I found the manual really easy to follow, apart from removing the cocking handle: that stumped me. Thanks to your video I've now managed to strip, clean and reassemble my gun. Really helpful: thank you.
Nicholas Hacking you are welcome!
Thank you very much for your time. My 2nd hand Escort started misfiring. Despite its being a somewhat different model I managed to get it apart and the firing pin block was filthy! Hopefully it'll cycle reliably now. Thanks again!
Glad I could help
Just got myself one and this is the best and simplest Strip and assembly video iv seen so far, no messing just simple easy instructions.
Thank you
MrFermanaghman
Daz Morris thank you Daz. Very kind to say so. Enjoy your Hatsan!
Thank you regards from the USA
Just picked one up and very pleased with it.
Thanks to your video I can now remove the cocking pin as I too had trouble as the manual does not give the full details. Thanks very much for making the video
You are welcome... look out for a video how I clean it coming up this week.
Thank you sir from the Bahamas, I took my time and watch u and follow ur instructions and everything went well.
Excellent camera work not easy with a black action and great explanation of removal of charging handle . Top man !
Cheers
Great video, friend. Straight to the point, camera well handled, and your dialog is broken down for a lamen. I wish more videos were made in such a fashion.
this video is perfect! thank you for "helping" to disassembly and clean my shotgun... all the best, Marcos from Brazil
Excellent video...straight to the point and very clear instructions.
Cheers thanks
great video for a new owner like myself. As in one of the other comments the removal of the cocking handle is not covered in the manual, so found that really helpful. My gun does seem to differ from yours as it has barrel fixing nut that secures the barrel valve assembly before the fore end is attached.
You are welcome
Great job with explanation and camera! I was having issues with the operating handle (never had to follow these types of steps) and your video really helped me out. Thanks a million!
I just bought one and this is really helpful thank you
Good! I am glad it helped. Enjoy and straight shooting.
Mate your an absolute star!!!! Thank you!!!!
Glad you found it helpful! 😎👍🏻
Just got one look good value for money, thanks for the video 👍
Very good video- clear and concise. My gun now completely sorted. Many thanks.
Meike Wedge you are welcome!
hi, i bought one from turkey in year 2000 ,its a copy of franchi shotgun but the strange thing is that on the right side of the fore arm has a screw selector for magnum and normal. its a great gun and shoots well with zero problems.
Thank you very much sir. This helps me Field Strip to clean it. This video was very successful.
Thank you....simply excellent
Excellent Explanation.
Just bought one of these, great video on how to strip and reassemble, thanks.
You are welcome.
thank for the position of the ring ...
Great video! Thanks man!!
Great video. Was not sure how to remove charging handle until I watched you do it. This is different from my Remington 1100.
You are welcome
You are welcome.. video coming up next week how to clean them
Good informative video thank you , going to look at one this weekend.
Have fun!
Dude, this a very helpful video because their isn't enough videos on the gun :) Hopefully I'll get to join the Escort club in the next few months ;) God bless bro :)
Great video tutorial. I would have been lost without it. Thank you
I am newish to shooting and bought an Escort for clays as it was cheap. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't cycle after about 100 shells. Your comment about being careful not to loose the O ring had me completely stumped for about 10 minutes though. I carefully followed your instructions but no O ring. What O ring? After replaying that bit about 6 times I then realised the piston was not staying on the magazine tube but was stuck in the receiver / gas port on the bottom of the barrel. Once I finally got this released I could then see that the O ring was now simply a raised black mark on the magazine tube. Anyway, lots of cleaner and elbow grease got the magazine tube clean and the piston completely de-coked. New O ring from the RFD the next day and it cycles perfectly now.
great stuff.. you can buy new o rings on ebay also
Top video!
Exactly what I wanted to know
My problem is figuring out the placement of the O-rings. I obviously didn’t do it right as I slid the ring on the piston itself not in front. A close up of the two O-rings configuration would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Nice video, thank you for sharing!
very clear.
