I’ve watched nfl breakdown/film channels for well over 5 years now, and this is easily a top 5 video I’ve seen. Just excellent work. Herbert for his whole career has been surrounded by terrible coaching and defensive support. His run game is also the worst in the league since he entered. Other than Keenan Allen (who’s also old, slow, and is no longer a vertical threat), he’s had pretty much nothing to work with in terms of pass catchers. And other than 2021, his offensive lines have been bottom 5 every season. As we saw as soon as Herbert went out with injury, he’s the only reason the chargers were even able to compete in games over the last 3 seasons. Without him they’re the worst team in the league. He’s so great that he’s expected to overcome bad coaches, defense, run game, pass protection, and receivers. And for people who say “he has Allen and Williams”, those two have barley ever been on the field together since Herbert was drafted as one of them is always injured, plus Williams is extremely overrated due to making a crazy contested catch every once in a while. On a play by play basis, he wasn’t that good. He’s like this generous Brandon Lloyd. A guy who’s an above average receiver who casual fans overrated because he makes about 10 crazy contested catches every year. The chargers basically need new players at every position other than QB.
I would push back a bit on Williams, I don't think he's overrated. He's athletic and he succeeds in contested catches above the average ratio for NFL WRs. That's not nothing, you can do much worse and still get as many snaps as Williams. His only problem is he does not get these snaps. Either he's injury prone or contesting catches is risky and leads to injuries (i.e. it's a bad signature move to have) or both. Also, with a better OL maybe you wouldn't have to throw a contested pass? Hopefully there's good things waiting for him in NYJ. Justin Herbert also has a lot less talent on the offensive line and WR core than most QBs. I believe now that he has an upgraded line and some young speedy talent it’s going to look a lot different. People think he isn’t clutch but a lot of his interceptions were not due to him but his pass catchers dropping passes or having to force a play when the offensive schemes fail him
Kellen Moore was not the genius Mike McCarthy was 😱…… he gotta go✌️ we cleaning house…. Herbert is the best of the best and would flourish with a winning offensive seasoned HC like Harbaugh. Period

QBs w/ strong arms, sure they can get in tight windows but a side effect is drops. Its not all on the WRs. Not to mention he's been pressing and been taking bad sacks (allen was doing the same but has been balling when the bills discovered handing the ball off) but . I'm in on Jackson and Mahomes being top 2 but you can't say that Herbert (who a good OL, an ace WR and a running game) has been better than Stafford (who had nothing but Puka for 1/2 the season), Purdy or Dak this year. Maybe he gets there w/ better coaching (like Dak) or actually having a home game sometime in his career.
You obviously haven't watched much of the chargers this season to say that Herbert has a good oline and running game. The oline is below average and the running game is non existent. Only part you got right is Herbert has a good receiver but Keenan is the only one healthy on that team that is above average.
Im not sure if you watched the video, but you can clearly see the o line has been awful since corey linsley has went out. Also, there has been no "run game" for the chargers, ekeler is the worst he's been, but he has never been a great rusher, more so just a good catcher. If you're gonna comment on it, at least make it a less obvious you don't watch chargers games.
