Rolling Coal Moldboard Plowing with International 1256

- One of our hay fields has been in hay for 11 years now, and it's time to put it into corn. We are hoping the extra corn will provide us with some more picking corn to put in our corn cribs this fall. The International 1256 and International 770 Plow get to work doing some moldboard plowing. We are desperate for rain, and the soil shows how dry it is.

Trinity Dairy was established in 2006, in Minnesota. Alan and Jennifer farm with their 5 children; Jessica, Justin, Jordan, Joshua, and Jason. We milk a mix of 33 Jersey, Holstein, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, and Ayrshire cattle. We also enjoy sharing our family's love of Draft Horses and using them for logging and other farm work. Dairy Farming in Minnesota can be challenging, but it's a lifestyle we really enjoy. Subscribe today to watch our small family dairy farm and family grow while continuing to thank our Lord for the blessings we've been given.
You gotta love that sound, instead those new tractors sounds like sewingmachines, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Dad's little helpers👍he's becoming quite a cinematographer and commentator. Nice view with cows and tractor in the background.
Nothing like the SOUND OF A STRAIGHT PIPE !!!!❤😊
Old red was sounding great. Thats a beautiful piece of ground. God bless you Alan and your family.
The old 12 wanted more. 😂 The ground plowed up really nice.
The Old 1256 IS NOT LACKING ANY POWER 😊
Love the straight pipe sound. Raw diesel power. Cool.
That hammer strap will work just fine!!!! 😊
I really liked seeing your 1256 handling that plow - heavy ground but it took it. Not bad for a tractor that is approaching 55 years old!
Keep up the good work!
The 1256 PULLS THE PLOW GOOD 😊 !!!!!
Bees are getting to be more and more popular. My cousin near Ellsworth keeps several hives. I always like looking at farm fabrication to make things work better. Heck maybe the smoke in our air DIDN'T come from Canada!? 😂
Lol!
Well I have to say there the best ploughing I,'ve seen in a long time .the plough is set to perfection ,well done
Gotta say,,,the 12 is running beautifully!!
The 12 handles that plow good Allen. Wishing you some well needed rain.
Thanks for sharing. You can't beat the power in the old iron. Your 12 was just playing with your plow. You can see how dry it must be there at the high ground. The lower part looked alittle wetter. Cows looked really healthy and happy too. Your son has a good eye looking how good your ground was rolling over..
You're lucky the plow will even go into the ground and stay in. Our ground is so dry and hard don't know if you could get a chisel plow to penetrate let alone a moldboard plow. Finished planting corn and beans into the dust last week. Best wishes to you and yours as you wrap up planting season and move into haymaking. Praying that the Lord will bless ALL farmers with a good soaking rain.
I don't think the plow would have gone in if it was clay soil.
Alan, It's nice you have been able to get the plowing done. I hope the rain starts soon so you can get your corn planted. It's nice to see the boys are able to help you. Here in Western PA we also pray for rain. But out east toward Lancaster there already in drought conditions. We pray for you all, Skip
That's a good workout for that tractor. I love the kido commentary. Thank you for sharing another great video. Please stay safe, and God bless.
Enjoy watching Trinity dairy videos! ✌️
Its satisfying watching all the different angles and views of the plowing in action.
What a great video working the land with the plowing that is rarely done now.
I remember it back in my kid days back in the 40's and 50's the biggest I remember was a 3 furrow plow.
It's nice to see you got Bee hives on your farm.
A farmer once told me alfalfa roots can go down 6ft into the ground.
They can go three times that far.
The old girl knew that plough was behind her. Never seen so much dust behind a plough it must be very dry and compacted
The ole 12 had a hard work day but she took it.
That sod is turning over nice. I wish I had that same tractor and plow back in the 80’s and 90’s when we were farming. Your fields look similar to how ours did. I’d love to be running that old equipment right now.
The old 1256 getting a work out.
Reminds me of PLOWIN with my 1206😊 and my 550 plow
IT would also be a good field to try my 70-5-14s
Those old 56 series DT407 got a sound of there own always like to hear one working
Very nice! Gotta love those Internationals! From Sophia,N.C.
love red power
Rocks don't seem bad either. Don't hear the plow trip much. Pray for rain for you.
The cows are getting stimulation with Alan plowing and having fun😅
Another great video TD , Hoping you get some rain asap and regards from Ohio !
Allan, love the plough! Nobody know that art anymore! Hope you are enjoying those duals. Much nicer ride in an old IHC! Alta Canada 🇨🇦
The cows seemed to have enjoyed watching you plow.
Love to see the vintage iron working the land.
#RollingCoal
#LetHerEat
That rested land will yield some really good corn!
Definitely getting a proper roll over.
Go bless you ALL!!!❤❤
Boy, she's dry😢hope for rain, she's dry here in SE Wisconsin.
Yes, it is!
Nice plowing video !
Plowing 👍
Ole IH getting it done 👍
strong tractor no computer ! for ever !inn dry year may be just keep this pasture
That ground cuts like butter🤤
Looks like pretty good soil there. Not a whole lot of rocks. Corn should do well.
I was able to go to GLENCOE and get the front plow hitch set-up for a 700 Plow ❤😊
Only seen dust coming off a plow a couple other times. Praying y’all get one of those million dollar rains. The 12 blew out all her cobwebs that day for sure. Who is that man with all that hair that has that cute little girl on his shoulders. JK Alan Great picture.
As she's gotten older, I keep losing it. I think there's a connection
Enjoyed the video. Hope you get rain and get your seed set soon. Stay safe. D
I've seen those 1256 internationals pull a 25' disk with ease real work horse
bees, hogs, layers, sawyering, etc lots of opportunities to keep the family on the farm
....BTW if anybody gets stung by bees, DON'T pull it out but istead scrape it out with finger nail. The stinger has muscles with hook like, so if you pull on it, it breaks and pulls itself deeper. We have 20 hives, here in NE rural Ohio 🐝
How far north have the africanized bees made it?
