Hi everyone, I’ve noticed some negative reviews about the eco fuel saver, and I wanted to share my personal experience and offer a different perspective. A lot of people might not see a noticeable difference, but I believe that’s because the product’s true effectiveness is best observed over the entire course of a full tank, from full to empty. For example, I typically get around 400 miles out of a tank of gas (19.5 gallons). Using the eco fuel saver, I expect to gain about 60 extra miles per tank-around a 15% increase. However, this difference can be subtle if you don't drive your car down to empty. In my case, I may only see around 45 extra miles if I haven’t drained the tank completely. I understand why some people might not notice a dramatic difference, but I believe it’s important to take this into account before making a judgment. It’s easy to miss these savings if you don’t monitor your mileage over the entire tank. Hopefully, this adds a bit of context for others considering the device." Regards, Jim L
Thanks for the wonderful review ! I think I'll just stick with my flux-capacitor - it's been working great since 1985 and my gas mileage REALLY takes off when I hit 88 mph ! I think that's because it was made in America, where we can SPELL English and our reset buttons don't get hot after 6 seconds !
Actually, If i remember correctly, all Deloreans were built in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Britain in a purpose built factory largely funded by a British business investment programme intended to provide jobs to the local Northern Irish workforce and reduce violence between Belfasts Protestant and Catholic communities as they would be working side by side in the plant. Was John Deloreans pipe dream disaster from start to finish and cost the British a fortune. Though I do genuinely believe the flux capacitor will at least match these EcoOBDs in function and performance and you probably have as much chance of one of them transporting you to 1955 as saving you even a drop of fuel. 🤣
Are you using petrol, or Mr. Fusion (Trash)? If trash, then this is not an issue for you. If you are using petrol, they claim no change until after you have driven over 200 km. There is no way that they can resemble that. My question is, if the lights stay on when the vehicle is off for a period of time, will it drain the battery enough at some reasonable point to make it unable to start the vehicle?
I have an obd tuner program for the landrover td5 ecu. Not all are able to be flashed, depends on the ecu variant. Some other vehicles can be flashed via the ecu. I've no doubt this eco device is crap, (it may even be doa), but the chances of any of them doing anything worthwhile is slim to none.
i got one of these and was suspicious from the get go. After putting it in and setting it up i was surprised to see it stays on flashing with car off and keys in the house. it never shuts off putting a small drain on the battery.
@@Kgio-2112 the devise is junk . The obd 2 system in auto runs the best and most efficient fuel economy . If this really worked it would be incorporated in all cars . I opened it up and it's nothing but 2 flashing led lights and a 777 timing chip. Does absolutely nothing.
Does the ECU send data on the CAN bus (or anything on this port) without receiving a request for it? If not, then this test seems valid: Regardless of how far you drive, this unit would not do anything different because it could not be aware of how far you drive.
I tried that crappy $60 device (yeah, I fell into the hype, sadly!) and found out that it drains your battery, as it flashes red and green, even when the ignition is OFF and the key is outta the ignition, and even when you lock your car doors! You can easily see the flashing red/green, at night time, under the steering wheel! I will be returning it, post haste, for a full refund! I never even tried it out, as I was searching for why it flashes red/green when the car is off, and that is when I stumbled upon 3 or more videos saying this device is a scam! Thanks for posting!

Great detailed explaination, I almost went to buy this thing. But in my country there's an agent that selling these original devices (nitroobd2 malaysia), and most of the customer feedback was positive as it save fuel and increase the torque or pickup of their respective vehicle. Can you share some of your thought about this as I'm curios about it.
Most people don't take detailed logs of fuel economy, so it's easy to believe that you have gains. As for HP/torque, anything under 10% is almost invisible to the driver, so without a back to back dyno run its just the placebo effect. If I sold a rock (with a blinky light) that promised FE/HP gains but only after 150miles of driving I would get the same feedback. People just want to believe that it can work.
Do this, take off the negative cable of your battery for 30 seconds then reattach. What that does is reboot your car's ECM. Hopefully that'll get you back to 40 mpg...
