We held onto Greg Roman and didn't upgrade our recieving room . IF the ravens organization saw what Lamar needed after 2018 and 2019 . There would be no questions about Lamars clutch factor and ability to read the field. Thanks for the breakdown.
Great analysis of Lamar's strength in the pocket and his quick reaction to reading the defenses. I could only imagine what this man could have done if he was on a team with good offensive coaches like Shanahan or Reid. Lamar is a top-three QB hands down!
This is a good film breakdown. Jackson has done this the whole time. Imagine if the Ravens had a GOOD WR. Bateman looks the part but he's been injured for his first two years.
Your "available since 2019" also fails to mention that EDC picked Hollywood as the first receiver of the draft and missed on, among others, DK Metcalf and Terry McLaurin. I also appreciate you not overrating Mark Andrews as so many have.
Can’t really include every single detail in the video without it becoming hard to follow or too much to consume smoothly. Plus you can always point to any team that should have picked a different player at draft time than they did, so the larger point is really about their team building philosophy.
This is such a great breakdown of not only how talented Lamar is at reading defenses and manipulating defenders, but also how he places balls to allow his receivers to protect themselves. Awesome content!
A passer rating of 68 in the playoffs. A completion percentage under 60. 3 tds vs 5 interceptions. 1-3 playoff record. Compared to Joe Burrow with a QBR of 98.7 in the playoffs. 5 wins vs 2 losses. Josh Allen with a QBR of 107 in the playoffs with 4 playoff wins. Jackson is not an elite quarterback. All of the jock riders have nothing to back up their arguments but their feelings. Jackson is a checkers player in a chess tournament.
The problem is he’s injured a lot, because there’s too many designed run plays - and that leads to top WRs not wanting to go there. Also, the contract would have been done if he had an agent
He's only been injured the last 2 years. And this last year he'd hVe played at least 2 of the 5 he misses if he had financial security as opposed to being on an expiring LOW contract. When the Ravens had a chance to pay him after his MVP season but they allowed him play for just over $1m 😮 Now they have the NERVE to ask for a discount
😂😂😂 special where is the ring 🤣🤣 lmfao where is the AFC championship 🏆 mahomes got two rings burrow won a AFC championship and been to the super bowl we 1&3 in the playoffs he's choked up in the playoffs missed 11 games in two seasons 😂
Lamar screwed himself. They offered him the second highest contract which is his worth. Nobody is giving him what he wants and there is a reason he still has no offers. The Ravens can't even match certain teams offers like if ATL put one in. We don't have the cap space to outbid them. So if a team like that really wants to pay him he'd been gone already. The guy is a great QB but to say the other stuff about the contract after it's been made clear by the NFL NOBODY wants him then that's silly. Mahomes took a team friendly contract and Joe Burrow even recently came out and said he won't be asking for ridiculous money because it's about the team.
That first pass is not as you described, at all: the decision is correct, but the pass is poorly executed. First it's too flat, it should be floated with no over the top defender to beat, let the receiver run under it. Instead he throws it on a line, which means it has to be accurate, and it's not, it's too far inside, so the WR can't get to it. That's 100% Jackson's error, and 0% on the WR. Also, great play design by Roman who is the irrational fall guy for Jackson's struggles. A lot of the young QBs struggle to throw outside the numbers. Mahomes struggles with this too. Jackson CAN make all the throws, BUT he's inconsistent, and that kills drives. If his mechanics and the way he resets his feet in the pocket ever become consistent his game will elevate. The second pass is a great example of bad mechanics that a better QB could have delivered with a good side shuffle and a strong base, but paid off, but clearly a pass like that is going to fail at a high rate. He's also inconsistent at beating the blitz and has gotten consistently wrecked by cover-0 in several games despite available answer's in Roman's plays. Jackson can do everything sometimes, but his mechanics and processing are both inconsistent, which is why his passing numbers are suppressed. I think he's shown a willingness to keep developing his game, so I hope he'll take that next step so his talent can show throw in the passing game with more regularity.
This is completely wrong. The pass intended for ricard was on point, and cian's argument as to what happened was also on point. If you watched the game live or on repeat (broadcast angle), you'd see that ricard stuttered and slowed up mid-route for no reason (he's a fullback, and doesn't know how to run routes), which made the throw look like an overthrow. Ricard didn't run hard all the way through the route, because he has no idea how to run routes. This is an issue that constantly showed up on ravens film, as the ravens constantly deployed players in patterns who have no idea how to run routes. Something similar happened in the jags game re; josh oliver. Everyone thought lamar overthrew oliver on a potential TD when in reality, oliver slowed his momentum mid-route for no reason. Had he run all the way through the route like a good route runner, he would've been in position to catch the TD. He didn't, and made the play look like a lamar overthrow. The ravens did a terrible job at surrounding lamar with functional route runners throughout his career. This past offseason, they've tried to rectify that w/ Odell + Zay Flowers. Let's see if they can do what the ricard's and oliver's couldn't.
LameBrain JackGlass is a RB playing the QB position. Due to age, he is breaking down...couldn't finish the last 2 seasons. His legs will give out in 2 years and JackGlass will be useless, as he cannot be a successful pocket passer.
Tell that to the teams offering him $200+ million guaranteed to play QB… you know the position he’s not good at according to you… but what do I know :/
As an Eagles fan, the Ravens will get rid of Lamar Jackson due to his non exclusive tag and draft an QB like Max Duggan from TCU since Max Duggan can throw the cannon out of the football and can run fast too. He can play against Bengals QB Joe Burrow, Browns QB Deshaun Watson and Steelers QB Kenny Pickett in the 2023 season as the starting QB. Lamar Jackson won't stay on the team so the Ravens will draft Max Duggan in the 1st round of the 2023 NFL Draft. So Max Duggan to be in an Ravens jersey to be sold in stores.
@@andrewcroken7072 at this point it’s a good chance that Lamar is no longer a Raven but to lose him for just 2 1st round picks is a fireable offense, so I’m assuming they are matching any offer that Lamar gets.
@@andrewcroken7072 if I were EDC (the ravens GM) no matter how good a roster I build it doesn’t matter if i have the 2nd best QB. As an eagles fan you should know this considering how your last game went… what are the odds of any of the QBs in this draft being better than Lamar, I’d say slim to none, then select that QB and hope he develops in time before you’re on the hot seat.
@@Cianaf By the time he retires he will be closer to a Billion than he is to zero. It would make a difference if he only makes 600M? He just turned down 200m guaranteed. He could get at least one more of those and maybe one more after.
Jackson made $9.5 million in his first four seasons, you can half that for taxes, so he’s on around $5 million. If he plays this year with no extensions, he’ll make $32 million. So at 27 years of age he’ll have made at the very best $25 million. If he then somehow gets his desired contract next offseason, he’ll make $240 guaranteed, which you can again half for taxes basically. So now we’re talking $160-170 million best case scenario when he’s 33 years old. Maybe you’re thinking of baseball contracts, but Tom Brady played for 20+ years, made more money than anyone and didn’t get anywhere close to a billion.
@@Cianaf Times change and money becomes inflated. Tom Brady didn't get offered 200m guaranteed for any of his contracts, lol. Let alone turn it down, lolol. Lamar in one contract will be around a qtr billion. His next contract might be 1 Billion by itself the way Joe Bribem is inflating away the dollars value. Taxes aren't part of the equation. If that were the case nobody would play for any Commiefornia or NY teams.
Mr Fahey from the Clan Fahey . Well done. A calculator is a simple but very handy device. With a generational talent like Lamar he should be closer to a Lombardi Trophy.
