I have a Hatsan Escort Xtreme magnum for almost 5 years. I've put everything through it (from 10 to slugs) and not a single jam. I shoot shells what Benelli and Winchester can only dream about. I really couldn't ask more from a shotgun. I bought it for 520€ and I'm very satisfied for the price/quality.
I bought a second hand Armsan 612a a while ago. Mint condition on the outside but looked like it had never been cleaned before inside. Gave it a scrub up and it's never let me down. Brilliant gun.
I have just bought the Armsan used it a couple of times with 28grm loads never missed a beat great little gun, shop around for it i picked mine up for £299 brand new from McAvoys in Wigan it is a bit of a pain to put back together but i would recommend it for a second gun.
@@tomparker3654 yes, not easy but yes you can . Except no selfloading rifles other than .22rf. All bolt action guns are allowed though. I haven't the time to go into the handgun situation as its quite complex and convoluted.
My son bought a Escort for his first shotgun. It was a mess, lasted 2 shoots before that cut off switch spring broke and flew in the action jamming it shut. The gun jammed at least once during a skeet round is whole life. I felt so bad I bought him a Mossberg 930pro sporting. Never a issue with that one.

I still love it, because everyone I invite to the gun cabinet, always makes oooh and aaah sounds at it, but even shooting sovereigns and NSI's through it, it still jams every now and again. Even with a thorough clean and liberal oiling.
Cheers fellas. My two penny for what it's worth. I currently own a 3" & 3.5" Escort, and have previously owned the older 3" Escort. I agree that the older Escort is better avoided, the action bar bush that sits to the rear of the gas piston had a poor location machining design which after several thousand rounds will wear and will can cause the action bar to ride over the bush and thus jam the action bar within the receiver when cycling; this design fault has now been corrected and the new model is cock-on. I did look at the A612 and in all honesty preferred it's looks; however (personal choice) found the pistol grip of the A612 a tad too slim compared to the 'bulkier' Escort and simply felt the Escort a better 'fit' for me. Neither gun can be complained at; they both do the job and at a fantastic price. The outer chokes and the cartridge cut-off on the Escort are a bonus. The 3.5" chambered Escort (which I got new for £295!!!) has a shitty lacquer finish to the wooden stock and fore-end that I found so bloody awful that I spent a couple of hours stripping it and oiling/waxing the wood... 10 times better now. Good to see a decent review on these two popular guns... decent working tools that do the job in a sound and reliable manner. Regards, Jim

I don't know about the A612, but the Escort has a 9 round extension. Plus, it has that feed stop mechanism that lets you put one directly into the chamber giving you 10.

ive had a escort magnum for 3yr and never once jammed top gun in my eyes had 2 o/u shotguns before miroku and baikal but prefer semi auto by far

I have a hatsan escort for pigeon shooting, for the money it takes some beating, never let me down.
I have an Armsan A612. It doesn't repeat with 24g skeet and trap loads but it has never missed a beat with 32g.

Just put 50 shells thou mine at Wallers Ash never missed a beat hit 40/50 not bad for first time out with a semi auto

i have a a612 in wood mine shoots 24g and cycles them but i ran mine in as to the instructions with heavy loads
