I'm a Protestant and I believe I'm being led to the Catholic church. Please pray for me. I want to be a part of the Catholic Church. I don't know where to start. I've done years of study and research on this. Of course with my Protestant background I was very anti Catholic. But reading books, studying history, listening to lectures and seminars. Being frustrated with divisiveness within my tradition . I'm very familiar with theological literature both Protestant and Catholic. I'm drawing closer to Rome now. I travel for work , I'm always away from home. I don't know where to start to become catholic. I can't attend RCIA because I stay away working for months at a time. Can anybody give advice?
I’d say find a good priest and explain your situation, he might allow you to do some studying on your own or one on one’s with him from time to time. I could be wrong but I know I’ve heard of some people being able to do something like that instead of RCIA
Keep watching good solid Catholic you tube videos from excellent priests. I’ve learned so much about the faith by watching you tube. Then when time permits go the the classes. Find a good Parrish near your work. I go to adoration at a church near my work. Learn about sacramentals use them. God loves you and welcomes you with open arms. Come as you are!!
Start praying the rosary today and as @Beneath said find a priest that can do this for you by letting do your own study, my wife did this.
Contact your diocese, they should help with a religious director. There are a lot of good tools like Laudate that’ll help. I’ll be praying for you 🙏
Go to the closet Catholic Church in your home area and talk to the Priest there…Where there is a Will there is a way…also develop a relationship with Jesus…Pray to him…he knows your heart better than even you do…If you truly want this it will happen…Peace Be With You Brother…Go to a Catholic Church…ask and let them know what is in your heart you will find a sponsor and the work will begin🙏🌹✝️🛐

It does sound so Pharisaical doesn’t it? Reminds me of the “Oral/Fence Laws” the religious leaders implemented, creating a heavy yoke on the Israelites whether they were in ‘good faith’ or not.

The problem with most if not all Protestants is they think they are already saved and can’t lose their salvation.

@@zacharycarrier2890 I’m Orthodox and I can tell you one of the worst and foulest of heresies that most Protestants seem to be united on is the way they speak about the Lord’s mother, the most holy Theotokos and Ever Virgin Mary. Nearly all Protestants do this, except maybe some Lutherans. I have heard some of the most downright awful, nasty, degrading rhetoric from them essentially slandering and even mocking our Blessed Mother. Some of the really ugly things I’ve especially heard from these evangelical types could rival damn near any atheist or satanist. Many Protestants strangely reserve a deep hatred of our most beloved Panagia.

This priest used to be active in the FSSP parish where I am active. He was transferred a couple of years ago and is now in another state at an FSSP parish. When he was transferred, it was a huge loss to our parish. His sermons were highly edifying. He has occasionally gotten into trouble because he will not compromise the truth. God bless this holy priest. I hope this was a current sermon, and not some retread from years past. But the content is no less true, no matter when it was offered.

So, if all that was required was the one verse you quote, which is true, you must believe in everything Christ taught to the Apostles AND all The Holy Spirit taught them 'everything' as they then went out into the world and formed The Catholic Church, which, as you see, was founded by Christ on Peter the authorized Head of the Catholic Church, is worldwide and The Holy Spirit taught 'everything'. So, to refuse it, is refusing Christ as He intended to set apart those who merely 'say' they believe from True believers, who have truly accepted 'everything.' I pray this makes sense as Christ told the Samaritan women that there would come a time to worship in Spirit and Truth. This, is, The One, Holy, Roman Catholic & Apostolic Church today. You were told you will have to reap what you have sown. Sow your thoughts, words and deeds wisely. Tell them to see the movie "Nefarious" and let it speak to their souls. Stop preaching pray suffer sacrifice and TRUST Jesus have Masses said for them and never under estimate the power of following the Will of God and offering it up to Jesus for grace and Mercy for those we love. Read the Diary of St. Faustyna and you will learn a great deal.

