  • Lamar was barely a first-round QB; 31 teams were scared to take him. But Lamar proved them all wrong; this was the game in which he became an NFL star.

Lamar really went from 'running back jokes' to cooking the 49ers #1 defense for 5 TDs while his WRs were in the hospital 😭 Bro's breaking Vick's records while throwing dots that Flacco could never - MVP ain't even a debate this year

Loving it! Remember Ozzie’s first two picks are Hall of Fame players and Lamar is his mic drop! He ended his tenure as general manager with a pick questioned by pundits, but he was right again! Only Ozzie look at the draft and believed Joe Flacco could exceed Matt Ryan as a professional player. He was simply the best general manager to do it!

Lamar has had one of the quickest rises from “Very good” tier, to “all time great” tier. Ravens fans have seen it this whole time, but the guy is simply one of the best ever. It’s a shame casual fans let team results dictate what they think of a player when the film is right there for them to watch.

You could call Lamar a pocket passer who is also the best athlete at the position. He's been lethal this season from the pocket in year 2 of Monken's offense. Gone are the days of defense blitzing every play to beat Roman's scheme, like on the Thursday Night Game in Miami in 2021

  • @dfloriza

There just wasn't a team in the league that was willing to commit to building around Lamar's skill set at the time, but the Ravens weren't afraid to take that chance and leaned into progressing the mobile QB schemes specifically for him, while also developing his accuracy as a passer. Now, it seems like more people are warming up to the dynamics of the mobile QB, and how it can help pull defenses thin, but Lamar still comes from a special breed of athlete.

You can't tell an HC to sell his soul like that then later expect him to go back to winning. Cripes, they're named after a character in a poem written by the same guy who wrote "The Telltale Heart." This has been eating away at Harbs ever since.

He can't improvise. Week 1 the failed last TD? He ran that play _3 times in a row!!!_ He already is showing signs of early-onset dementia & that isn't a joke. For large chunks of games he forgets over 90% of the plays &/or can't shift within them. Again, week 1: he started rushing with Henry in the 1st quarter, then switched to Lamar in the 2nd & 3rd, then back to Henry in the 4th. But he never once mixed it up going back & forth.

I refer to #2 as the "Michael Jordan Effect", where he's mostly criticized because he not on their team, but if he were he'd be the best thing since sliced bread. The rest are those who think only a Super Bowl win constitutes a "great QB" while a smaller percentage has more...primitive opinions.

Haters always forget that for yrs LJ did things with nobody's at WR. He didn't have diggs like Allen, didn't have Tyreek hill like Mahomes, didn't have aj brown and D. Smith like Hurts. All superstar WRs.

Time will tell. The pocket QB's have a very long success record winning Super Bowl Trophies. LJ8 has obviously chocked in big games unable to connect on the easiest passes immediately followed by a fumble in the AFC Championship. As a Ravens fan, LJ8 is very fun to watch during the regular season but Ravens fans sphincter's tighten greatly Watching Lamar occassionally choke during the post-season. If you are a passenger on a 737 Max and the right engine is on fire you will either have a captain/crew who is cool under great pressure or he will choke. I would not trust LJ8 to be an airliline captain without a co-pilot in a major emergency even if he was excellent during during normal fight operations. The Airlines through flight simulators know who their top ICE MAN pilots are prior to an event, but it takes more than one star to save the day. LJ8 has been throw into the simulator multiple times and failed at every major stress point bc all the weight was put on his shoulders alone However, with Derrick Henry balancing the responsibilities of LJ8 it is not more likely than ever the Ravens have a great opportunity to win if not dominate all post-season games. I see an emotional maturity in LJ8 that I really like. He started very young,, so emotional maturity cannot be expected immediately especially when he is breaking multiple records. Record breaking events can distract and hinder the emotional maturity process. At this juncture, Winning the big one is the only thing that matters since a team cannot ask for more talent, MVP's, records, Etc, Etc. The Ravens are fun to watch even if they do not win the big one. The style of QB does not matter if you are over achieving as LJ8 has done repeatedly. I watch RL52 play his last play live in SB47 in NOLA - an end of a great ERA. I was with Ray and his family when his statue was presented. I told my friend Dwayne Starks 22, Mr. pick-6 from SB35, T.he Ravens will not see another SB for 10+ years and that came true. LJ8 has about 4 to 8 years left until he peaks with statistically averages There is still plenty of time to win the big won. My only hope is he does not choke repeatedly in post-season. If the Ravens fall short I hope it is bc someone else screwed up, not LJ8. Additionally, it is highly unfair to apply so much pressure that has been put on one player to carry the full weight of the offense. LJ8 will crush it if he can stay calm. Joe Flacco & Trent Dilfer stayed very calm on the field and have rings eventhough they were very emotional on the sidelines. Cool in the cockpit with the crew calm while under pressure wins the game. During a commercial break, "Look that's John Candy in the crowd" As Joe Montana pointed, while behind, told his huddle prior to the winning drive in SB23!