Your welcome
Cracking video. I have heard people slating Hatsan, and while im new to the shooting scene, i have a Hatsan air rifle, a wee springer and i love it. its well made and never gives me any bother. So was flicking through gun mart on line tonight and come across the Hatsan Escort and at £400 seems a good price for a lot of gun think they come with 4 or 5 chokes. I have heard of people bitchin about them 'aw they jam,' 'aw they are a bad gun,' i have never used an Escort nor do i know anybody who has one (i have a wee baikal) which i use for clay birds, bunnies, pigeons and crows. but im thinking i will invest in an Escort. And i see where you are coming from about the clay birds... gun snobbery is a pain in the ass. i was on the line and one guy with a very expensive gun called pull... click... pull... click. he was very feeling sick when i called pull n hit my bird first barrell with a wee cheap baikal. she might not be a big brand name but its never let me down. as a fella says you could beat in fence post with it and it would still shoot. :-) and im thinking the Escort is from the same kind of stable. what weight of cartridge load works best in the Hatsan, or does it matter. cheers
A great video
Excellent and clear description mate......
Thank you very much
Good video, thanks for posting
@MrFermanaghman do you happen to have a fieldstrip video on the Hatsan Slugger (pump 12 Ga)? Just picked it up today. Going through the manual, it gives cleaning and oiling instructions. They recommend cleaning the bolt assembly after 500 rounds, but oddly, they don't show how to fieldstrip it to get to this.
please can you explain where gaz pass trought ?
Old video I know, what's your thoughts on your Hatsan? Been considering one for a while now. £295 new these days, very temping.
It’s a great shogun for the money and 3 year warranty
Show demais, tenho uma, é muito boa
Tks for sharing the vid. Looking at one in an auction now. Would like yours or any other owner of this shotgun honest opinion. Is it a good shotgun and how much do you use it? Tks
Honestly great gun! Lots of people crap on it but keep it clean and oiled and she’s no problem. Only reason I changed was I love browings and swopped to a maxus
really helpful thx
MrFermanaghman .
Great video many thanks for posting.
May i ask what are your thoughts on this gun please, the only reason for my question is I'm thinking of purchasing the same gun and just wanted some feedback from an owner.
I have done some online research but its always nice to get some first hand.
Thanks in advance.
Bryan.
Personally I love it. It's never gave me any problems. NEW you get 3 years warranty just make sure you register it. It's never jammed and shoots light loads too. Others say they hate them but I think mine is great! I have used it on pigeons and ducks and rough shooting in all weathers and it's never let me down. I even didn't clean it for ages then shot it, still no jams.
I have the same shotgun but sounds that it will only fire low brass. I cannot fire hi brass. Any comments to help me out with this I would be grateful.
Lovely gun but i have Escort magnum wood Heavy gun ❤️
Very nice
Would the gas piston cause this gun to not cycle after shooting a round? Mine is basically functioning as a bolt action.
Are you sure you have cleaned it and reassembled it correctly
I can seem to find what chokes it takes? some said ber/ben treads and another said remington but i know for sure the remington wont fit in mine, need some info, Thanks
I've just bought a used Escort Magnum 12/76. I tried shooting 12/70 with it, but it wouldn't reload. Can you change the gas pressure like you can on a Baikal??
MrCapKorzeniowski sounds like your rubber ring is or was missing
Do you know of any fix for weak primer strikes with these shotguns?
Hi Ive just bought one of these to add to my collection. It comes apart ect almost the same as my Armsan. My question is:- When the gun is empty and cocked, and you tip the gun forward, do you hear what I presume is the gas piston falling forward and sliding freely? Im just a bit concerned as my Armsan doesn't do this. It cant be right surely I appreciate your view Thanks..
I'll check.
Thank you :)
+MrFermanaghman Perfectly normal. Mine does the exact same thing. 👌
That is a relief thank you
just done the actual strip down today. gun was not new i noticed what looks like tiny bit of pitting in barrel would this be anything to panic over, thanks for any help.
