Cobham. What a master. Can outplay just about anything on this planet and yet his work is so fine, skilled, subtil. I've been listening to him for almost half a century. I never get tired.
I love how Cobham is like, "I don't care who solos, I got your back." Mr. Rock Steady as these two virtuosos soar above Earth only to finally bring us lovingly back.
Jean Luc Ponty has been in my playlist since 1978. I believe that there has never been a more expressive violinist than this gentleman. His music is timeless. An outstanding musician.
3 Masters, 1 stage. For me, Billy Cobham's facial expressions embodied the ecstatic joy and beauty of oneness with the others. I was rapt during this whole piece
This drummer is a classic....many people are familiar with the great billy Cobham but this guy's technic and style of playing is without comparison.... ladies and gentlemen... Billy Cobham!!!!!
Music is NOT about who can play faster and better! Music is all about sharing a Vibe, Painting a picture together, telling a story with feelings and understanding from the heart, Music is also about mending broken hearts and healing people's Soul... That's real music. .Peace ♫♪♪♫ ॐ 平和
he loved it. Subramaniam is of such a high standard. it is an honour for Cobham and Ponty to play this session. it took their breath. fantastic. What a joy.
@@willemsengers6017 I don't want to burst your bubble but this song is super easy compared to what Billy did with MO. this is a very simple song for the drums. It's just a simple 4/4 with a repetitive melody pattern.
Ponty is one of them for sure!!! But Subramaniam is right up there with him. And there are others, like Jerry Goodman, Didier Lockwood and Allen Sloan. All great!
You said it clearly in few true words, greatings from a fiddler from France, my name is Luc and they used to nickname me Ponthy, what a honour , I Wish I deserved it, they say I do, however, the boss is music always, the player just tries to help a bit!!

Pure genius !!! I jave been enthralled with Dr. Subramiam's virtuoso permances and misic for the last over 40 years. When I heard his Conversations first Time, became a fan for life.. Some of his peices fill my heart and moistens my eyes.. God bless Dr, Subramaniam and God bless India for giving the world such a priceless musician.
Loved Billy's expressions.. Deserved a re-watch only for that. But the composition and rendering itself has so much in it, that a 1000 listens are not enough to grasp whats in there. Jean Luc for the beauty he brings in and LS for the fire and passion he brings in.
At 9:00, Billy Cobham's says "wow." Dr. S is a remarkable musician and he engages these fusion superstars and, I think, lifts them to an exalted level. But it is not merely a cutting contest -- the music has deep spiritual resonance. Wow.
Jean Luc Ponty is superb . . but Dr L Subrsmaniam is from another planet !...his improvising with Cobham 4 .15 and on.Soungs like hid vio;in is weeping.

the dialogue between Subramaniam and cobham is priceless, and Ponty ... is Ponty ... one who has played with Zappa automatically can only be a champion. great show
I read many commentaries praising Subramaniam, which of course are deserved to one of the top masters of 20th century. But I would insist on how clean and powerfull in subtliness JL Ponthy is playing, he is already in advanced age but his playing and the quality of his sound is absolutly overwhelming, highest respect to the master, you are on a level where music fusionates with higher spheres , Subramaniam knows how to invite the highest musicians. And thanks so much to whow uploaded this monumental song!

Goosebumps when listening to JLP (who is larger than life on stage) and tears in my eyes with Subramaniam. It's not difficult to see why Romani gypsies love the violin, with their roots in India! I also really dig Subramaniam on his album Global Fusion with various musicians.
