Blake this has been the most helpful video I've watched in a long time. Just started a small service business 18 months ago, my Google profile was weak but I'm now very confident i can catch up to (and surpass?) my competitors. thank you!
Thank you Blake for these wonderful tips on how make GMB work more me. I’m most definitely gonna give them a try. Post more pictures and look into my query’s to see how I can boost my business. Much appreciated!!! 😁🙌🏼
Wow 50% is high! If a business provides a quality service/product and then politely asks for a review, most are surprised how likely a happy customer will leave a Google review!

On your video you showed as an example, one that was at least 1 min. 30 seconds. Didn't look like you were hesitant about it being too large. Help Please. Thank you!
Hi Nancy, the rules or "guidelines" for GMB videos have changed a bit. Currently, Google is recommending up to 30 seconds long and up to 75MB. I think I got mine in there before they tightened up the guidelines. See the bottom: support.google.com/business/answer/6103862

Hi Gaston, fun business! Yes, I was going to recommend to open a second Google My Business listing. The businesses serve two different customers and make sense that you'd need two different listings. Is that working for you?
-> QUESTION: #11 Secondary Categories - where is the link to review over 2k without having to do so manually? Thanks. Just a fantastic video! Thank you for your professional delivery. I'm checking out all of your stuff now. Cannot believe how good this is! Thanks also for the free 2020 Google My Business Checklist!
Hi Sharon, thanks for the kind words!! I’m glad you’re finding it helpful :). Regarding the categories, there’s actually about 4K now 😳. Here is an updated list www.google.com/amp/s/pixelcutlabs.com/blog/google-my-business-categories/amp/
I live in Toronto and there's companies using keywords to have their My Business appear on the right side of search results. For example, I simply type in "drywall and taping" or "toronto wordpress developers" and businesses that have claimed this as their business name pops up on the right side when searched. How does Google handle these type of business names on their search? There's other cases where it won't pop up on the right (but shows on top of page) such as when I type "toronto web design company" in which a business uses this as their business name. All these businesses have 5 star ratings with at least 3 reviews.
Hi Stephen, spam is definitely a problem in Google My Business. Long term it's definitely not a good strategy to add keywords in the GMB Title. However, I looked at a couple of those businesses in Google, and those are actually the business name. There's nothing wrong with that. They went with a generic name that would help them in Google and CTR, instead of a unique brand name. That's going to be a business branding decision.
Go to their maps page and click on Suggest an Edit -- you can change their business "name" to their real business name right there, and the change should appear almost immediately, just remember to refresh your page when checking.
Hi Blake thank you for the tips! Here's my question how do you add the Products and Services like 10:32. I only have the following: OVERVIEW< UPDATES, REVIEWS and ABOUT. Thank you!!
Hi NicAmazing, you'll have to lot into your back end of Google My Business. You should see "Products" and "Services" on the left side. "Products" just came out of beta so it should be available for everyone!
Ha! It's the frames are from a startup that I consulted for a couple years ago. Unfortunately, they went out of business. They are very similar to the classic Silhouette frames www.silhouette.com/us/us/optical-eyewear/essence/do/4540

