    I found the manual really easy to follow, apart from removing the cocking handle: that stumped me. Thanks to your video I've now managed to strip, clean and reassemble my gun. Really helpful: thank you.

    Thank you very much for your time. My 2nd hand Escort started misfiring. Despite its being a somewhat different model I managed to get it apart and the firing pin block was filthy! Hopefully it'll cycle reliably now. Thanks again!

    great video for a new owner like myself. As in one of the other comments the removal of the cocking handle is not covered in the manual, so found that really helpful. My gun does seem to differ from yours as it has barrel fixing nut that secures the barrel valve assembly before the fore end is attached.

    Great video tutorial. I would have been lost without it. Thank you
    I am newish to shooting and bought an Escort for clays as it was cheap. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't cycle after about 100 shells. Your comment about being careful not to loose the O ring had me completely stumped for about 10 minutes though. I carefully followed your instructions but no O ring. What O ring? After replaying that bit about 6 times I then realised the piston was not staying on the magazine tube but was stuck in the receiver / gas port on the bottom of the barrel. Once I finally got this released I could then see that the O ring was now simply a raised black mark on the magazine tube. Anyway, lots of cleaner and elbow grease got the magazine tube clean and the piston completely de-coked. New O ring from the RFD the next day and it cycles perfectly now.

    My problem is figuring out the placement of the O-rings. I obviously didn’t do it right as I slid the ring on the piston itself not in front. A close up of the two O-rings configuration would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Cracking video. I have heard people slating Hatsan, and while im new to the shooting scene, i have a Hatsan air rifle, a wee springer and i love it. its well made and never gives me any bother. So was flicking through gun mart on line tonight and come across the Hatsan Escort and at £400 seems a good price for a lot of gun think they come with 4 or 5 chokes. I have heard of people bitchin about them 'aw they jam,' 'aw they are a bad gun,' i have never used an Escort nor do i know anybody who has one (i have a wee baikal) which i use for clay birds, bunnies,pigeons and crows. but im thinking i will invest in an Escort. And i see where you are coming from about the clay birds... gun snobbery is a pain in the ass. i was on the line and one guy with a very expensive gun called pull... click... pull... click. he was very feeling sick when i called pull n hit my bird first barrell with a wee cheap baikal. she might not be a big brand name but its never let me down. as a fella says you could beat in fence post with it and it would still shoot. :-) and im thinking the Escort is from the same kind of stable. what weight of cartridge load works best in the Hatsan, or does it matter. cheers

    @MrFermanaghman do you happen to have a fieldstrip video on the Hatsan Slugger (pump 12 Ga)? Just picked it up today. Going through the manual, it gives cleaning and oiling instructions. They recommend cleaning the bolt assembly after 500 rounds, but oddly, they don't show how to fieldstrip it to get to this.

      Personally I love it. It's never gave me any problems. NEW you get 3 years warranty just make sure you register it. It's never jammed and shoots light loads too. Others say they hate them but I think mine is great! I have used it on pigeons and ducks and rough shooting in all weathers and it's never let me down. I even didn't clean it for ages then shot it, still no jams.

    Hi Ive just bought one of these to add to my collection. It comes apart ect almost the same as my Armsan. My question is:- When the gun is empty and cocked, and you tip the gun forward, do you hear what I presume is the gas piston falling forward and sliding freely? Im just a bit concerned as my Armsan doesn't do this. It cant be right surely I appreciate your view Thanks..

    • @MrFermanaghman
      @MrFermanaghman  4 роки тому

      I dont see your point? This is an simple video for those new to firearms... this semi auto and I am so so sorry we dont meet to your high standard of field stripping.
      And I am sure your mrs is so pleased it takes you less than 2mins to "have it off" as you say. Apparently you can get tablets to help you with that problem.

      @@MrFermanaghman oh bro.. sarcasm and attitude? UA-cam has corrupted you bud because my comment didnt come from a state of negativity. I brought one of these a few weeks back but I think it's the older model to what you have, I took it out for the first time and it would only shoot once but everything cycled ok, when I got home I gave it a good clean after that the second time I took it out it would only shoot twice. Any idea what could be the problem?

    dry firing can weaken the firing pin spring and could even snap the firing pin. and it would cost more than the gun to repair it

    • @MrFermanaghman
      @MrFermanaghman  9 років тому

      For the few times that you need to do it I wouldn't be worried about dry firing.

    • @MrFermanaghman
      @MrFermanaghman  9 років тому

      I would disagree with you on it jamming around every 100 shots. I have used this on a long evening clay shooting with someone else over 250 birds zero jams. It's all in the way u look after your firearm. Correct cleaning plus lube will prevent jams. I have never had this jam on me at all.

    • @kieranmorgan97
      @kieranmorgan97 9 років тому

      my guns are cleansed after every time I use them but I think it might have something to do with the shells im using they seem to dirty ones they have caused my side by side to misfire until I cleansed it

    • @MrFermanaghman
      @MrFermanaghman  9 років тому

      The only time I have heard of a side by side or over and under misfiring is due to a issue with the shotgun and not the shells. The shells dnt do anything to the mech of the shotgun.
      I was at a clay shoot where a over and under kept misfiring when closed. It was down to a really dirty mech.