@@colorado1088 not in Ohio🙏
Love seeing that old Corn Binder work! Not pretty but it gets the job done!
G'day again Alan. You were talking about those big, tough old alfalfa plants- we call it lucerne down here in Australia- on my grandfathers old farm there was a deep little creek on the edge of the alfalfa field. A sudden flood went through after a violent thunderstorm- what we call a gully raker- and a couple of yards of the high creek bank collapsed and washed away. The alfalfa roots were exposed laying across the bedrock in the creek- twelve feet down! I envy you all that green feed- early winter here and nothing growing. Our turn will come:) Jay.
I think the 12 could have handled 8,,,but yer right Allen,,,it's getting dry.
Those bees will help pollinate you corn
My birthday.. Awesome
Happy Birthday!!
Nice to see quiet cattle.
It's pretty dry, but there is a few moist spots!
Yeah the low spots, by the swamp, we're moist.
Very nice and God bless y'all 🙏
Another very interesting video Thank you
My dads got a 1456 with the same cab that he uses for feeding cattle everyday
That's a nice machine!
Love plowing videos. Thanks for sharing.
You look to be really increasing the size of your corn crop this year. Is that to be able to sell some of your crop at the end of the year, or are increasing your amount of feed to, perhaps, grow the size of your herd? Or, am I just a city slicker who's way off base. Either way, I could watch earth being rolled over or turned under all day long. As usual, great video.
We're hoping to have more picking corn to feed our heifers a homegrown feed. Try and save some money there because we do have a lot more heifers.
👀🙄🐾👍 Great video A&J the cows are looking good
that 1256 is a great work horse
A neighbor in the 70s bought a 806 put propane on it that was before m and w came out with a turbo when the turbo came out he put on the 806 and ran both pulled a 6 on land plow he did a lot of custom plowing that tractor ran for 10000 hrs before he bought a 1066 running 200hp
Loved this!
cant beat ihc plows ground shure is dry you need rain hope yo0u get some
Really good one ya'll. ❤ 🐄🐃🐂
Very nice video plowing looked great don’t see a lot of that these days keep up good work. It’s dry in Wisconsin and we need rain too
The ground looks good I don't see any rocks that's a real good thing for you
thank you
My favorite part about plowing is flipping over the gopher mounds. I didn't see any in your field. I'm sure those bees will have lots of wild flowers at your place to collect from.
We haven't had a decent rain in my part of PA for 30 days. The only thing saving us is that all of our corn is no tilled. Even so, it is really getting concerning.
wow its some dry there, thos int plows do a good job, i loe to plow but no where as good as you
I figured that if the 1066 can pull the plow the 1256 can do it too, this is the first time I have seen the 1256 with duals, what happened with the tire on The 1066, i think i missed that one, that plow looks like it does a good job tearing up the ground, my nephew and his fiance are getting married in Nome ND at an old school house that has been restored, thats coming up on Saturday 🚜🇺🇸 thanks for the video Alan
The tire on the 1066, was getting dry rotted and finally blew out.
I think old smokey is a good name for that tractor.
at 4:28..............."4 cuttings" ?
Yes, that was great !
Yes, it was!
I use spikes on my cultivater to give alfalfa a root system
Yikes that looks dry
Very nice love it I really wanted a 1256 or 1456 they are hard to find tho I got a 1066 I will have more sone day what gear was you plowing in
3rd low, TA in high.
❤❤❤😊😊😊
Is it the duals off the 1066? Were those always hanging around for the 12? Rig looks good with hips!
No those are just for the 12
If I could mention, don't cut the grass near those hives. My brother had hives on our farm and the bees would swarm me every time I used the mower near them. Great videos you make!
They sure don't like lawnmowers lol, besides they like morning dew on tall grass and weeds.
Boy I don’t like how dry that is
How important are the doubled wheels on the rear axle; without them would you need to use a smaller plow with fewer bottoms?
It would probably pull it with the single wheels, but you'd probably be spinning more.
❤ 🚜
👍👍
If you have any scrap metal available that might get you those tires
Great to see the 1256 still working hard. Another great video! It is very dry here in Minnesota. We really need some serious rain. Wishing you all the best.
Ih made the best and easiest pulling plows. You could hook that 6 bottom behind an 806 and plow without an issue lol
What type of soil are you plowing?
Sand/gravel/tiny bit of clay by the swamp
How many years are you going to plant corn and other stuff before you put in back in hay
Probably corn for 2 years, then back to hay.
Putting on the duels helped out didn't it
Yeah that makes a difference
🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Any Part's 770s in your part of the country ???😊
I have one for parts, but that's the only one I know of. Both of the ones we have, came from North Dakota.
I was able to find a Part's Plow by Glencoe Mn 35 miles from Le Sueur !!! 😊
@@user-du1um2pl4g awesome!
I know basically the 1066 is a newer 1256. I'm assuming your 1066 is all weighted down but if your 12 was weighted the same would it pull that plow as good as the 10?
I don't think so, the 1066 is a little more HP than the 12.
$14-1500 for tire? Just pd 565 for a 14.9-28 BKT. Ahh heck, that's plowing pretty nice. Had 3/5 bottoms tripped at once trying the gravel 5dys ago
1200
@@trinitydairy ahh, my 1896 takes 18.4-38 radial. You must need bias or things are cheaper in MN than NY
@@brandonhoad9033 that was the price for a bias, but he accidentally ordered a radial, so I got it for the price of a bias ply.
@@trinitydairy 👍🥳. They wear sooo much better
