That Yon Chak is called Petai in Malaysia. It grows in huge trees larger then veppilai tree. It is very good for Kidney.

Yes the same one, we in south india never use this for cooking. But I saw them in Mexican markets in the USA and they all buy them for cooking and they prepare some dishes.

4.23...its called PETAI in malaysia. Its has strong smell. But taste good. Its can eaten raw also.... but got very strong smell. My house helper( from kanyakumari ) told me in Srilanka also has this PETAI. If you come to malaysia can taste it... we can cook it as vegie or non vegie
yung chek is known as Petai in Malaysia.It taste smelly but nice to eat. It prepared with chili paste and mixed anchovies.It said to cleanes the kidneys.