Nothing that costs $10 has a real ELM327 chip. ELM charges quite a bit for one of their genuine chips. Anything with a real one is going to cost at LEAST $50. I'm guessing you're either European, or own European cars because you've made some incorrect assumptions. Any device with an OBD2 port must respond on the basic serial channel as well as any proprietary bus the manufacturer uses, such as CAN or SAE J1850 PWM. That's likely why you didn't get any reply from the device, your "Vehicle emulator" was incomplete. Not that I don't think this thing is a complete scam. Real performance/eco ECM tuner hardware (Eg Hypertech) is specific to particular vehicles and uses updated fuel maps specifically for that vehicle. I think you're right in your guesses that this either fakes a sensor input (IAT is a great guess) or tries to trigger EPA mode, or both.
I've seen a model of these that just resets the ECU via a timer on the chip.So by doing that and the placebo effect people have (sad to say) seen some minor increases. But its not the best thing for your car to do.
Most times trims richen things up over time especially if someone uses a low grade gas. It's pretty rare that I saw a car under normal condition pull fuel unless there was another issue. So between this and the placebo affect is where there's a small chance for someone to see a "increase"especially if they are driving in a more MPG friendly manor.
I have one in my desk drawer, and would love to do a video but I want to address some of the criticism when I do. I plan on creating an isolated CAN bus that receives all the signals from my actual car so I can see any signals this device produces while attached to a real car and not a simulation.
Well I put 1 on my 97 ram 4x4 5.2....was getting about 13.5 mpg....put 4 gallons in went 58 miles..that dosen't work out to13.5mpg..what up with that??
I put one on my Ford Expedition 2008. I was getting 12 miles to the gallon. I ordered one from Amazon now I get 15 miles per gallon. I've had no issues whatsoever. Hell 3 miles extra per gallon, I'll take it.
This doesn't answer any questions..... Why couldn't you just put it in your car and drove like 100 miles? That's only way to get a real good reading....
I will say upfront that I think using these, tuners as they are called, are a bad idea. The risk/reward is not worth it. That said, A car warranty is rarely voided. I worked for the Customer Service Division of a major auto manufacturer for years. I can count on one hand the times I saw a vehicle with an actual voided warranty due to a modification the customer made to the vehicle. The company cannot refuse warranty service on a vehicle unless they can prove the device caused the needed warranty repair. That is the rub. They can refuse your repair and then you are stuck going after them in court or through arbitration. So, they do have the upper hand. However, there is something called the Magnusson-Moss warranty act of 1986. Lawyers often use it, and I am paraphrasing here, because if they go to court and prove the manufacturer illegally denied, what the court determines is a legitimate warranty claim, you can receive up to triple damages plus reasonable attorney's fees. Another option you have is the BBB auto arbitration program. You can ask for your claim to be put in front of group of independent arbitrators. The program is free. A group of people with experience dealing with vehicle repair and/or arbitration will review your case. However, you will have to prove to them that the device didn't hurt the vehicle. The manufacturer submits a written report, as do the dealer and you the customer. Another uphill battle, but not an insurmountable obstacle. At has been my experience that they tend to lean the direction of the customer on a coin toss case. Hope this helps.
I have a Honda Element 4 wheel drive. I installed yjis device 4 weeks ago and I went from getting 280 miles on 14 gallons to over 347 miles on the same amount. Best invention sense sliced bread
I reprogram my dodge truck through the obd2 using my smarty tuner. I can adjust speedometer, timing, fuel mapping etc. Yet people say it can't be done. The giant cloud of smoke and acceleration from my truck after programming says otherwise.
This is not actually a fair test, because the instructions on the packet states I Quote - ecoOBD2 will recognise your vehicle and your driving habits, after around 200 km/150 miles driving and thus ecoOBD2 will adjust itself to match your car perfectly for more fuel saving. This video did not drive for about 200 km's to be able to give a fair more accurate review, so really it could just work yet at the end of the day. I was recommended this by a friend, and bought one, I haven't yet used it though, however I have nothing to lose by testing it out and really seeing if it works after I'v driven it for over 200 km. Will get back to you with an update if I remember to.
I saw this dirt cheap, so I got one, wondering if it would actually work. If not, I'd just be out 5 bucks. Weill, the instructions, as you know, don't tell you dick all. I don't care about how it works, I just want to see results and... now that I've got this installed in an out of warranty 2003 car and driving it to work back and forth for almost a week. So far, I've noticed my gas usage has drastically reduced. I was expecting to fill up tomorrow, as I usually get about 4 to 4.5 days on one tank. Right now, I'm sitting at just over half a tank left. I can't explain it. If this kills my car, it's not a loss for me, so I can take the chance on this. But I'll hold off putting it into a newer car. I just wanted to mention the unexplained reduction of fuel consumption... and I don't noticed ANY performance issues either. Maybe I got one that actually works? I've seen these retail online for hundreds of dollars... those must be scams. The one I got, gives me positive results, so, who knows. lol Peace.
