Absolutely, including me. But there are ways around this. If you think about it in terms of process, what you want is video content. You work backwards from this objective to figure out all the different methods available. It will depend heavily on the product and audience. Brilliant content. You're oh so correct. People are ALWAYS looking for that human connection. My YT channel does a lot of selling for me. As you said, the call is very different when people find me on UA-cam. All the very best, Cheers Rick [AMENDMENT] Yes, ChatGPT can pump out blog articles. Unfortunately, these are ones that sound like a "BAD" copy editor wrote. I'm guilty of writing my "Zero Draft" with ChatGPT, but I spend a few hours fact checking and rewriting the article before posting it to my blog. At this point writing with AI is like the videos - it fools the uninitiated, but those that know real quality, can see through it. And we could get in to the whole academic discussion about access to information vs. critical thinking, but that would make for a very long blog post. Thank you for your thoughts. Cheers Rick
I really don´t get it regarding AI-generated search answers - there will be sources shown so the best content will get the hit. Do you mean we´ll be not deep diving to the source links and instead keep on asking Gemini instead?
Exactly, a lot of people no longer explore the links but many times stay with Google's short answers that are often totally wrong due to lack of context. And with the amount of junk content that has been generated in search of SEO, that still drives more people to prefer AI answers than results optimized to rank high.
But who decides what is "best content"? AI can't actually tell what is "best content" as AI has no human emotions, plus "best content" will be different for each situation.
Thank you so much for it. And you know what? While it has destroyed digital art completely, those copy & paste bots can not a paint in a video. That's a little light I can finally see!
AI video is coming, but itll mostly jsut be good for b-roll for a while. Talking heads might feel realistic enough soon, but YT is making ppl say when vids are AI generated, and ppl wont want to watch them.
Wow I am certainly quite intuitive when it comes to SEO: I started uploading all my blogs in the forms of videos here on UA-cam. Embed the blog link in description. Well I checked your channel I can see you put a lot of effort into it. In youtube the most important things are the the title of the video and the thumbnail. I am suggesting to learn some copywriting and at least google canva youtube thumbnails there are so many free templates witch give you better results using some design principals.
@@KaiserHustle Over 800 videos with different thumbnail variations. Hmm I think not. Why not try it yourself. Start uploading videos and follow whatever an online guru recommends you. Then come back and tell me I'm wrong.
@@anders_larsson no he's right. I just checked out your thumbnails and I found them to be confusing and uncompelling. It's definitely impacting your view rates to some degree. It's not the only factor but is definitely a big one. UA-cam elevates videos that get engagement and that starts with people clicking. It's like email subject lines. If you're open rate is high, or at least average, then your first impression is working. If not you have issues.
@@dylanrodgers3150 Is that my latest thumbnails or those before June 29. I experimented with a batch of many similar thumbnails using canva and I agree those thumbnails suck. I was experimenting with a different style back then. But the latest I put more effort into them. But from my 800 videos I've mixed it with several hundreds of thumbnails that I put more attention to. There is no way that if I'd make the thumbnails right I would hit crazy numbers in views and subs. If there is a perfect formula for thumbnails it would only affect the results with a few percent. I have 5 years of experience with this and there are many content creators in my niche that say they are struggling with youtube.

Hi @WesMcDowellInc - great video. What would you say to people who are not keen to "put themselves out there" for all to see. I've been runing a travel blog for almost 20 years but like to keep things relatively private (I guess I'm introverted - my blog posts focus on destinations, hotels, etc. rather than myself, and I'm not always travelling)... what would you suggest for someone like me?
Hey Dan, less so for sure. The way this works best is if you can basically work with ppl anywhere, bc they will find you FROM everywhere this way. But there are definitely local businesses who this has worked for, so many doctors out there who I would imagine can only work on patients locally, but they're still killing it.

It's important to note that UA-cam and Google are both part of the same company, Alphabet Inc. While UA-cam has been expanding its services, such as taking over Google Podcasts, it serves a different purpose than Google's search engine. UA-cam is primarily a video-sharing platform, and while it has become a significant source of information and entertainment, Google's search engine remains a fundamental tool for web navigation and information retrieval. The two platforms complement each other and are likely to continue evolving to serve their users in interconnected but distinct ways.

