Thank you for the detailed explanation. I have had 2 Rough Collies in the past, the last one died about a year ago and I am now on a waiting list for a breeder of smooth collies. My latest collie is on the homepage of my UA-cam Channel on the first image of my introduction video if you would like to see her. You have really beautiful dogs!
You are welcome 😇 Great to hear that someone watches the videos and finds them useful. I will go and check your introduction video of course 👍 Collies are lovely dogs, very smart I would say. Our dog seems to understand a lot of words, more than most of the breeds I have had earlier 👌
@@jouniantero Yes that is totally true, they are so smart and can understand without words. My first collie I had raised in a traditional way, but with my last collie, I just did not need to say a word to her, she seemed to understand what I wanted and thought without me even asking in words, I never needed to really raise her, she seemed to know everything in advance what she needed to do and she was always very polite and well behaved, it was really amazing, I miss her so much. I have had Belgian Malinois too, these are also great and smart, but nothing beats the special and gentle nature of the collie. :) Hope to see more video's of your dog family soon, I subscribed. Hope you are having a good day and have fun with your beautiful collies!
Thanks for the lovely comments 😇 I have been really busy working since december, not too many days off. After this week it will hopefully calm down a little so I will have the time to do some videos again 👍 Thanks for the sub, much appreciated 👌☺️
My smooth collie was very maternal. She would go into what I called false heat, she was fixed. To get her over this time we’d give her a kitten when one was available. She would guard the ducks nest that was on the edge of the creek that ran by our house. Not that the ducks weren’t happy about this. She would herd any deer that came near the house, more then once I came out to go to work and there she was holding a deer in the yard. I’d have to call her off.
Oh that is a great story, thank you for sharing 👍 Our girl gets a little weird during her heat, but nothing like that though. What do you mean by "false heat"? I am just curious 😄 So she actually was not in heat but acted like it anyway? Isla has had some strange behaviour after her heat but luckily the animals (squirrels, bunnies and so on) nearby have not had to suffer from her antics so far 👌😄
very useful info with a sense of humour ... i like that a lot. thank you for putting this together
Thanks for the nice words 👍
