Your sound quality is really good 😌😌
RIP Legend. 😔
Had a feeling old moment thinking of a whole bunch of friends and I road tripping out to Vancouver to see them at Ozzfest in 99
Had to find a drum lesson to pay tribute to the legend himself. Thanks for this.
Such a loss....
Thank you for the lesson man....
I went up in tears when the legend died R.I.P may he jam out with Paul in the afterlife
@@carnage9184 Chris isn’t dead
Man this is the guy that made me start drumming I love Joey
omg me too. i want to meet him so bad he’s my idol. it just sucks because i live no where close to him.
Same, i have that obsession that i want to be better at drumming than him😅 never gonna happen🤔
That didn’t age well…rip
Me to man he was my inspiration for learning play.Definetly one of my drumming heros.
@@x.vermillion.x9870 this didnt age well
Joey Jordison is intensive af xD
Definitely not an easy fill😅
Joey was phenomenal. RIP Joey we miss you 🌹
RIP
Joey always played his songs differently, each time , AF true legend
yeah bro
agree
Joey is one of my fav drummers of all time. Thanks for this and all the other vids Cameron!
Joey is a beast of a drummer! You’re quite welcome, and most importantly, thanks for watching. 🤘🤓
Joey is the reason I started drumming. Thanks for the tutorial btw.
Thanks for watching!
First section should end with a double floor Tom+Snare IJS live Joey is different
Of course! The video was for reference because it's super bad ass. This was in relation to what he'd tracked on the record.
RIP Legend
I'm struggling with life
Let me know if you need to have a chat!
Lmfao
Are you still alive?
@@Liefvikerson yea thx for asking lol
Hope your situation has improved man, I'm trying to stay positive in a mental health hell. Hoping for us both!
Bless you my god sir. For years I've always been stumped on how to play this section, but you breaking it down really helps.
Brilliant lesson!!
Great lesson! No BS, just great info. Love that you included sheet music & the metronome.
Glad you liked the format! Wasn't sure if you would all want more of an explanation. Thank you! :)
@@CameronFleury Totally welcome! The only thing I felt was missing was on the 2nd half of the fill, a demo in between 80 and 190bpm would be good. Maybe like 120-130? Just because it's fairly complicated and that's a BIG jump in speed.
Totally agree! I’ll make some changes the next time I do a video like this.
Sheesh this is so helpful! Thank you!
Super vidéo mec, merci 🤘
thank you so much! this really helped me
Thanks Cameron more drummers should learn these awesome beats. Wait and bleed is my favorite beat from Joey Jordison ,I call him Nathan.
sick video.. I'm a drummer myself, joey jordison, david silveria were the 2 main drummers that got me into it (90's kid. haha). I always admired those alternating fraction fills that jordison was known for
bro same only i add vinnie paul in there to round out my top 3 biggest influences lol joey, david , and vinnie
Slipknot has always been my biggest inspiration. Please breakdown the second part of eyeless intro. It's really tricky. I completed the first and a bit of second part.
Killed it!!
Thanks man this really taught me
Well done, i hope to see more your tutorials !)
Thank you! Check out the description, I’ve linked a drum lesson playlist!
Thanks for this vid man I just got into drumming and slipknot is my main inspiration. This piece is hard but once you start to make it happen it’s so cool to hear!
Glad I could help!
thank you man I will try
Thank u sm bro i just got my first drum set recently and i always wanted to be in a nu metal band and eyeless is my favorite slipknot song tysm brother
just subbed, this is awesome
Awesome, thank you!
Honestly the best, most helpful "how to" drum i've seen. Thanks!
Thanks so much Brandon! 🤘🤘
Thank you so much for this
You're so welcome!
Bro actually thanks so much for the vid made so it easy to learn
Glad it helped
God bless you for this video sir!!
thanks a lot man, you finally motivated me to sell my drums
Great lesson cam! Love these kind of short tutorial series.. Gotta take time to work it out. Thanks for sharing your little piece of talent..! 👍👍👍
You’re most welcome! Remember to take it slow, and don’t forget to check out the video description for the notation downloads. 😊
Awesome
That one fill where he goes right left right from the snare to the cymbals is so fucking insane, honestly that one full made me go and buy a kit
Fill*
That's so awesome! What a legend.
Thats sic! Thanks
You're welcome!
Exelente !
In the first part you skipped toms and cymbal hits, i mean no one in youtube actually makes a 100% accurate cover of that joey's intro. He is soo fast and i think thats one of his best drum plays ever, thats why he turns back and look at the camera like saying: check this out.
Maybe the "check this out" part is specifically that upward hit on the crash cymbal. That shit was sick :D
The only drummer I've seen play it as close as Joey was Krimh from Septicflesh, he has the video on his channel
@@SuperballBG shit never noticed that lol. Saw this clip a 100 times. Still not sure if it was bu accident or not but looks hella cool
@@Jordy666sic It's not by accident. I've seen him do it a few times live. He even did it when performing for Metallica at the Download Festival in 2004!
Hey everyone! I really enjoyed breaking down this drumming passage. If there's a famous drum part you've always wanted to learn, let me know down in the comments! Thanks for watching. :)
Cameron Fleury this is awesome I really appreciate it
@@brandonfeathers5219 you're welcome! Thanks for watching man! :)
Can you do Temples of Syrinx by RUSH
I'm knoT a drummer then too i watch your vedios 🤘
thanks so much man! im new to metal stuff and this is one of my favorite songs of all time, this helped me alot to get it down and play the song. if you could could you go over the crazy fill he does at around 1:38 in eyeless?