Everything you said is so much in line with my observations and what I hear from people building successful brands on social media. Also, I love the way you created this piece of content. Great, great job! --- Heading over to the next one... ;-)
Depends on what you do. If you don't want to do funny skits with the intention to go viral, you might try collaborating with local guide-type creators. You know, folks who wander around town eating different hamburgers shooting vids about it. If there's that type of content about your industry. The search volume is likely to be pretty low, but you can always hope the algorithm picks up your content.
I've tried Pinterest... it's a GRIND. I think we posted like 20 things a day and it never really caught on. And it won't do the same kind of thing video will do for you. Here's the thing about video... its nobody's "thing" until they get started. I'd love to say there's a great workaround, but I firmly believe that the ones who embrace video will be the winners in the end. Its just where its all headed, and I can't really sugarcoat it unfortunately.
Wes, first of all, thank you for this video, it gave a different perspective on AI. Second, will it confuse the algorithm if I just started making videos of several topics? I have a service business that ranges from babysitting to Notary Public, to selling water systems. What would you suggest I start with?
To Start making money planning, make sense to produce several valuable video on 1 niche, utube shorts will drive your niche to your long form video, in photography I did it all but master of none, baby sitting alone is why should we hire you, what sets your company apart from others, water it's the same thing, why buy from you, your competitors, google has to know who you are ,especially educational videos on each niche, water is endless topic, and all your other niches , hiring a baby sitting alone is a strategy why your customers should hire you, water bottles are full of plastic, I hope this helps you, never doubt your vision create it , God bless you always, keywords at beginning ,titles,, ideas only, marketing
Yea, these would all need their own channel. I'd start with whichever topic you're the most passionate about, then as you lean more into it, you can probably start eliminating side-hustles from your to-do list and focus more on what you really love doing/talking about!
Watching this again and wow!! After my first watch I went and watched the video you put up in the card and again!! Wow!! I would say being on video has always been a mental block for me , seo guy here🤔 but I am going to be implementing this short form content for my local seo business 👍
I think it CAN work for products, but it can be harder to not just make commercials. I mainly focus on service businesses so I just stay n my lane on that.
Sure, but the bigger point is for most businesses to make YT successful, you never even have to "go viral." A modest channel with the right viewers can work amazingly well.
Im still trying to figure it all out. Was so impressed by the AI features that are available. I think you are correct that Google will make it where Chat GPT is the go to way for people to get the information that they want. Bloggers will have to be cross posting on the social media platforms more in order to be seen and will have to pay for ads. I turned my ads off seeing that I need to have the products in place before I try to grab my audience. Talk about putting the cart before the horse. I did that. So stepping back to create the products and determine where my audience will be after I get the website established. Thanks for teaching us through your videos. Looking forward to watching more from you. Cathy 😊
Hi, I do make some videos on YT already, but haven't really found that clients come from this. It's probably the type of content... Educational videos on ho to learn motion design (specifically using Blender) are not something a business owner looks up if they need a commercial animation made. If I was looking for more students than that would probably the way to go. What type of content would you suggest to drive those types of B2B clients to me? (or anyone reading this)
Yea you have to be careful of falling into the trap of just training future competitors. Ask yourself what problem your animations solve for your clients and make videos about THAT instead. At the end of the day you're really in marketing, right? Talk about that and bring it back around to animations whenver you can as the solution.
That's a good point, Wes, and it will definitely become more and more relevant in the future. After I saw my kid searching UA-cam for "What to do if your parents took your tablet away", I understood its potential 😂
I hired an editor… which I recommend anyone to do. You can get very good rates on that kind of work and it’s really not a skill I suggest learning yourself as a business owner with other things to do!
That's why corporations have ENTIRE departments to do all of this work as there isn't enough time in a day to learn/do any of this and still run your business, let alone do all that is required to execute this strategy properly as a small business owner.
I think it is high time to split "find the book in the library" SEO and "how popular is this book compared to others like it" SEO. You gotta always do the first to get to the second. I can't see this ever changing unless we get rid of databases and filing systems.

Hi
I want to do this
I highly recommend this channel! The quality of the content is consistently high, and I learn something new from every video.
Brilliant content. You're oh so correct. People are ALWAYS looking for that human connection. My YT channel does a lot of selling for me. As you said, the call is very different when people find me on UA-cam. All the very best, Cheers Rick
[AMENDMENT] Yes, ChatGPT can pump out blog articles.

Google Gemini does not show sources
But who decides what is "best content"?
AI can't actually tell what is "best content" as AI has no human emotions, plus "best content" will be different for each situation.
Would love to know who does your video editing. They're doing a great job.
Thank you! We have a great editor.
Thank you so much for sharing these ideas!
I agree with you about the value of video. Definitely sky rockets the 'know, like and trust' factor.
Thanks for the video! Loved it very much!

