I relate to all of these, Melissa. Thank you for sharing your process. I especially enjoy your reminder that we work to live, not the other way around. I also appreciate the importance of a wind-down evening routine with yin yoga and non-screen time.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment about what stood out to you in this video. The evening routine has been a game-changer for me! Do you have an evening routine?
Hi Melissa , you look as beautiful as always. I will be 70 Dec 1. Oh wow, yes but thanks to me discovering you so many years ago and introducing me to yoga, I went to yoga teacher training, not to teach but to really become disciplined. For the past 10 years I have a morning and nightly routine that works for me . AM, early riser , about 5:30-6 am , stretch before I get out of bed, and Pray… As my coffee is brewing I do even more stretches , many movements even walking backwards around my kitchen island. Breakfast, bible study. Afternoons are working out with light weights, ab work , legs etc. dinner , walk my dog ,then YIN yoga time every night religiously 364 days a year yes, i skip 1 day. LOL. A little Netflix , bedtime is 9:30 I will tell you, my bone density is of a 45 year old, I have no arthritis, or joint issues. ( I had trust me years ago but YOGA changed it all around) I walk quickly eat healthy and do not deprive myself of a treat now and then. My motto since I was in my 20’s is everything in moderation. So, with all that said I firmly believe in rituals , good healthy habits, yoga, and common sense.
Hello Christine! Love those morning and evenings routines. Fantastic about your health with your bone density and your joints being so good! I strive to have that when I'm 70. You are an inspiration! I'm going back over your routine to make sure I do the things you do! Rituals, healthy habits, yoga and common sense. Thank you Christine!
I have given up refined sugar...well, I am still in the process, but i really notice that it is so good for me and finally I also get my taste back. All the best, Melissa!
Thank you for sharing Melissa, I can totally relate to what you are saying. Coffee was a big thing for me, caused most of my anxiety, I also suffered from migraines daily, however after taking Magnesium supplement slowly it went away, I’m pretty sure it a combination of different lifestyle changes. Worry, anxiety and stress caused chronic pain throughout my body, the more I thought about, the more I done research on my symptoms the worse it got! I cut down, coffee, sugar, changed my diet started exercising I started seeing dramatic changes not only in my physical health also mental health. Your 100% right about having that balance about work life, it doesn’t matter how much you enjoy your work, it can still drain you, having that daily schedule is an excellent idea, sometimes I have struggled with for a long time, but I’m working on it. Hope to see more of your content, take care 😊❤
I'm so glad that you were able to relieve migraines with lifestyle changes. Coffee is definitely a no go for me too. I also cannot tolerate sugar. Thanks for your encouragement. I'm working on some videos right now and there will be more coming soon!
So sorry to hear. I feel your pain. There are many remedies to relieve your migraine(s) quickly that I want to share with you. We often talk about the vagus nerve, but not often the sacral nerve. Do you also have nocturia?
I've never heard of nocturia, I had a quick look into it. But I don't believe I have that. There are of course a lot of co-conditions that affect the nervous system. Thanks for watching.
So happy you don't have nocturia! For vagal nerve, have you ever heard of or tried VeRelief [Prime]? You place it behind your ear. Migraines have different causes. The main one is probably because of gallbladder congestion. Locate you gallbladder, press firmly in with three fingers for 1 to 2 minutes -- and you will notice relief quickly if that is the cause. For long-term relief, try Bhumi Amla, an ayurvedic herb that clears congestion of the gallbladder. Please list what foods you typically eat. You want to avoid high oxalate foods such as spinach, almond flour, raspberry, chocolate, okra, etc. @@YogaLifestylewithMelissa
So can I ask, who helps you pay your bills? Are you married and have a significant other to help you or do you foot things all on your own in your nice house that it looks like you are in. I don’t think your financial stress re-evaluation for your nervous system works for those who have no one and only have themselves. I mean I can understand how it would be hard to fathom for you if you weren’t in that place/space to understand true financial distress & place no blame at all. You can only give from your own perspective & life experience yet it is far different from those who are single & have not one person to count on.
You are absolutely right, everybody's situation is unique and financial stress is something that definitely contributes to nervous system activation which is why I spoke about it in the video. I appreciate you sharing your lived experience. Thanks for being here and watching my videos.

Nocturia is night time urination.