Give it a good scrub with a brass brush plenty of cleaner and hopefully it will be ok.
Hi thanks for the video. Is it normal to hear the smart valve moving after assembly?
Dnt think so
Thanks, It only happens if the bolt is locked to the rear & I point the gun up & down.
In general do you like this wapen ???
The Hatsan escort is a very good shotgun for the price point. Very good all round for hunting.
i have the chance of buying a used 3 shot semi automatic. i do not no the history of this gun what would you advise.
If you grab your barrel and tug or push it does it move 1mm
davidpyper82 once it's back together?? No it doesn't move at all.
What's the reciever made of?
Metal
Can someone help me? I have a 20g hatsan and I can’t get no more than two shells into it. I try and push a third in and it won’t go
The magazine is crimped in the UK to only allow 2 in the magazine and 1 chambered.
I own a benelli supernova and its painfully easy to break down completely. Could film stripping it down, having it off with the mrs and reassemble and it will still only be a two minute video
I dont see your point? This is an simple video for those new to firearms... this semi auto and I am so so sorry we dont meet to your high standard of field stripping.
And I am sure your mrs is so pleased it takes you less than 2mins to "have it off" as you say. Apparently you can get tablets to help you with that problem.
@@MrFermanaghman oh bro.. sarcasm and attitude? UA-cam has corrupted you bud because my comment didnt come from a state of negativity. You mentioned in your vid that you havnt done strip downs of other guns. My comment was more a suggestion because the supernova is so easy... way to go hating on viewers bud...
I brought one of these a few weeks back but I think it's the older model to what you have, I took it out for the first time and it would only shoot once but everything cycled ok, when I got home I gave it a good clean after that the second time I took it out it would only shoot twice. Any idea what could be the problem?
Thanks
What do u mean it would only shoot twice. What did it do.
It fired the 2 shells and loaded the third but didn't shoot it, I noticed today that the barrel is a little loose
reassemble the gun properly ..the barel must fit to the end than screw the cap tight...the gun wont shoot if the barel and receiver are not lock in and if barel are like you said lose then probably arent lock in
Does anyone know what choke tubes they take aftermarket
What is the function of cut of button
Cuts off access to the magazine.. when that is pressed you can pull back the bolt and eject the chambered round and the bolt will stay back.
I can't believe all these people who say "I'm going to make a quick video" then proceed to take over 2 minutes, of an 8 minute video, before they even get the gun apart. Sheesh. Stop talking and GET TO IT.
Ok Karen go make your own video.
Top top demais!!!
Trying this but still can’t seem to get out
Take your time
What is the cut/off button for?
Once pressed it cuts off the feed from the magazine and you can pull the bolt back and eject the chambered shell
dry firing can weaken the firing pin spring and could even snap the firing pin. and it would cost more than the gun to repair it
For the few times that you need to do it I wouldn't be worried about dry firing.
I would disagree with you on it jamming around every 100 shots. I have used this on a long evening clay shooting with someone else over 250 birds zero jams. It's all in the way u look after your firearm. Correct cleaning plus lube will prevent jams. I have never had this jam on me at all.
my guns are cleansed after every time I use them but I think it might have something to do with the shells im using they seem to dirty ones they have caused my side by side to misfire until I cleansed it
The only time I have heard of a side by side or over and under misfiring is due to a issue with the shotgun and not the shells. The shells dnt do anything to the mech of the shotgun.
I was at a clay shoot where a over and under kept misfiring when closed. It was down to a really dirty mech.
dirty mechanism now i'm wondering if I am going to have to have the mech torn down hope not
How do you rate this gun? I might buy one.
I give it a big thumbs up very reliable until you are on about 100 shots then its so dirty it jams or misfires so it needs cleaning every 100 shells other than that very nice gun
انها بندقيه راقيه
My charging handle does not come out that easy
Watch closely you have to put a little pressure on
sorry to say i had 2 pump and semi auto both rubbish auto wood not cycle properly pump had light primer strikes
Can't get charging handle out
Watch closely. It’s easy
