ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.

Would love to see a video on Maneskin!
Reasons I like this band: That and this, these and those
Underrated comment.
Tastes like gold
I'm laughing way too hard at this comment
@@WexMajor82 your comment made me laugh
Reasons and logic 🤩
This album is one of the all time greatest production jobs
20 years later, I'm still listening.
It's an all time classic.
I’ll tell you why it’s great: The groove. Everybody’s locked in with each other. And Josh Homme’s vocals are so friggin’ SMOOTH.
And Dave
That’s a very astute observation regarding Elvis, Josh is referred to by many admirers as the ‘Ginger Elvis’ 😁
I was hoping to find this comment somewhere on here.
Elvis is now known as the brunette Josh.
Just love Josh's voice!
One of those rare rock vocalists that consistently sounds as good live as in studio.
I need to see you melt when you hear Queens Of The Stone Age - make it wit chu.
YES! Live from Open'er festival 2013. I swear there must've been a baby boom in Poland 9 months after that performance!
Honestly that song is ✨baby making sauce ✨
The Desert Sessions version perchance?
Fun fact the drums and cymbals were recorded separately. Dave recorded the bass drum, snare and toms. Then play just the cymbals so cymbals wouldn't bleed into the close mics. Yet you would never know by listening to the song. When I learnt of this it blew me away. It's such a good song on of my favourite QOTSA songs.
Its stands out during several drumfills though.
Its impossible to do a double time drumroll while keeping a ride or a cymbal going on 4×4 with just 2 hands 😉
@@dennisvanopstal7360 there was video I've seen where Dave played the cymbal parts on pads while doing the rest of the drums before doing the cymbals so it must be achievable some how
@@dennisvanopstal7360 it's definitely not impossible to play tbe song lol
@@para4902 playing the song , ofcourse not lol
Didnt say that 9 months ago either.
I was talking about the fills.
You go ahead and play triplets or 16th notes while keeping a ride so even as on the record live.
You cant
And if you check out the rick beato video about this song he plays the different stems.
You hear it.
Wow, a QOTSA review?? Never expected this!
I Appear Missing should be next.
Josh Homme's been my icon. I'm a big boy with a pretty voice I can range all over with and he's an example of it working. I've always been embarrassed about not having a raspy baritone. He shows that fry isn't necessary.
Oh my lord Queens of the Stone Age are one of the best bands of the last twenty years and they are criminally underrated. Thanks for checking this one out. Their song Lost Art of Keeping A Secret is another great one to check out.
underrated? you mad bro? when villains came out, all i saw was billboards of it everywhere. the tune was on every radio
They should be BIGGER!
I dont know about the best in 20 years if we have something like radiohead
@@kinematograficznie both iconic bands in my mind
Love love love this song. My favorite part of the video is Lanegan sitting in the back seat, stone faced. I miss that dude.
Josh homme’s formed Kyuss when he was 12. If you’re interested in his other projects you should defiantly listen to Kyuss and Those crocked vultures.
Respect for Kyuss bro....if u arent a gen xer massive respect for knowing
Erm.... it's "Them Crooked Vultures"....
them
Also absolutely killed it with Mavis Staples on RTJ4's "Pulling the Pin". Simple, gritty, haunting. Totally unexpected, but in no way surprising. Legends.
Josh Homme's sexiness is unmatched. There's just something about him.
I totally agree with that statement 🥰
guurrrrrrr baby very guuurrrrr
I think Rebecca has him beat! :)
He's got some gigantic hands too...
As a manly man I agree
I forgot Dave Grohl did drums for this album 😮. SUCH AN AMAZING MUSICIAN ALL AROUND!!!
This is still one of the most eclectic productions ever put to record, with an entire album exploring a wide range of styles, textures, and influences. The third time really was the charm for the Queens because everyone brought their A-game to Songs for the Deaf.
This song gives me chills it is so well done. I love your taste in music and how much you appreciate and hear the same things that put the tingle in my bones as well. Thanks, Rebecca, for sharing yourself and your musical ear with us all!
Thank you, UA-cam algorithms, for recommending this. I don’t think Homme gets enough props for his vocals. This was nice to see.