@@voidingwarranties8081 I think in previous testing you broke that thing... because I didn't see anything flashing like I have in other videos that they reset and stuff like that I think you got a faulty unit or you broke it... because yours doesn't act like the six other videos I've seen of people testing these. I think you need to get another unit and redo it.
Funny to read comments that says "thx. Saved my money"... Who the hell even had a second of thinking this could work... I bet you all are the same people who buy's all kind of junk that they sell on TV

You do realize this actually works but he didn't follow the instructions, right? Gave it to my cousin to use it on his gas spender 2012 Ford Explorer, after doing the real requirements for it to work, he now drives for like 30-50 km more.
On the back of my eco OBD2 THE DIRECTIONS SAY TAKE THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION. STICK THE KEY IN AND TWIST IT TO THE FIRST STAGE (DO NOT START THE CAR). PRESS THE RESET BUTTON FOR 5 SECONDS. AFTER RELEASING THE BUTTON ABOUT 30 TO 54 SECONDS YOUR ECHO OBD2 WILL COMMUNICATE AND ESTABLISH CONNECTION WITH THE ECU. START THE ENGINE,.. THE OBD2 WILL RECOGNIZE YOUR VEHICLE AND YOUR DRIVING HABITS AFTER AROUND 50 MILES OF DRIVING. THUS THE ECHO OBD2 WILL ADJUST ITSELF TO MATCH YOUR CAR PERFECTLY FOR MORE FUEL SAVINGS. I DON'T BELIEVE YOU DID ALL OF THESE STEPS.
I installed this on my car and when I hit 88 MPH I went back to 1955.. Great Scott.

@@DarknoorX Bullshit!!! If it can't communicate with the ECU it has no way of knowing how many miles the car has travelled. try again
Outsider dude.. It can.. It worked for my cousin's Ford Explorer 2012. I usually call bs on such tools but it did work
Brian Skene I don't have to. Get lost.
@@DarknoorX When you plug it in, The chips go nowhere, Its not even connected to the computer. LOL
I've seen a model of these that just resets the ECU via a timer on the chip.So by doing that and the placebo effect people have (sad to say) seen some minor increases. But its not the best thing for your car to do.
+SouthJerseySound And resetting the ECU often leads to worse fuel economy as it dial in the fuel trims.
Someone needs to sue that rocket scientist for fraud
And there is a NITRO OBD2, please can you make a video about it?
I have one in my desk drawer, and would love to do a video but I want to address some of the criticism when I do. I plan on creating an isolated CAN bus that receives all the signals from my actual car so I can see any signals this device produces while attached to a real car and not a simulation.
nice! I was thinking in buying one until I descovered you :)
I have a 2.2 197 HP diesel, is there a power box that does what it says?
with the pricing of the "good" ones, you may as well go for a custom remap (Y)
spend around 1k for a racing ecu thats totally programmable. thats about the only way. every car and modification would create differences.
Bully Dog, it works on all diesel motors. I used them in my semi truck and it was awesome!!!
It was interesting to see.
Good review 👍
This doesn't answer any questions..... Why couldn't you just put it in your car and drove like 100 miles? That's only way to get a real good reading....
You sell these? :D
It actually does do what it says. But it's only about 8 precent increase
Thanks for the info.
Good video, terrible audio. What's up with your microphone?
I have a Honda Element 4 wheel drive. I installed yjis device 4 weeks ago and I went from getting 280 miles on 14 gallons to over 347 miles on the same amount. Best invention sense sliced bread
I reprogram my dodge truck through the obd2 using my smarty tuner. I can adjust speedometer, timing, fuel mapping etc. Yet people say it can't be done. The giant cloud of smoke and acceleration from my truck after programming says otherwise.
That device is specifically built around your vehicle's ECU, not some "universal" device
thanks man..lucky im watching ur video before buy this lousy item..thumbs up!!
Wreck-it-Ralph could be inside of those .
You forgot but I'm sure it's cause it did nada or it killed your engine.
