Lucky pants had gradual indirect buffs for a while now, but specifically with kinetic surge and overcharged weapons, I had to showcase its potential. It's always been a favorite of mine
Apparently seventh sereph officer revolver with 4th times and vorpal with a boss mod has the best dps against non taken if youre looking for a legendary to run with this build. Ikelos and trust are also 180s that get vorpal if youre looking for an energy version to run with witherhoard or striga. @@KodiakD2 Don't pick explosive ammunition for this build, the damage buff is not that big with that perk and if it explodes after the bonus leaves, the damage leaves too
@@KodiakD2 funny I was messing with a solar lucky pants build today with crimson and also went with radiant dodge to more easily deal with barriers. I will have to try this with that gl! Also thanks for informing about kinetic mods buffing golden gun. Hunter is my least played class.
@@KodiakD2 I need a math lesson on how to explain percents though. For my strand malph lucky pants I had 600 (lucky pants) +25(Radiant)+25(Matching surge)+22(mods)+30(tether)+25(taken)+25(whitherhorde). That's 752% bonus damage right or is that some crazy number?
So with percentages, they'll multiply as whole number values, so in total... I'd be interested to see how this performs against Akelous from the Spire dungeon; the DPS phase is relatively short, so I would think it would do well. Any thoughts?
It would work great against the first boss, due to his crit being very easy to hit. You could use a LFR and cycle with loaders to chain multiple lucky pants buffs. Second boss would be a lot harder due to his crit being hidden at first and his crazy flinch rate.

Yeah it's really annoying, thankfully hunter only has short restoration burst so we're not too worried with this build. But on my warlock/Titan it's incredibly frustrating
This build is not dependent on artifact mods, the artifact mods make it slightly better if you also want to use a weapon with an origin perk or if you want to use a void lmg. You can still get the crazy damage and consistent healing this build provides without any of that.
It would still work fine, the only things you would miss out on are the volatile and constant overcharge bonus on the void LMG, and the boost to firebolt grenades. But the core gameplay is completely independent of Artifact mods
As long as you don't miss a shot it will, you can absolutely use that in place of Crimson if you have it. That way you could also rock tractor cannon for an extra debuff too
I have reconstruction and high impact reserve, so max 28 bullets in the right circumstances. a pretty good first burst but then it falls back to the usual 14 rounds in the mag. still, I'm happy with it, it's a good dps when there's several champs/yellow bars
You could use really any kinetic and find success with it. For higher difficulty content, you could use a scout rifle(night watch is my favorite, smite of merain) with damage boosting perks like frezy or explosive payload. One thing I'd think would be really good is the submission smg from VOTD, specifically with steady hands and bait and switch. Pair it quth a burst dps option with auto loading(like a rocket or gl) and you could basically cycle through your burst heavy, then lucky with eriana's, then switch to submission for a 35% damage boost(if you match surge it's an additional 25%) and kills with it increase all weapon handling, so you could swap back to your heavy and restart the damage cycle
Yeah, for whatever reason the game counts golden gun as a kinetic weapon. No idea if it's intentional but it buffs it by the same percent (22% for 3 mods)
In lower level content you can honestly just melt through both. In higher difficulty, when we hit a scorched target with our weighted throwing knife, they'll ignite instantly(unstoppable), or if you throw a firebolt grenade well enough it'll cause an ignition on its own. For Overload, you'd just use another weapon that's anti Overload this season. Like I mentioned any smg with a variety of perks would work fine for this
Sometimes it works awesome and it's so strong but sometimes it seems like it's not even doing anything. I'm not sure if it's an inconsistency thing or a skill issue on my part. But I proc the damage boost and sometimes it doesn't do anything extra.
Trust is decent, best HCs are 180s or any higher rate of fire, just look for any decent damage boosting perks. Also radiant is a universal empowering buff so it'll work on all weapons
I think it works great with void(debuffing) or strand(suspend+woven mail) but it would work fine on any subclass. Specifically with stasis, you could equip whisper of rending for a small damage boost against frozen enemies with a kinetic weapon like Crimson.
Personally I’m running this with stand subclass to make it even easier to just shred champions and anything that the game will let me suspend. And because the single target damage is so good on the build the strand super also lets me take care of ads. I am losing out on damage but strand also debuffs enemies so I’m not sure how much I’d be losing out on
I second this, been running all GM’s with Crimson and Lucky Pants so far and its really easy and gets me top score every time too. This incoming 20% buff will push this through the roof.
