Keep in mind that there was no chase in 1979, if you could find a Bathurst mod without the chase you should be able to beat the time.
I'd say convert the 1960s version

Also keep in mind the old surfacing and the lack of exit curbs to hold you on the track.

also the fact that its a video game and can in no way simulate the conditions of the day brock did his best lap, in a video game they will be perfect and the car doesnt need to be eased off like it did IRL you can just drive it like you stole it without worry. what ever time would be set brock would be able to beat it in the same conditions handedly.
Even a computer game doesn't have the style,grace or balls of Brockie.
That in reality is a scary track. The speed limit 360 days a year is 60kph, across the top 60ks, which is tons in a normal car. So much respect for the drivers and their cars. I did it in my V8 Kingswood in 1981, before the chase, speedo jumped to 120mph (approx 200 kph) over the third hump, don't know if I was going that quick, or the tyres were in the air, either way I was very awake and alert.

Went around it the day after the race on year, also in a old v8 kingswood , and that old boat was howling all four tyres at 80kph over the top of the mountain.
I wouldn't say 60 is "tons". It is a racetrack quality road after all.

@@naturesmagicalscenerieswit1876 I suspect the guy driving the car is trying to do it in Brock's 79 winning car, so, despite the technicality of the chase being there now, you're right, it would be fairly easy, if you happened to have a similar spec a9x hatch in your shed, some transport to the track, a campsite, a lot of money, etc, and you weren't too concerned about the possibility of sticking the said a9x into the wall...
