Thank you so much for the mention!!! I never exactly thought I’d get very far with my goofy idea series, but here I am now!
For what your ideas were, I’ll go through them:
1. Crossplay I’d handle how you said so. PC and Console is a very huge gap for handling, so limiting it that way would be perfect.
2. For character quests, that would be pretty neat! It would give people an incentive to play around with characters they may not be great with in an interactive way, instead of embarrassing themselves online while they learn.
3. For custom lobbies/stream modes, those are a given. I was actually going to cover them as I got towards the gameplay, but I’m still going through variants lol.
4. The character mastery ideas sound a lot like GW1’s level-up system. There’s a fine line between making them too easy and grindy as hell, so if they were to be a thing, I’d make them just difficult enough to prevent XP farm cheese, forcing you to actually PLAY the character.
5. So, the backyard battleground stuff is literally the entirety of part two of my ideas, so I don’t feel the need to explain it all here lol. If you’re interested, I’d greatly appreciate it if you check it out!

Judging on how many new player GW 2 still gets, i could maybe, possibly see it happening in the near future, best we can do is hope
I know, it's like people know a good game when there's so many people willing to record and talk about it , the community is very passionate for this game
Judging by the reputation and quality of PVZ 3 and PVZ Match, it ain't gonna be anytime soon
I also heard the devs made Zombified versions of the Garden Warfare 1 Maps in a video, unfortunately they didn't release it in the full game + majority of them are incomplete, and maybe import the regular versions, (Gardens & Graveyards), to expand the nostalgia. Also make new Boss Hunts, even out the bosses on the Plants (since Zombies have more than the Plants' side), balance changes too.
The Zombified GW1 Maps would be great for GW3 I recently made a video about the zombified maps glad more people know about them.
Atleast one of them got in the game (the aquatic centre)

I def agree with uniqueness. I think part of why popcap removed variants in bfn is because they wanted to add new classes without making the game feel overcrowded. I love all the variants in gw2, but a lot of them are pretty similar and it makes it harder to regularly add new characters.
If there was a gw3, I think less but more unique variants per class would be a good shout
Good idea is that Torchwood variants should be other bosses Like: royal hypno flower and super bean
Also EA and Pop cap can just watch these videos and just code them in with no brainstorming

It would be cool for the backyard battleground that had different skins like one that's more in the garden warfare 1 style or just themes in general would be cool

They should bring back bossmode but make it more engaging and an actual playable aircraft type thing

They could bring back the Gravedigger he could be like the chomper for the zombie side and Grass Knuckles could be the melee class for the plant side like super brainz (most the of heroes from pvz heroes could be characters in GW3)
But what about rustbolt I think there should be another heroes character in the game we got citron,rose,superbrainz and z mech

Adding on to number 4, I think it would be cool if during mastery certain things gave you more xp on that level. For example for super brainz, on level 1 of mastery killing with fists gives more xp, but on level 2 it gives more if you kill with the super ball

Would love to see more game modes like soil
They should make you choose what zombies and plants to spawn for example, if a army zombie spawns, but you wanted to kill a superbrains, you could just click superbrains, and you can choose which one to spawn.
I’d also love to see Middle East servers as someone living in the Middle East I have to connect to European servers which is WAY to laggy.

My idea would be to add all the new characters from bfn to GW3, including Iceberg Lettuce, and would add 3 new characters to GW3 and all the characters would have quests like in GW2

There are so many things that EA and Popcap should do with GE2 before GW3. A crossplay feature for GW2 and update thebgame for modern consoels and release new dlc.
for cross play just give console gyro aim it works so well not quite as well as a mouse but it is great
I'm gonna try and re-download gw2 for my and my gf today
I think crossplay between consoles and pc would be fine as long as the anti cheat was really good

I love the idea of the ps5 and xbox players getting to play together but yeah, you're absolutely right about PC , its a bad idea to allow hackers to ruin the experience for console players too!
Ngl I just feel like something has to be done to show EA that we're still thriving. Like a petition of some kind, either to get any sort of continueation for GW2 or just a GW3. BfN was just a bad direction. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, so why did they change the style and mechanics for BfN?

1. No it's not, it doesnt have the variant system that the gw games had.
2. bfn just sucks :/
BFN does continue after GW1/2 BUT the games are not in the same universe roughly. BFN doesn't also have varients which makes the game bland asf and those upgrades like Brainium Basher (Which was a full mistake by EA/Popcap) would make the game unbalanced asf too