You wouldn't lose out on much, the big thing is that solar provideds immediate buffing while strand gives suspend and damage resist with woven mail and sever. You'll lose out on radiant but it already does so much damage without it
@@KodiakD2 Much easier to get those crits in on targets like wyverns etc etc, when running it with strand. It already bursts down GM champs and the 20% buff to HC base dmg will only make it better. Most supers can’t do what this does every 10 seconds.
So whats the rotation for this to keep consistent uptime? I'm terrible with Solar but I have everything for this build... and can't seem to make it work like in the video.
I see the loss of hand cannon holster as a new change of pace. Remembering the description of the exotic, the damage buff only activates when pulling a *fully loaded* handcannon. By this logic, you can store the damage buff for more beefier targets by purposefully shooting a few bullets and stowing the gun at 21 bullets to use again for trash mobs.
Celestial is still really strong, and with a similar build, you still have a lot of great weapons to support it. Biggest thing is that using 3 kinetic surges is waaaay more important with celestial than with this
Fun tip: Some people say it doesn't stack or just doesn't work. But I did my own testing and found out it does work. The overcharge rounds that Sturm gets from Drang kills do get the damage buffs from Lucky Pants, Kinetic Surge, and Radiant. Sturm overcharge being bonus damage already makes the stacking potential even greater. Though you do lose Crimson's fire rate and health regen, Malfesance's intrinsic Unstoppable and bonus Taken damage, as well as requiring Drang for the synergy. While not bad, there are other options that you may need for high level content or certain activity encounters.
It's a red border drop from running/completing deep stone Crypt. You could technically get it from the first chest of the raid without ever doing an encounter, but the odds of that are extremely low for getting it once through the free chest, let alone 5 times
Question about this build, how well does Malfeasance pair with it? I've been hearing that, this season particularly, Crimson & Malfeasance are just deadly
Malfeasance pairs perfectly with it! It's damage is below Crimson against non Taken enemies, but against taken its actually a bit more damage than Crimson. So depending on the activity you could absolutely use malfeasance
Lucky pants (600% = 7x) Radiant (25% = 1.25x) 3 kinetic surge (22% = 1.22x) Overcharged(25% = 1.25x) Disruption break (50% =1.5x) Tether or Tractor cannon(30% = 1.3) Assuming our base damage per shot starts at 1(to keep it simple) we have 1×7x1.25x1.22x1.25x1.5x1.3 which gives us 26.02. To find the % increase we subtract our base damage and then divide by it. So 26.02 - 1 is 25.02, divided by 1 is 25.02. Multiply by 100 to get it to a percentage and 2502% I wasn't able to apply all buffs and debuffs at once as I did this all solo. But the calus clip in the beginning is overcharged, radiant, 2 or 3 kinetic surge mods, lucky pants, and disruption break and the math checks out on that. Just keep in mind his boss crit % and boss vs minor enemy base damage boost
Honestly I hope not. I've been seeing a lot of people play up lucky pants to being "broken", but it's simply not. It's a burst DPS option that temporarily outpaces heavy DPS, but requires multiple support mods to make it practical for any damage phase longer than 5 seconds. It's top tier, sure. But it's not broken by any means
I like lucky pants as well.. using it for the past few days.. One question.. in the video you are saying 600% Lucky Pants + 25% Radiant +22% Kinetic Weapon Surge = 968% Dmg increase. Am I missing something? Or is it not calculated 6*1,25*1,22? -> 9,15 -> 915%.
The 915 is with 2 surges not 3, I just used that as a minimum in case anyone wanted to use a holster/scavenger mod in place of a 3rd surge. With 3 surge mods its 968%
@@KodiakD2I thought it was 10,17,22 (x1,x2x3). Or is x3 29% now? And thank you for responding. Also I didn’t think of using disruption break. Thank you for the tip!
@@KodiakD2 with 17% I am getting 877,5. Could you clarify how it’s calculated correctly since it doesn’t seem to be 600 x 1,25 (Radiant) x 1,17 (Weapon Surge x 2) = 877,5
Been doing some research after watching this, thinking about going double hand cannon with erianas vow and pure poetry since it can get steady hands and harmony. Can't decide between a solar holster or just a solar reloader mod and just reloading before I stow it
Maybe use a kinetic loader, with its catalyst erinas already has auto loading so that way you'll just have a quick reload when swapping to pure poetry. Only thing with double hand cannon is make sure you don't swap unnecessarily, cause both handcannons share the same perk activation and debuff
PSA for those recreating this, the survivability of this build is horrible. I've done both gm nightfalls solo so far easily, but with this, you cant even survive in a 1830 lost sector. Overload champs and hydras are instant death. Forced to carry around a champ counter in your second wep slot so no green ammo either, and overload smg takes like 10 shots to stun the overload so you WILL take damage. Running after firesprites is NOT a viable method of healing for high end pve. Firebolt grenades even with 2 artifact perks are literally incapable of killing an 1830 red bar enemy on a direct hit, not even the weakest vex goblins. If there is a mod active that makes enemies drop something on the ground after dying - forget about collecting fire sprites. The nature of the 10 second cooldown for when you stow your handcannon also means you have to commit to killing the champion every time fully, so you must ad clear fully firs too, and if you mess up, you have to run for your life on low hp to wait for regen and lucky pants cooldown. 6/10 looks flashy but is super situational, high maintenance and mod reliant.