You are not annoying, that's annoyed me. You are bubbly for a reason, it's you as a beautiful personality, you're an amazing young woman....and so god damn pretty !.
Love this track......head bang heaven !. Dave Grohl is an absolute legend, brilliant musician and so funny.
As always.....love and deep hugs, our gurl 💖 💓 💗 💕 ❤ ♥ 💖 💓 💗 💕
queens is one of my favorite bands! i appreciate this analysis. i’d love to see more from radiohead as well though. thom yorke’s vocal talent isnt on display as much on creep as it is on their other material. nude or true love waits are pretty great
Crrrackin tune for sure!! Josh has a style all his own, QOTSA, Kyuss or Eagles of Death Metal he just exudes rock...turn that shizzle up!! 🤘☮️🤘
plsssss bring us something about Mark Lanegan, Hangin Tree or Song for the Dead live, pls pls
If you dig QOTSA you should definitely check out Josh's older band Kyuss. John Garcia Kyuss's singer has one of the best rock voices. I'd love to hear your opinion of him!
Kyuss remains one of the most underrated bands of the ‘90’s
John Garcia is awesome, I can't believe that I've seen him live three times down at the bottom of the world here in NZ (with Kyuss Lives, Unida & his solo acoustic tour).
Kyuss was amazing, but Garcia sucks. That band with a real singer would have rocked the world. Thank god Josh took on that job as well.
@@smilie-pm9gb Opinions are like assholes!
Now go and love Rick Beato's QOTSA "What Makes This Song Great" video. Perfect companion to Lady Rebecca.
check out the band 'them crooked vultures'. Josh Homme, Dave Group on drums and John Paul Jones from Led zep on bass. Incredible album
*Dave group* yeah that one guy from *nirpana*
I've seen a couple of vocal coaches react to josh, and it's been an eye opener. I love qotsa, but never really rated josh as a singer. Now I realise that he's not only an amazing lyricist but a good singer too
Thank you for this! Haven't listened to "No One Knows" for way too long. Think I'll put 'Songs for the Deaf' on repeat tonight :D.
One of the best albums from the 2000's
Yeeesssss!! I F'ing love this song and video!! Have for many years, but I think you're is my favourite reaction. And I've seen loads!! It's mostly your appreciation for that epic drum/guitar/bass solo that has always and still blows my mind!!
Overall great analysis by the way. Send a lot of people talk shit, appreciate your humility and realness. In fact this has made me decide to subscribe
Thanks darling 😘
A great QOTSA tune to do a reaction to is "The Vampire of Time and Memory." GREAT vocal performance from Josh on that one.
Yessss
The whole Like Clockwork album is perfection. I'd love to see her do a reaction to 'I Appear Missing' or I Sat By The Ocean' too
That live conan performance, amazing!
I love this song. "Little Sister" is another favorite from them, and it really shows a very different range and style for Josh Homme's vocals.
Agree!
Love that song 🥳🥰
COWBELL!!! 😆
That's a very typical style of vocal for Josh Homme, and it is great
QOTSA are an absolutely amazing band. Glad to see a review
Bought this album and listened to it for years in a car with blown speakers. First time I heard it in the new car, that whisper line came on and I just about went through the roof, checked the back seat because I kneeeeew someone was in the car with me. Eventually I heard the other whispering and realized what was up, but that was an intense minute for me.
Song for the dead will shake your heart
Rrrrebecca! You owe it to yourself to listen to this whole album front to back. It really is a classic! 🤘☝❤
Lookin just as beautiful as i remember
One of my all time favourite songs and before even seeing him I knew that was Dave (🤤🤤) on drums! Hell of a song!
Josh’s voice is so underrated. It’s like honey. The whisper is Nick I think. Interesting to see this sort of video after being a QOTSA fan for so long!
It is Lanegan :)
@@dennmcambley3813 nope its nick oliveri, they all bet on what words he would whisper
I actually never heard this song before...thanks a bunch!
Check out their album Like Clockwork, it's incredible.
@@littleredhen8205 Indeed, almost every track is a home run
@@darrenverni3662 Definitely a "Homme" run!👌
@@larrybstreetfish5852 Ahh..I see what you did there haha, very clever sir..
@@darrenverni3662 😁😜
For the 1st time I don't feel like the craziest music fan around. Thank you, little Sister.
