There just wasn't a team in the league that was willing to commit to building around Lamar's skill set at the time, but the Ravens weren't afraid to take that chance and leaned into progressing the mobile QB schemes specifically for him, while also developing his accuracy as a passer. Now, it seems like more people are warming up to the dynamics of the mobile QB, and how it can help pull defenses thin, but Lamar still comes from a special breed of athlete.

Time will tell. The pocket QB's have a very long success record winning Super Bowl Trophies. LJ8 has obviously chocked in big games unable to connect on the easiest passes immediately followed by a fumble in the AFC Championship. As a Ravens fan, LJ8 is very fun to watch during the regular season but Ravens fans sphincter's tighten greatly Watching Lamar occassionally choke during the post-season. If you are a passenger on a 737 Max and the right engine is on fire you will either have a captain/crew who is cool under great pressure or he will choke. I would not trust LJ8 to be an airliline captain without a co-pilot in a major emergency even if he was excellent during during normal fight operations. The Airlines through flight simulators know who their top ICE MAN pilots are prior to an event, but it takes more than one star to save the day. LJ8 has been throw into the simulator multiple times and failed at every major stress point bc all the weight was put on his shoulders alone However, with Derrick Henry balancing the responsibilities of LJ8 it is not more likely than ever the Ravens have a great opportunity to win if not dominate all post-season games. I see an emotional maturity in LJ8 that I really like. He started very young,, so emotional maturity cannot be expected immediately especially when he is breaking multiple records. Record breaking events can distract and hinder the emotional maturity process. At this juncture, Winning the big one is the only thing that matters since a team cannot ask for more talent, MVP's, records, Etc, Etc. The Ravens are fun to watch even if they do not win the big one. The style of QB does not matter if you are over achieving as LJ8 has done repeatedly. I watch RL52 play his last play live in SB47 in NOLA - an end of a great ERA. I was with Ray and his family when his statue was presented. I told my friend Dwayne Starks 22, Mr. pick-6 from SB35, T.he Ravens will not see another SB for 10+ years and that came true. LJ8 has about 4 to 8 years left until he peaks with statistically averages There is still plenty of time to win the big won. My only hope is he does not choke repeatedly in post-season. If the Ravens fall short I hope it is bc someone else screwed up, not LJ8. Additionally, it is highly unfair to apply so much pressure that has been put on one player to carry the full weight of the offense. LJ8 will crush it if he can stay calm. LJ8 has been throw into the simulator multiple times and failed at every major stress point bc all the weight was put on his shoulders alone However, with Derrick Henry balancing the responsibilities of LJ8 it is not more likely than ever the Ravens have a great opportunity to win if not dominate all post-season games. I see an emotional maturity in LJ8 that I really like. He started very young,, so emotional maturity cannot be expected immediately especially when he is breaking multiple records. Record breaking events can distract and hinder the emotional maturity process. At this juncture, Winning the big one is the only thing that matters since a team cannot ask for more talent, MVP's, records, Etc, Etc. The Ravens are fun to watch even if they do not win the big one. The style of QB does not matter if you are over achieving as LJ8 has done repeatedly. I watch RL52 play his last play live in SB47 in NOLA - an end of a great ERA. I was with Ray and his family when his statue was presented. I told my friend Dwayne Starks 22, Mr. pick-6 from SB35, T.he Ravens will not see another SB for 10+ years and that came true. LJ8 has about 4 to 8 years left until he peaks with statistically averages There is still plenty of time to win the big won. My only hope is he does not choke repeatedly in post-season. If the Ravens fall short I hope it is bc someone else screwed up, not LJ8. Additionally, it is highly unfair to apply so much pressure that has been put on one player to carry the full weight of the offense. LJ8 will crush it if he can stay calm. Joe Flacco & Trent Dilfer stayed very calm on the field and have rings eventhough they were very emotional on the sidelines. Cool in the cockpit with the crew calm while under pressure wins the game. During a commercial break, "Look that's John Candy in the crowd" As Joe Montana pointed, while behind, told his huddle prior to the winning drive in SB23!