I started Using the Cartoon Name Captain America when I was doing Karate while in the Navy 50 years ago. I chose that as my fighting name because, he had no special abnormal skills (at least then). The simplest of Super Hero's. My GMB is Cadillac Sales in CNY. Take a look.
That's true, I've never thought of it like that. Personally, Wolverine is my favorite. Nice business! #1 and easiest tip is to just keep uploading pics of those happy customers with their beautiful cars. Upload as often as you can!
Since I am trying to make the site Phone friendly I am really concerned about too much content. What I am doing is deleting and replacing those pictures every week or so. I am thinking that it might be better to even use them as a Post, then Google will pull them down automatically, keeping content fresh.
@@CaptAmerica12 I would say yes to re-using the photos as Posts, including text for more context is a great idea. Regarding the Photo upload, you want to add as many photos as possible. Google My Business's Photo algorithm will show your best photos at the top based off what people click on the most. Right now, when I go to your Photos idk if you only made 5 car sales or 500. Because you're only showing a few happy customers. Adding photos of all your happy customers will blow away potential customers with your success, and they will think, "I want to do business with him!"
Google is not approving the phone number for Cove Roofing Group GMB. We have submitted multiple emails asking them to approve it, but they keep saying that they are looking into it. Do you have any idea what could be the possible reason for this?
Hi there. Glad you were able to implement the tips :) I'm noticing small Google My Business feature variations depending on what country you are in. Messaging may not be available in Belgium. Spitballing, may have to do with messaging rates or cell phone use.
I would like to thank you for the great content in the videos I really appreciate it.I have question for you here can I use one Goole my business to two different business or has to one Google my business for each business? Let say Real Estate and Digital marketing consultant? for example. Thank you so much.
Hi Genis, glad you enjoyed the vid! Regarding your question, you most definitely need two listings (if possible)! Each business will have a different GMB "category". It will be almost impossible for a "real estate company" category to ever rank in the 3 pack for "digital marketing" searches. The reason I said "if possible" is because to have two GMB listings you need to have two addresses. If you only have one location, one of the businesses could operate out of your home. You don't need to make your home address as a public business address, however, I recommend it because it's been shown to rank a business higher than businesses without an address. Good luck!
Hi thanks for the awesome video, i was wondering where i can put on the message feature your are mentioning in the last part of your video, thanks in advange Gijs
Hi Leontine, glad you enjoyed the video! The messaging feature is built into the Google My Business listing that the public sees. If you can't find it on your desktop, it's because it's now only on mobile. Additionally, you now have to activate messaging and edit your welcome message through the GMB App. This is a new update that I'm adding right now to my 2020 Google My Business Domination online course update ;)
Yes, I haven't seen any issues with duplicate content between GMB and a website. They aren't competing for space in Google so I wouldn't expect Google to do this. However, I wouldn't recommend using stock photos (not so much dup content as unoriginal content), unless you must for your industry.
Very informative video. I have a dental clinic in Dubai. Can I use GMB to show the individual doctors in my team with their photos and profile? In which tab can it be done?
You could add their photos with a caption to explain who they are (add a caption through the GMB app). However, you can add a separate GMB listing for each doctor. Read this support.google.com/business/thread/8995336?hl=en
Blake, enjoyed your video! Thank you... Should I be replicating my GMB business page and setting up a one page website w this information. I believe I saw this on a video???
Hi Andrew, you're welcome my friend. If you're referring to the free GMB website, you won't need to set it up if you already have a website. I wouldn't replicate anything from the GMB Listing. But, you could republish some of the reviews on your website.
What your view on the efforts of geo tagging - is the juice from it worth the squeeze? You mentioned that uploading images is very important so this would what I understand take the pics to the next level. Interested in your educated opinion. By the way great video, presentation skills are on point. Well done you.
Thank you my friend, glad you enjoyed the vid. Regarding Geo Tagging, if you have time to do it, go for it! TBH, don't have much hard data on it. I wouldn't recommend a tip like that to the avg business owner because it takes too much effort on their end. In my experience, it is more important for the biz owner to have a simple system to upload quality photos consistently over time. Which I usually recommend on the GMB app. As a marketer, if you have the time, do it!
I don't seem to have business description icon on my Google my business listing page. I have called Google and the call centre either don't understand or just keep fobbing me off.
Great video with some really useful tips for improving my GMB listing. I built and own www.urbanjump.co.uk and we’re now 3 years old and this year my primary focus is to improve our online presence and increase the footfall to our website. I've just followed up on your tip about photos and was amazed to find we had 163,000 photo views in the past month alone!!!
