caps, bumpers.... otherwise the same as this. Well done to you all, as an old boy I remember how fun these cars could be with modded suspension and more power, yours goes far beyond.
Beautiful work, my only gripe is that it is not mine!
Great car!!!