Wow I am certainly quite intuitive when it comes to SEO: I started uploading all my blogs in the forms of videos here on UA-cam. Embed the blog link in description. No lie I got 25 visitors in a day which is quite amazing for me. Traffic has been consistent.
Honestly it's a big mistake to sleep on UA-cam. 2024 will make or break us SEOs. Gold luck ; )

Video editing on point!
I've been on youtube since 2019 and uploaded hundreds of videos trying different approaches. Now I've lost faith in UA-cam and I'm Looking for other platforms.
Well I checked your channel I can see you put a lot of effort into it. In youtube the most important things are the the title of the video and the thumbnail. I am suggesting to learn some copywriting and at least google canva youtube thumbnails there are so many free templates witch give you better results using some design principals.
it's because your thumbnails suck mate
Amazing eye-opening video! I quite agree with what you said about UA-cam compared to Google. I am already mainly focused on UA-cam. I think that you brought out the benefits well and encouraged me that I am on the right path and should stay focused on UA-cam. Thanks and well done on this video!
Wes, your content is consistently excellent and always helpful. Thank you.
This was helpful in so many ways, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
I can really relate, I used to do web design and stopped it over a decade ago. But I can still help people with their marketing.
Hey Wes, would that tactic also make sense for local results? E.g. Chiropractor San Diego, etc.
Hey Dan, less so for sure. The way this works best is if you can basically work with ppl anywhere, bc they will find you FROM everywhere this way. But there are definitely local businesses who this has worked for, so many doctors out there who I would imagine can only work on patients locally, but they're still killing it.
I am busy with SEO and its a nightmare. I am also busy with the company's UA-cam Channel. I look forward to our exposure growing. Thanks for this information!
This validated my chosen approach :) thanks!
So glad!
Great video!
Thank you for putting me on the path, I've toyed with this without much passion, but now I have the passion :)
any solution for sitemap could'nt fetch error in search console ?
Wes, I think you're great pal! Thank you for your videos, very helpful!
Agree with everything you say but, … as a marketing agency how do you do that with clients who just refuse to be on camera 🤷♂️
I mean you can't force them. But we're reaching a point soon where those ppl will be at a distinct disadvantage. And that's up to them.
Some people want to be faceless for privacy reasons. There's got to be a creative strategy to allow them to create a faceless brand and still thrive on UA-cam and it not really be a disadvantage to their ability to make sales from their UA-cam content.
You explain it very well!
Wes. Thank you. This is brilliant. Can’t believe you only have 11,000 views . That’s gonna change 🙏
Glad it was helpful Michael!
can't wait to start a channel for my art and creativity. Should I make a new separate channel just for it? this account is just my surfing UA-cam account. I don't use it as an upload channel and I've had my account like this for years. I thought of making a new gmail account just for having a dedicated UA-cam channel for my artwork and all things crafty and creative.
Go for it
Thanks for the video! Loved it very much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
how does this apply to service based businesses?
Make content helping the people you serve. It's that simple. Me, as a business consultant, will make content regarding the pillars of business, from management to finances to team building, interviewing and everything in between. What is your service? Think about common questions that are asked or things a lot of people don't talk about, then talk about them. Show examples where applicable.

I'm jumping on UA-cam. Thank you for this information

Question: how do i create UA-cam contentt that transfers into sales for a local-only, physical service based company?
Depends on what you do. If you don't want to do funny skits with the intention to go viral, you might try collaborating with local guide-type creators. You know, folks who wander around town eating different hamburgers shooting vids about it. If there's that type of content about your industry. The search volume is likely to be pretty low, but you can always hope the algorithm picks up your content.
Thank you for this video! What would you say about Pinterest if video is not your thing?
I've tried Pinterest... it's a GRIND. I think we posted like 20 things a day and it never really caught on. And it won't do the same kind of thing video will do for you. Here's the thing about video... its nobody's "thing" until they get started. I'd love to say there's a great workaround, but I firmly believe that the ones who embrace video will be the winners in the end. Its just where its all headed, and I can't really sugarcoat it unfortunately.
Wes, do you think this rings true for LOCAL SEO as well?
Less so for sure.
Do you have any video's that will talk about this?@@WesMcDowellInc
Ok, now this helps me to make up my mind to chose UA-cam over blogging. great content, thanks for sharing!

Agree. SEO will be tough with time.
Websites or businesses have to work on Omni Presence.
This video was immensely helpful to me.
It's a pleasure to watch.
So how can we find clients

Do you think this approach ie moving towards UA-cam would work for ecommerce brands?
I think it CAN work for products, but it can be harder to not just make commercials. I mainly focus on service businesses so I just stay n my lane on that.
I feel that it is easy to reach a certain level, but it will be difficult to break through later, unless a process-oriented team is required.
Sure, but the bigger point is for most businesses to make YT successful, you never even have to "go viral." A modest channel with the right viewers can work amazingly well.
@@WesMcDowellInc Yes, the accuracy of the audience is the primary condition we need to consider, not large irrelevant traffic
This video was a game changer for me. Backlink Fu helped magnify the effects!
@@WesMcDowellInc thnx! Will definetely give that a shot🤙🏻
That's a good point, Wes, and it will definitely become more and more relevant in the future. After I saw my kid searching UA-cam for "What to do if your parents took your tablet away", I understood its potential 😂
Excellant , thanks for tips
What video editing software do you use? That alone seems like a lot of work.