Wow that’s an incredible photo view stat! Nice work, Richard!! It will definitely help persuade parents to bring kids to your biz. Btw just took my son to a bday party at a jump park. Two hours of tramp dodgeball is a great sleep aid...they loved it!
@@BlakeStockton Hahaha, yep 2 hours of crazy jumping fun should guarantee a great night's sleep! I've been trawling through some other great local SEO content these past few weeks and alrady I can see some of the actions I've followed shoot us up the local map packs and organic search results. It;s fantastic to see and the opportunity to grow sales is immense. Exciting stuff
@@rjhand99 Great to hear! Yes, a little work often goes a long way with local SEO. Your business, which I'm sure gets reviewed fairly thoroughly thousands of times each month, can increase customers greatly with some tweaks and extra work. Good luck!!
Hi Blake Google Beta Products is now an option. I enetered two products in they appeared in the search results for a day and then disappeared. How do you keep them there
Hmm. Can you send me a screenshot of what you saw? I'm a little confused by "appeared in the search results". I'd have to see what you saw to help you with that. Typically, a Google Post only lasts 7 days on a Google My Business listing. However, the Products (also may be rebranded to Shop), should be a tab on your mobile Google My Business listing. Again, there are some different moving parts here and I'd have to see what you saw to better understand it :)
Great video. Question... on your GMB page I see you have a “get a quote” button. I can’t figure out how to turn that feature on. Could you help with this? Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it, my friend. Regarding the “get a quote” button. Read a forum about it. Looks like you may be able to trigger it by create the free GMB website and setting the “get a quote” as your main call to action.
You can still create it. In fact it’s a good “citation” aka “link” pointing to your main website. Read another local seo expert’s take on it here: www.semrush.com/blog/local-seo-citation-you-never-knew-you-had/
Thank you best I have found on You tube, Am in Sunny Cyprus and google is just starting to get going here , I own a restaurant and seem I have lost out on the free starter pack as only get it from USA any suggestions would be great , Thanks Chef Dean
Hi Dean, glad you enjoyed the video! Sounds like you be far ahead of your Cyprus restaurant competition in Google! Unfortunately, I believe the"Small Thanks Package From Google" has ended. It was limited to the first 10,000 businesses :/ Hopefully they will bring it back. May be worth checking the website again in a few months. Best, Blake.
I was wondering, do you think google my business is only useful for brick and mortar or could an e-commerce business like myself benefit? I checked several of my competitors and none of them seem to have google my business. Thanks.
Hi there, yes, only go through the GMB process if you'd receiving local customers! If you are able to even get a listing, little benefit for an ecommerce biz.
Hi, there. Depends what you edit. If it’s a sketchy address change, possibly will be suspended until there is a manual review and you provide proof of the address change
Hey Blake, I'm a Google business owner named " Rk Apple repairs " in India and I have a question about the GMB website. How can we optimise that website to get it ranked on Google?
Hi Hemant, you can certainly get it to rank for your business name, especially if you connect that website to your Google My Business. However, for a more general keyword, that's going to be difficult because the GMB website is only one page.
hi Blake thank you for this awesome video. it seems to me that the free business package is not available in all the countries. i tried but not been able to find my businessin the search, can you please help me to figure it out??
@@mohammedsameershaik9629 That's great for your website, but what are you doing for your GMB? How are your photos, Posts, do you have a virtual tour, do your photos have captions, are your photos actually of your biz and not stock, how many reviews do you have that include text about the products and services you provide, how many reviews have you replied to? Plus much more. Are you doing these things on a weekly basis? Overall: Is it a great user experience for the potential customers?
The Google My Business website is a good starter website if someone is on a tight budget. For SEO purposes and ranking higher in Google, it's best to get a dedicated website for your restaurant because the GMB website is only one page. However, it is the best free website! I have a video on it :) ua-cam.com/video/nuixV7F3bUQ/v-deo.html
Hi Endah, can you say point are you referring to? For #3, you should be able to reply to all reviews, no? Most GMB features are consistent across countries, however, you are correct, some (such as certain attributes) are not consistent across countries.
In UA-cam I can have multiple accounts and I do have one for photography and another one for drone services. Can I do the same thing in Google my business? Can I have more than one business? Thanks!
Hi there, you can have multiple GMB listings, however, they need to be tied to different locations. So you can't have multiple business listings from one office/storefront or a home.
@@BlakeStockton Thanks so much for answering my question! I couldn't even figure out how to set up a second GMB with a different address but in my case I need them from the same address anyway. I guess the solution unfortunately is that I need to have multiple Google accounts? Seems odd that Google lets me have UA-cam accounts for my photography business and my drone business under the same main account but they won't let me do that for GMB :-( Thanks!