Saved is past tense. Washing of regeneration is referring to baptism. Just because your soul was infused with sanctifying grace and you had all your sins, both original and actual, forgiven during baptism, doesn't mean you can't fall back into grave sin and lose that state of grace and destroy the friendship and status to which God raised you.
@@mking7690 You misunderstand the verse. We are saved by Fatih which human eyes cannot see. The works is Christ working through us that others can see our Faith. James was teaching the difference between a head knowledge of Christ compared to a true heart felt faith in Christ.
Sort of like water baptism. Water baptism does not save us it is just an outward expression of receiving the Holy Spirit through faith.

We are not doing good works for our salvation. We do good works because the Holy Spirit lives in us and works through us.

But those good works never save us. They may show we are saved, but they have nothing to do with our salvation.
Protestants have it Biblically. Roman Catholics are not following scripture, they are following the Council of Trent and other man made traditions.

The fact that there are ppl who claim to accept the holy spirit but still do bad works and love a sinful lifestyle, clearly indicates that works can actually save us and are taken into consideration for our Salvation. Why? This man just said there is no guarantee you’ll be saved being a Catholic. Christians are guaranteed salvation. No way I’m trading my guaranteed salvation for a man made salvation with no guarantees.

CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH: The Church prays that no one shall be lost: “Lord, let me never be parted from you.” If it is true that no one can save himself, it is also true that God “desires all men to be saved” (1Tim 2:4), and that for him “all things are possible” (Mt 19:26).
That is true but not everyone will be saved. Once they have died they cannot be saved. Scripture says we live once and when we die we are judged. No prayers can save them.

His mercy is without end, but He cannot deceive nor be deceived thus His laws must be obeyed. We bend to His will He doesn't bend to ours.
1 Peter 5:8. God forgives but He can never forget. If we make it to heaven our sins will always be remembered which is why the Psalms say, 'His mercy is everlasting.' To refuse His sacramental grace is clinging to personal sin as an idol. Protestantism is the 'eye of the owl that cannot look at the light of the sun'. 1. where does the Scriptures EVER say salvation comes "thru the church"? the "church" is comprised of those who are saved already, the body of Christ. so if catholics cant know if they are saved, then to what "church" do they belong?the bible i read says salvation comes be faith is Christ. it is HE who saves.
2. where did Jesus ever teach that any man can do anything to save another? if the blood of thousands of lambs at the hands of thousands of priests cannot save, then no priest today can save, except the High Priest, the Lamb of God. He alone has the power to forgive sin and save. salvation brings u INTO the body of Christ, so if u arent saved u are NOT part of His church.

I prayed a divine mercy chaplet and rosary as my dad was passing away. He was not officially Catholic but never spoke Ill of the Church and he knew the Hail Mary. I trust what St Faustina says about praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy next to a dying person. Following his funeral a white mist was seen above his casket. I took this as a sign of Gods mercy and he was willing to accept the Lord’s Mercy at the hour of death. I pray for him and the souls of purgatory every day. Some will be there for a very long time 🙏🏼

The Catholic Church has every right to claim descendency from Peter, but to claim that Protestants who have faith in Jesus Christ are not assured of salvation or to claim that Protestants will not enter heaven, is itself a blasphemy. Romans 10, Ephesians 9, etc all declare that the ONLY way to heaven is through Christ and Christ ALONE. Praying to the saints doesn’t earn salvation, praying to Mary doesn’t earn salvation. Only belief in Christ as the son of God does.

I was once a Roman Catholic. Having read the Bible I know how much error the Roman Catholic Church is in. Christ is my saviour, NOT the pope or the teachings of the pope. Christ is my saviour Not Mary, although I have respect for her. I will never bow down to Mary or the pope. Also, I will NEVER, EVER be good enough to earn salvation, no matter how much I try, I am trusting in Christ’s goodness to save me, NOT my own, as I have none.