Let's just make this perfectly clear. Unlike me, YOU ARE NEVER ANNOYING!!! We love you and your reactions. Cheers!
Ahhh haha thanks. 😄
@@rva now if I could just get you to react to Neil Fallon of Clutch...hmmm 🤩
2 decades and people still sleeping on this band, so underrated 🤷♂️🤷♂️
My first album from them was Lullabies to Paralyze and I kind of picked it up as a recommendation. I'd heard No One Knows on the radio for years but never understood how talented this band was - lyrically, composition wise, and vocally - until I heard that album. I still love their music. They are so underrated it is insane.
Been awhile since I've been here but wow its such a treat after going without. luv ur musical analysis and the way you express yourself! your glowing I swear.
You’re amazing. I love your honesty, passion and transparency. No ego. Just love of music.
Much love and health to you and yours.
I love this song. I always forget that Dave played the drums. So much fun seeing him play those again. Have a great week Rebecca!
Dave had Josh Homme on his Sound City album. The song "Centipede " is really good. Give it a listen for me 🙂
Been in that funny place multiple times. It's a state of trance. My place to be when I go weird on the canvas.
One of the few songs that I've found that completely compelle people to sing along with it.
The gents voice sounds amazing live also, and that's sometimes rare..
Been watching u for years. Seeing u do Another great ROCK band forced my hand to finnaly subscribe! Keep the Rock rolling my darling😄
"SHE'S ALREADY PRETTY ANNOYING!"...
SHE'S PRETTY...TAKE OUT THE ANNOYING! 🥰
3:29 That whisper comes in and out through most of the song, and it's honestly one of the many details that makes the song work so well as a whole!
I get it, the music is a landscape, you can see the grand vistas, smell the earth, feel the wind and the sun of it. You want to exist in it, move around and swim in it. Yes.
Drinking water today. Great song, and Dave is just so damned talented.
Heard this song a thousand times and never picked up the whisper... good ear!!!
I just love your reactions
I love watching your videos! You have the best sense of humor!
This song is a banger, and I think what you're describing a lot in this video is the work of the mixer. He or she does a lot to make every part of the performance sound "tight", and they definitely deserve a lot more appreciation than they get. Electronic artists, for example, aren't necessarily famous for their writing ability. The world class electronic artists do very good sound design, and then they put their mixing and mastering hats on and crush that job. Shout out to all the mixers and sound engineers in the world.
Cannot listen to this without air drumming, especially before the bass solo
No One Knows (until now): Between your commentary throughout the video, those glasses, the shirt falling off your shoulder and your overall charisma.. it makes me want to get up & yell fish n chips while dancing 😍
Hello Rrrrrrrrbecccccaaa! I always love your reviews, but this one in particular bought back fond memories! Ive been DJ-ing electronic music since 2000....and with a grunge rock back ground! It was about 2004 and day three of an electronic music festival that I was performing at. After three days of DOOF DOOF OONST OONST music and right At the end of my DOOF DOOF set I played this tune!! They came running from the hills and the energy was incredible! Keep up the crakin tunes aye x
Lovely as always. Keep being you, Rebecca. No one else can, and you do it so well anyway.
In my top three favorite bands of all time. So different and so rock n roll!
7:53 'Look at his head falling off.......' LOLLZZZZ. PMSL so much my beer went up me 'ooter!!
A grand reaction to a great foot-tapper. :)
Great vid Rebecca, you have an amazing knack of picking a song to listen to that suits my mood at the right time. Drinks wise , a glass of Pinot Grigio and a Kronenburg, it's Friday don't look at me like that :p
Initially, even though he wrote the lyrics for some Kyuss songs, he didn't want to sing. (Donald Fagan of Steely Dan was the same.) It was only after others telling him to sing his own work that he started, and he became an icon for it. Nobody else sings like he does. Listen more closely - You mention the whispers, but listen also for the layered growls, and screams that are down in the mix. He never overplays them - They're just subtle background details that add to the whole.
The whispering over certain parts of the song makes me think about Riders On the Storm
Josh is the reason I started singing in the first place! Love all his stuff, great vid!!