I bought a simlar device that is vehicle specific that works very well and saves me upward to 25% on fuel, I verify this with a scan gage.
What is the item
what did you buy OBD2? please advise bro. I'm considering
The one I got, gives me positive results, so, who knows. lol Peace.
very detailed thanks
If you like this, then check out my other video where I add new OBD2
PIDs to an existing car network:

@@voidingwarranties8081 I think in previous testing you broke that thing... because I didn't see anything flashing like I have in other videos that they reset and stuff like that I think you got a faulty unit or you broke it... because yours doesn't act like the six other videos I've seen of people testing these.
I think you need to get another unit and redo it.
"Chinese made" ....told me everything right there
Bet half the stuff you own is made in China though...
I bought 3 now I have a fuel garage I just can't use all I'm saving lol
Good video...
why doesnt someone just get a POS car and plug it in....
No reason to. The simulator flat out shows it doesn't communicate at all.
I have a 94 mustang GT stock with 215 horsepower.. so gave eco crap a chance.. put it in my car & I smoked a 2018 mustang 5.0 🤣🤣🤣
The only thing that this thing did was kill my battery, not even heavy to use as a paper weight
Funny to read comments that says "thx. Saved my money"... Who the hell even had a second of thinking this could work... I bet you all are the same people who buy's all kind of junk that they sell on TV
Junk probably screw the computer up if it sounds to good to be true it is
Will this drain the battery? The lights are flashing when the car is off. The car is driven less than 10 miles a day, if that. (A parent bought this and he hardly drives)
You watched this video and still left the thing plugged in??? 😐
@@adamtmiddleton9985 nope. I confiscated them and got his money back
How did you simulate 150 miles (200 km) before it starts working
dude... it wasn't even interacting with the computer.. get it?
Thanks.
I ONLY PADE £2.99P PLUGGED IT IN AND A LIGHT STAYED ON SO I UNPLUG IT JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE
Isn't it suppose to light up when plugged in? It's an indication that its actually working, well you can only hope lol
LEAVE IT PLUGGED, I DO AND NO PROBLEM IN DISCHARGING BATTERY. MINE DOES WHAT IT SAID IT WOULD AND MORE. TOO MANY INTELLIGENT PEOPLE HERE EXPERIMENTING AND THEY DO NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO TEST, TAKE APART OR HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF HOW A COUMPUTER MODULE WORKS AND THE INSIDE PARTS OF IT. IT IS ALL PURE HOGWASH VIDEOS. WHAT DOES THIS GUY KNOWS? IS HE AN ENGINEER ? BULL !!
@@ManuelPerez-gz3ky I would be curious to know what you've found that appears to work.
i really think about it all the day to buy the performance shitty chip but with this , i really know the truth lol , thanks a lot bro, although i know that the power increasing would be impossible with an item like this i got my doub, better i´ll start to safe money to modify the internals engine and then do a mapping complete over dyno lol regards
Find a review where someone actually plugs it into a car and tests it. This test is highly inadequate and proves nothing.
i have this ECO OBD2 in 1 of my cars and its working and making a difference.
r u sure
I fell for it too.
2 cylinder are running in state of 4 cylinder engine car it ran hell
Does it work on electric cars?
HI IN THE UK SOMEONE IS SELLING THEM FOR £40. THANK FOR THE INSIGHT.FROM J.
I bought 1 for £4 from eBay.
I have seen them at £2.56 ON EBAY. inc. free postage - whats the harm of trying for that!
My lawnmower does not have a OBD2 port.
thanks man! save my bucks!
You do realize this actually works but he didn't follow the instructions, right?
Gave it to my cousin to use it on his gas spender 2012 Ford Explorer, after doing the real requirements for it to work, he now drives for like 30-50 km more.
Good job bro can you please do it top auto accessory chip as well.
On the back of my eco OBD2
THE DIRECTIONS SAY TAKE THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION.
STICK THE KEY IN AND TWIST IT TO THE FIRST STAGE (DO NOT START THE CAR).
PRESS THE RESET BUTTON FOR 5 SECONDS. AFTER RELEASING THE BUTTON ABOUT 30 TO 54 SECONDS
YOUR ECHO OBD2 WILL COMMUNICATE AND ESTABLISH CONNECTION WITH THE ECU.
What is the name of this car ecu simulator in the video ?
chinese knock-off.
How i can make car simulator ecu ?