When you persecute the Catholic Church, you are persecuting the Bride of Christ (no the Bride is not the random self declared Christians outside of the church). The first thing is to realise that prior to Sacred Scripture being canonised by the Catholic Church (300+yrs after Jesus) their was only Sacred Tradition (oral teachings). John spoke of many things that Jesus did that were not recorded. Those things are known to the Catholic Church in Sacred Tradition. When they put Sacred Scripture into a book, known as the Bible it had an additional 7 books. Luther an excommunicated catholic priest removed 7 books, interestingly those books primarily confined much of the doctrine you deny. Luther actually believed in the communion of Saints and asked Mary to intercede for him. The whole denial of this is only a recent heresy. For 1500 years prior to Luther Christianity was solely catholic.
Go to a catholic apologist site and research everything yourself. Once you discover the truth, find a parish and do the RCIA program. Then try and save as many deceived non Catholics as possible. Their souls matter.

The Apostle Paul received direct revelation from Jesus, per the Bible. Paul taught salvation by faith alone. No Church needed. And any religion that teaches otherwise is in violation of God's Word.
Our Lord founded a real brick and mortar Church with men in charge. Jesus spoke to the 7 Churches, as noted in Rev 1, those were real places, some were even former pagan temples.

This priest sounds like he has never read the book of Hebrews. Salvation is a guarantee. God swore an oath. Yet he still doesn’t believe God will keep His promise. God cannot lie. This priest is saying “God may be a liar. He may not keep His oath. He may not keep His promise. We have no guarantees.”
That teaching comes from an extra biblical source. The same source also said that we could give money to the church to provide forgiveness of sins which is a massive insult to Jesus considering the price he paid with his blood on the cross

@FireKoovin What’s hard for me is that a lot of the things I have heard from Catholics seem to contradict the Bible, and it seems like Catholics believe that they have authority to create doctrine. Some of the doctrine that they make feels to me like man-made doctrine that has nothing to do with Jesus’ words, and I always thought that Jesus wanted to eliminate man-made rules so that we could fully focus on him and his words.

Purgatory that's based on a Jewish practice, Saint Peter's upside-down crucifixion was only ever mentioned in the gnostic gospels, the sinless state of Mary Joseph and John was concluded by both scripture(just the Mary one) and early thought.

I need prayers. I know there are probably just two people praying for me, and I’m not even sure about them. I’m a cradle Catholic, and have been through quite a journey. Because of a life filled with struggle and prolonged abuse of all sorts, I became an atheist at some point, and then, about six years ago, I started believing in God again. Ever since then, it’s been a rollercoaster between different Christian denominations. I’ve been studying, losing sleep, I got deceived by false doctrines, but I haven’t stopped believing in the Trinity, and in Jesus. I pray to Mary and the Saints now. I’m making my way back to Catholicism, but there’s a huge stumbling block for me: going to Confession. I have severe social phobia and complex PTSD, which makes every day of my life really hard. I get panic attacks just thinking about going to confession, and this is not about what I would confess, it’s something that I remember causing me great anxiety even when I used to go as a child. Hard to explain, but it just makes me miserable. It would cause me to be in a heightened state of anxiety between one confession and another because I know that the next one is coming up. I confess my sins, with deep sorrow, to God in private. I pray acts of contrition, I desperately ask Him to please forgive me about not managing to go to Confession. There’s nothing more I desire than spending eternity with Him, even if it means centuries spent in Purgatory. I love Him, yet I am afraid. I wish I could find peace, and praying the Our Father is what helps to calm me the most.
So, this is my situation, and I’m asking anyone who reads this to please pray for me. Please pray that God have Mercy on me and saves me, despite missing Confession (and therefore the Eucharist, too). I would gladly take the Eucharist but I know it’s prohibited to do so unless one has been to confession first.

The priest is correct in that there is no guarantee of final salvation, simply in that we haven't died yet. We can generally be sure that we are in a state of grace though.