Oh, popping in for No One Knows. The production! The orchestration in the background! The grunt! Almost 20 Years now Oo Cool watchalong, thanks 😁
So glad you’re back
Love your channel
Your analysis is thought-provoking and provocative as always.
Gin and blackberry sparkling water. One of my favorite bands ever
Josh Homme, a.k.a The Ginger Elvis. No One Knows is an anthem, and has collaboration of Mark Lanegan. Teacher, you gotta make a video on Mark. His work with Screaming Trees, his solo albums, his work with QOTSA. His voice is so beautiful and impactant, sounds like Leo Cohen and Tom Waits.
That whisper and back up vocals is Dave Grohl. He also sang back up in Nirvana, just as Taylor Hawkins sings back up in Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl’s “ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh” make this song a little more haunting
I’m drinking iced tea called Blueberry Bounty. It has hibiscus and blueberries and monk fruit. It’s made by the Republic of Tea and it’s delicious!
I was thinking of this band just yesterday... But I couldn't for the life of me remember the band's name! 😂 Thanks!
Finally a Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows reaction by my favorite reacter
It was a big surprise for me to see you reacting to this band. They are great.
This particular QOTSA song slays because it’s basically a 1960s psychedelic tune put through a punkifier and synched up with digital quantisation. This is just about the only record I like what’s so quantised.
QOTSA have been tops of my list since I first heard them like 20 years ago.... Welcome to Rock n Roll
Love your channel for the variety of content and the interesting analysis always - it's nice to learn about new music and hear different vocal styles
I'm still a creature of habit though so have another Kpop suggestion🤪: i'd be interested to hear your analysis of the performance of IU Eight (에잇) by Eunbi, which she rearranged and came out a few weeks ago on Woollim The Live; many have said she has a unique vocal tone (i think especially promiment at 2:37 onwards)
Hope you're well 🤗
I saw them live at lollapalooza and I’ve been obsessed all these years later.
Qotsa is an inescapable under your skin itch you can't help but scratch. Brilliant
Love the appreciation of this song. I could never express so well why this song hits so good
God, the production on this record was AMAZING!
I'm enjoying a Michigan Based red wine called Witches Brew...it tastes like Fall. This song bought me the first drink and then "Go With the Flow" made me fall in love. Cheers RRRRebecca 🍷🍷
Mmm nice 👌
Ahh this is a gift, thank you ! Have the best evilning Green T !
Thanks bebe
Bang on......some songs, lyrics or voices take you into a different place. It cannot always be explained......you just know when it hits you.
Great reaction Reeeeebeckkkkkkaaaaaaa! Absolute classic song by QOTSA, second only to the song The Long Slow Goodbye. Love the vocal passion of that one. 👍🏼👍🏼
Well, Hello beautiful. I absolutely love your enthusiasm for what is my favourite QOTSA song. The world needs more people like you enjoying and sharing the love of good music.
Would love to see you react to and breakdown "a whiter shade of pale" by Procol Harum live in Denmark 2006 with the symphony. It's a true masterpiece and his voice is so soulful
Got to see them Live in like 2014, at the Hangout Music Festival in Alabama !! Such an AMAZING band !!
His voice. Sigh. It's just perfect. He's this good live, too. Fantastic band. Ridiculously underrated.
Found you from your Luis Miguel video and now you're reacting to my favorite band! Glad I subscribed hehe ❤️
Tea it is. Here you have to order it unsweetened. Ugh.
I want to be a "certain superfan or something." Nice, natural reaction video!
You know, I understand how hard this must have been. To analyse without bias. But it's such an amazing banger of a teach!!
Loved you approach!!
S€°t, then at the end of the video you invoke my top 4 of all time. So I have to support you! Qudos!! Lol 😁😎👌
I have followed Josh Homme through all of his projects. This was from circa 2001? Dave adds alot to songs for the deaf. There was alot of behind the scene footage of them screwing around in the studio, it looked like so much fun. This entire album flows like one continuous piece of art. I have to pull it back out, thanks for the reminder.
Yes baby Yes, ive been waiting for a QOTSA or Foo's reaction for a while now :)
You look extra beautiful in this one. Love that band. Thanks rrrrrrrrRebecca!
One of my favorite songs of all time.
BTW... Iced tea is my drink of choice for a summer afternoon. : )