Sorry it didn't work too well for you. I solo'd the Mars battleground GM with it and thought it worked well. I'm sure against specific enemy types the build varies in potency, and overload rounds is definitely not the best solution to overload champions. Perhaps it's my playstyle vs yours, but I appreciate the feedback
@@KodiakD2 the build isnt bad its just difficult to pull off unless youve put time into it 🤙what do u think of running a different nade, like tripmine, that will guarantee kill a red bar if u attach it
I tried some basic testing solo, but it only included radiant, x3 surges and luckypants for around 450,000 with marksman dodge reloading. With a 30% debuff it'd be around 600,000 for just the hand cannon damage. We could also use our golden gun as burst DPS and our heavy for more damage. It's good for short DPS windows, but in very long damage phases it starts to lag behind pure heavy DPS. You could also pair this with a LFR for more boss damage focus, and with proper auto loaders, you could swap back and forth between your hand cannon for sustained DPS with multiple lucky pants boosts
It does but it has reduced potency. Eriana's gets 30% instead of 60% per shot and due to its fire rate can't naturally get 10 stacks up. Still hits really hard though
I would probably just use an smg for Overload rounds, especially for higher difficulty content. In lower tiers you can actually just out damage their healing effect with lucky pants too

If the weapon has radiant applied, and as long as it isn't intrinsically anti champion(for unstoppable or overload) it can break champions shield
@@KodiakD2 ah okay thats what i figured, just double checking
Can you still get the weapons that you use in video in or have use the other options
I've been using Lucky Pants forever..it's ALWAYS good
Why run time dilation if your armor stacks don’t decay?
Is this build still good for season of the deep
Would The Last Word work with this as well?
Ah yes.. my build made into a video.
Excellent taste
How good ist the Trust Handcannon with Solar? The 180s are nice for Dmg too i think. Because Radiant dont stack with Crimson.
Trust is decent, best HCs are 180s or any higher rate of fire, just look for any decent damage boosting perks. Also radiant is a universal empowering buff so it'll work on all weapons
@@KodiakD2 I know that the Radiant Buff is only active on Solar Weapons?
@@9crazyleo radiant works for all weapons
Crimson or Malf w catalyust now?
can this exotics combo still work as good with other classes? like stasis
I think it works great with void(debuffing) or strand(suspend+woven mail) but it would work fine on any subclass. Specifically with stasis, you could equip whisper of rending for a small damage boost against frozen enemies with a kinetic weapon like Crimson.
HOLY FCK BALLS LAD!
That Hand Cannon damage here 0:43 is amazing!
Can you use the malfeasance with this build? I don’t have crimson
Yeah malfeasance shreds with lucky pants.
So whats the rotation for this to keep consistent uptime? I'm terrible with Solar but I have everything for this build... and can't seem to make it work like in the video.
Why does his stacks of Armor charge not have a decay?
I see the loss of hand cannon holster as a new change of pace.
Remembering the description of the exotic, the damage buff only activates when pulling a *fully loaded* handcannon. By this logic, you can store the damage buff for more beefier targets by purposefully shooting a few bullets and stowing the gun at 21 bullets to use again for trash mobs.
Edit; yeah you're right. Hadn't had my coffee, wasn't thinking right.
Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on Celestial Nighthawk as a similar build?
Celestial is still really strong, and with a similar build, you still have a lot of great weapons to support it. Biggest thing is that using 3 kinetic surges is waaaay more important with celestial than with this
Ok. I’ve seen some crazy damage out of it and was curious.
If you are using surge mods, why are your armor charges not counting down?
If I don’t have a void lmg would a void smg work?
Yeah! I actually use a void smg with repulsor brace when I know an activity doesn't have barrier champs
How you carrying 2 fire bolt grenades?
Does this still work in the new season of the deep?
