George Penton Thank you George. Many assume that God is not doing this with those outside the Church. The desire to blend in with Protestants, tied into the Ecumenical spirit and belief in universal salvation has deceived people into thinking people are guiltless and incapable of finding the Church but God provides the grace and the means to find the Church while they are still alive.

The official stance of the RCC is that anyone from any religion can be saved. You don't have to be Catholic. You don't even have to be a Christian.

Praying for the soul of my dentist's brother (both are not Catholic). Who I just found out has stage 4 cancer. IDK why I feel so drawn to praying for him when I've never met him nor am I even close to my dentist, whom I see 2x a year. I can't shake the feeling so am praying fervently for him. Donald Cooley I dispute your claims about the sacrifice of the mass being unbiblical, for it is certainly fitting that the sacrifice on the cross would be the perfection and fulfillment of the Old Covenant’s practice of sacrifices, but it appears you are quite entrenched and studied in your interpretation of Scripture, so I will present another angle.
If you believe the Catholic Church is an “appostate” one, then how long did it take for Christ’s one Church to become corrupted beyond repair? Was at the hands of Constantine at the Council of Nicea and Constantinople in 325 and 381 AD? Then why does Justin Martyr in 155 AD testify in “The First Apology” that in Christian worship, “There is then brought to the president of the brethren bread and a cup of wine mixed with water; and he taking them, gives praise... And this food is called among us the Eucharist, of which no one is allowed to partake but the man who believes that the things which we teach are true... For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Saviour, having been made flesh by the Word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word, and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation are nourished, is the flesh and blood of that Jesus who was made flesh.” I will refrain from listing other 1st and 2nd century sources proclaiming the necessity for the body and blood of Christ for the sake of brevity given our medium of exchange but encourage you to investigate the writings of the earliest Christians.
I will conclude with this: if Christianity were so corrupted less than 90 years after the deaths of Peter and Paul, would this not imply malpractice in the teaching by the apostles that
pupils at the most two generations removed from them would in consensus proclaim a blasphemy or error? If this is the case, would we trust them to record the Gospels? We certainly wouldn’t trust the “corrupted” Church that assembled the Bible in 393 at the Council of Hippo? The likelihood that such misinterpretation took place essentially in the infancy of Christianity and was not corrected until the 16th century or after seems far less likely than the Holy Spirit guiding the Church throughout the centuries so that even through scandals of fallible men, the Church would continue to teach the truth of Christ and provide the faithful the food for eternal life.

Do you admit the historical proof that a “ KJV Bible” never existed until after a random ex priest named Luther created Protestantism and that the KJV has 7 books removed from it ? The Dead Sea scrolls include copies of deuterocanonical works like Tobit, Baruch, and Sirach. The reason I point to them is that even the oldest texts we do have include some deuterocanonical books, which KJV does not, Even though the first KJV books did include the catholic deuterocanonical books that were eventually taken out. Again, the actual Bible wasn’t determined yet by the church by the 3rd century , just like the Jews had no final cannon either hence the different versions in the 1st century and even BC , until Rome made the final list of both the NT and OT aka the 73 book Bible in late 3rd century . You wouldn’t expect a complete 73 book Bible until after the church proclaimed the books. The mentioning of the pre-council canons or lists was to show that the deuterocanonical books were very much alive and used.
As for the church fathers, again , for example, St. Jerome submitted to his superiors in Rome aka the Pope as to the deuterocanonicals just as you should. [ quoting Jimmy Atkin Page] He wrote “Against Rufinus 11:33 [A.D. 402]”What sin have I committed if I followed the judgment of the churches? Other church fathers you’re probably referencing such as Origen accepted all of the deuterocanonical books and Athanasius accepted Baruch. But these individual opinions and views don’t necessarily matter because both of those men submitted to the pope. The Pope always had final say to the church fathers.

The fact of the matter is , even the gospels were in dispute in the early church until the Catholic Church fathers with the Pope settled them. We also settled the OT once and for all. Codex Amiatinus was fragmented ( and handwritten obviously).
@YAJUN YUAN I have to recall and find which gospel was in dispute and by who since the gospels didn’t fall out the sky and written at different time periods. There was a time only 1 gospel existed , that is, until the visible church wrote and accepted the others 1 by one. In fact, the church comes long before the Bible. And no Christian lived by “sola scriptura” until 1500. The earliest church had no option of Bible alone because no Bible existed regarding Christ, the one many were martyred for. There was no Bible. Hence, the councils of the visible and known church . The church was mystical, but also fully visible as you have pointed out.
@YAJUN YUAN if a council has no physical record, it doesn’t matter per se. Especially when later councils reaffirmed previous councils and mentioned them as decided before them. Just like I believe there is no record of Christ’s birth in the Census or even the crucifixtion of the Roman record. Still, the record doesn’t indicate per se if it’s true. The Derivatives still can. I think the bigger matter is what you’re listing is far from a Protestants church lol. These councils , and the men in it, who gave us the Bible, and disputed canons , were catholic. They celebrated the Eucharist, baptism requirements, purgatory, etc. They were bishops and priests and the pope. And they did not follow the foreign Bible alone concepts.

The Scripture state very clearly “One Lord, ONE FAITH, one baptism” (Eph 4:5). The Catholic Church clearly started by Jesus Christ himself in 33 AD. So only this Church that can bring salvation to all people! 40,000 denominations with 40,000 different faiths can NOT!

This presentation seemed more balanced than ones I have heard in the past. Most priests seem to shy away from teaching the Infallible Dogma of the Catholic Church of "No salvation outside the Church." the Church has proclaimed this three times in her history; first at the 5th Lateran Council of 1215 AD. (Pope Innocent III) Second the Papal Bull of Unam Sanctam by Pope Boniface VIII. and Third at the Council of Florence in 1441 under Eugene IV. Modernists need to read their Church Dogma and consent to the truth of Church teaching weather they can stomach it or not.

Maraloy Thomas - Do not confuse local assemblies of Christian believers with 'Churches'. There are many small assemblies of believers who have slightly different understanding of doctrine and hence have divisions among them. This does not mean that they are all wrong.
Neither can you say that the Roman Catholic church is the true church. Originally it was the local assembly at Rome which the apostle Paul wrote his letter to (Romans). Men have come in with their false teaching, denying the truth of justification by faith and twisting the scriptures for their own ends, especially making money. My Mothers side of the family is entirely Protestant and maybe an atheist. Unfortunately I grew up quiet around them about my faith but I feel like that was very uncharitable by keeping the truth to myself. I want to help them and somehow bring them to the faith.