Awesome knowledge. Thank you. Hey Blake would you mind sharing or messaging me what frames and lenses you are wearing about 6 minutes in in the video?

Hi. Do you offer a full training on this topic?
Thanks man , i did al the 13 tips in my business , but 1 tip i not found yet , its the message button to put it on , greets from belgium
Great video ! Do know any sofware for google post .
Hey Libra, thanks!! There are a few software out there now for scheduling Google Posts. Check out dbaplatform.com/schedule-posts-google-my-business
What about duplicate content? If I have a post on my website, can I just copy/past it in GMB without being punished by Google?
That's for the ❤️ but could you let me know the geo tagging part of the comment. Thanks.
As a marketer, if you have the time, do it!
send me an email to info@pmwd.ie & I'll share some reason research & a great tool which makes it very easy to do so you can add it to your "tool box"

I don't seem to have business description icon on my Google my business listing page. I have called Google and the call centre either don't understand or just keep fobbing me off.
Hmm that's interesting. What type of business do you have?
Great video and info.
Thank you, my friend
Great video. Question... on your GMB page I see you have a “get a quote” button. I can’t figure out how to turn that feature on. Could you help with this? Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it, my friend. Regarding the “get a quote” button. Read a forum about it. Looks like you may be able to trigger it by create the free GMB website and setting the “get a quote” as your main call to action.
Blake Stockton, what if I already have a website? I do not need a GMB website.
Can I add caption on photos, how do I do that?
To add captions on photos, you'll have to do that through the GMB mobile app, which is available for both Apple and Android :)
One of the best video on the topic
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good job Blake.
Thank you, my friend. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you .. but if we edit something in GMB ..Google will suspend our Listing
Hi, there. Depends what you edit. If it’s a sketchy address change, possibly will be suspended until there is a manual review and you provide proof of the address change
@@BlakeStockton thank you
@@SeoYass You bet!
Hey Blake,
I'm a Google business owner named " Rk Apple repairs " in India and I have a question about the GMB website.
Hi Koffi, glad you enjoyed the video! Does this link work for you? marketingkit.withgoogle.com/ The whole package was recently rebranded :)
no i didn't work.I think it's notavailable in all the countries
As my business website is listing top in organic search results but unable to gain top in Google my business. Can you suggest me?
What have you been working on to optimize your GMB??

@@mohammedsameershaik9629 That's great for your website, but what are you doing for your GMB? How are your photos, Posts, do you have a virtual tour, do your photos have captions, are your photos actually of your biz and not stock, how many reviews do you have that include text about the products and services you provide, how many reviews have you replied to? Plus much more. Are you doing these things on a weekly basis? Overall: Is it a great user experience for the potential customers?
@@BlakeStockton Yup I have a legal law firm with nearly 204 reviews.

Thank you for making this video! Implementing as many tips as possible.
You bet! Good luck using them to grow your business!
Hey Blake, I have a restaurant and use I Google My Business as my only website. Would you recommend this or a dedicated website?
The Google My Business website is a good starter website if someone is on a tight budget. For SEO purposes and ranking higher in Google, it's best to get a dedicated website for your restaurant because the GMB website is only one page. However, it is the best free website! I have a video on it :) ua-cam.com/video/nuixV7F3bUQ/v-deo.html
Love your #13
Thanks Lien! Think messaging will only get more popular. Recently saw a study on how the younger generations despise calling places on the phone.
You are really great. Why do you give this information for free. LOL.
Point #3 does not available if you live outside the selected countries...I'm from Indonesia so, yeah, not available for me.
Hi Endah, can you say point are you referring to? For #3, you should be able to reply to all reviews, no?
Most GMB features are consistent across countries, however, you are correct, some (such as certain attributes) are not consistent across countries.
i asked my customers to review me and google shut me down after 5 reviews in one day saying to many reviews compared to other companies like mine.
@@BlakeStockton
Thanks so much for answering my question!
I couldn't even figure out how to set up a second GMB with a different address but in my case I need them from the same address anyway.
I guess the solution unfortunately is that I need to have multiple Google accounts?
Seems odd that Google lets me have UA-cam accounts for my photography business and my drone business under the same main account but they won't let me do that for GMB :-(
Thanks!
How do I add the Get Quote button? Thx
Thanks good brother 👏🏾💯
You're welcome, Joe Dox Reis. Good luck, my friend!!
Thanks that was good.
Good to hear you enjoyed it!
Hello please let me is geo location work awesome if post all the images with my geo location added??
Yes, from what I understand, geo tagging is still useful when uploading photos to GMB :)