How do you get the 10x bonus damage its confusing me, I'm kinda slow I guess
All good! Each shot after you switch to your handcannon grants you one stack. Hitting 10 bullets gives you the x10 stacks
@@KodiakD2 thanks I understand now
Where and how can I craft the commemoration?
It's a red border drop from running/completing deep stone Crypt. You could technically get it from the first chest of the raid without ever doing an encounter, but the odds of that are extremely low for getting it once through the free chest, let alone 5 times
I prefer heal nades to use another fragment and marksman’s dodge to reload my weapon
Question about this build, how well does Malfeasance pair with it? I've been hearing that, this season particularly, Crimson & Malfeasance are just deadly
not as good because im pretty sure the explosion doesnt get buffed by lucky pants only the handcannon shots also it doesnt shoot as fast as crimson
Malfeasance pairs perfectly with it! It's damage is below Crimson against non Taken enemies, but against taken its actually a bit more damage than Crimson. So depending on the activity you could absolutely use malfeasance
New here… how did you get 5 solar class fragments? I can only equip 3
Check your Aspects, some only allow a certain amount of slots
I feel like this math is off.. have any numbers to back this up?
Lucky pants (600% = 7x)
Radiant (25% = 1.25x)
3 kinetic surge (22% = 1.22x)
Overcharged(25% = 1.25x)
Disruption break (50% =1.5x)
Tether or Tractor cannon(30% = 1.3)
Assuming our base damage per shot starts at 1(to keep it simple) we have 1×7x1.25x1.22x1.25x1.5x1.3 which gives us 26.02.
To find the % increase we subtract our base damage and then divide by it. So 26.02 - 1 is 25.02, divided by 1 is 25.02. Multiply by 100 to get it to a percentage and 2502%
I wasn't able to apply all buffs and debuffs at once as I did this all solo. But the calus clip in the beginning is overcharged, radiant, 2 or 3 kinetic surge mods, lucky pants, and disruption break and the math checks out on that. Just keep in mind his boss crit % and boss vs minor enemy base damage boost
@@KodiakD2 you're simply saying these are multiplicitive?
@Michael Drury Yep
@KodiakD2 thanks for the info
Third vid I’ve seen on this today. Guess lucky pants are getting nerfed.
What stat do u want more resilience what??
I like lucky pants as well.. using it for the past few days..
One question.. in the video you are saying 600% Lucky Pants + 25% Radiant +22% Kinetic Weapon Surge = 968% Dmg increase.
Am I missing something? Or is it not calculated 6*1,25*1,22? -> 9,15 -> 915%.
@@PinkPanda0612 x3 is still 22%, I should have specified that the 915% is just with 2 kinetic surge mods(17%). All good!
With this build I'm wearing more pistols than Buster Scruggs.
Last Word, Ace of Spades, Crimson, Malfeasence, Lumina, Hawkmoon, Sturm, Sunshot!
Does it still work in the new season?
Only disappointment is LoS doesn't have taken as much and I can't have as fun w malfeasance
Yeah it's a rough, more taken groups would definitely help malfeasance
Hang on a second, did you just say that golden gun got buffed by the kinetic damage buff?!......just had to look that up. No way! The more you learn!
another good hand cannon with this is malfeasance.
Does anyone know how to get the hat in this video
Can this be updated for the new season of the deep🥲as a returning player this build looks fun ash
@kodiak, what stats should i prio 1st to 100 on this build?
I would say resilience just cause resilience is THE stat for PvE in general. After that probably discipline just to get your grenade back for scorches
How do you get lucky oants nowadays?
@@KodiakD2 the build isnt bad its just difficult to pull off unless youve put time into it 🤙what do u think of running a different nade, like tripmine, that will guarantee kill a red bar if u attach it
can you test this against Riven?
How do u get 5 fragments ??
i tried so many times to get yeehaw hat but game said no 😢
would this work w/ erianas?
It does, I think in damage testing its the highest dps even though it cant max out stacks its just not as comfy.
It does but it has reduced potency. Eriana's gets 30% instead of 60% per shot and due to its fire rate can't naturally get 10 stacks up. Still hits really hard though
Meu Deus que dano foi esse de carmesim?
Seems like a fun build I'd like to try! Just curious though, how would you alter it if you were going up against overloads?
I would probably just use an smg for Overload rounds, especially for higher difficulty content. In lower tiers you can actually just out damage their healing effect with lucky pants too
Cowboy up sub. Thank TikTok bro 😁
wondering if you happen to have a void tether build in the pipes, and or one already up. i loved being a support hunter and generating light like it's candy for everyone. Ether way, love the content and builds! keep it up guardian!
I have plans to do one after warlock and titan again!
Where do you get that hat?!