Slowed version sounds like basic exercise for beginner drumers :D
"Don't get frustrated or discouraged, just play For Whom The Bell Tolls instead."
HOLY FKKK TYYYY SOOO MUUUCH FOR THIS
You're very welcome!
After 1 week of hard job, I got it. Thanks for the lesson 😊.
Great job!
Very usefull thank u
You're quite welcome! Thanks for watching Daniel.
AWESOME! It seems that I have to practice first with my practice pad for that one.
You can do it!
It was hard but I did it thank you
Great! Glad to be of any help. Thank you!
I wish I could play as good as you and Joey
And you are a very good drummer
Thank you!
Do you have the link for the sheet music? I find it easier for me since I’ve learned to play instruments with music theory my whole life!
subbed... im not even a drummer...
Greatly appreciated! What instrument do you play?
@@CameronFleury Mostly guitar (by a large margin) but recently synth/piano (mostly for composition/learning theory)...guitar for sport!
That's awesome man! I started music with playing the piano. It's a greatly beneficial instrument to help improve your sight reading. Welcome to the channel, hopefully I can inspire some of your playing. :)
@@CameronFleury fully... good luck to you too!
Im gonna learn this IM GONNA LEARN THIS
IM NOT GIVING UP
Joey fucking rules, you do to Cameron!🤘🏻
Thanks man much appreciated!
It just looks so cool when he plays it. Probably cuz he smashes the drums so hard
This Joey fella was pretty good!
RIP Joey. Legend
I’m just starting to learn eyeless I got the first 2 parts down packed I know how to do the second I just need to get the speed down
Keep it up man! \M/
He was a (sic) drummer RIP Joey Jordison
RIP one of the greatest drummers ever.
Hey mate! Just discovered your channel a few hours ago, with your comedy covers (that made me immediately sub btw)!
I have just one question for this video : Where are the bass drum notes in the fill?
Maybe you avoided them on purpose to simplify, or maybe in case the people you teach to don't have a double pedal or two bass drums, but it sounds weird without it...
Anyways, keep on throwing the good stuff, I love it (even though I didn't know you a few hours ago 😂)!
Cheers from France mate! 🍻😎🤘
From what I see in the little clip of Joey playing eyeless you play it different. Does he play it the same way in studio or it was just a variation he did live
Pretty sure he plays it differently live - this is tracked to the studio version.
RIP JOEY 🙏💔
Does his short and small stature help or hurt his speed and ability? Or maybe not him in particular, but would it be better to be 5’2”, like him, or 6’2”
Everything
I don't know why I am here... I play the flute...
Me too, i play melodica
Lol
Man please do cover of 'pulse of maggots' by slipknot and a lesson for its intro.
RIP ,Nathan Jonas Jordison. My hero.
You fuckin nailed it man!
Thank you mark!
im a guitarist but Joey makes me want to play drums
Don’t be sad he is gone be happy he was here 🤘
More covers 🙏
What kind?
Rip the greatest 🥺
Is there snare togheter with floortom on first eightnotes? Sounds lot of like. And end 16notes.
It's the kick drum! Also I realize the ending is not correct in the video.
I got it almost 1 year later :)
In the second bar first time you need add tow eigths a snare drum whith the flour tom and bassdrum..
What about Brent Smedley's intro fill on Clear the Way by Iced Earth?
Where he’s playing 16th notes in the hats and goes into a shirt tom fill? That’s a great song!
It sounds to me like it goes from both a crash cymbal and snare together right into the toms, and I have no idea how to make it sound so smooth
That would be something to figure out, that's for sure! I'm pretty sure you can slow down UA-cam videos to hear what he's doing. Or, see if there are any drum tabs online.
Great video man! Just wondering, are you playing 16ths or sextuplets in your full run of the fill? Cuz it’s marked sextuplets, but I swear my ear is hearing 16ths when you play. Regardless, a well made video indeed, looking forward to more of these! I suggest breaking down the intro fill to “The Coma Machine” by Between the Buried and Me if you do another one.
Great question! I definitely am playing 16th note triplets. It’s odd because the fill comes after a group of 5 on the snare, so the Tom fill starts with the left hand as 16th note triplets. It’s definitely a weird grouping, but that’s how he plays it on the record.
Also we should not confuse sextuplets with 16th note triplets. They are two completely different feels and stickings as they’re both counted differently. Not to scrutinize, just to rectify. 🤓
Cameron Fleury huh, I’ve always seen drummers use them interchangeably my whole life. Aren’t they both just describing a group of 6 notes evenly played in a quarter note’s length?
I apologize I was thinking 6 stroke roll, not sextuplet. You're right!
I have been following your videos for some time now and find them extremely helpful. Can you please do a lesson on how to play "The pokemon theme song". I can't quite wrap my head around it. If you would be so kind to do a tutorial! Thanks!!!!!
That would definitely be an interesting drum lesson.
R.i.p joey I will learn this
Hi, you show triplets for the last fill but on the sped up version you play 16ths.
That dude is a (sic) drummer
198 bpm
Holy shit
How are hand/finger techniques called that are used to play that fast on drums?
There are a few ways to play the same thing, but you can look into playing the french grip with your hands, and check out my leg to ankle motion technique video for double bass drumming.
Great lesson, just a question tho, you’ve notated the last part of the entire breakdown as being triplets but play quarter notes (as joey also does). Wouldn’t triplets be a lot faster (six notes per count) or are they just quarter notes written like triplets?
That's my mistake!
@@CameronFleury righto, so does he actually just play quarter notes (probably more like 8th notes in this case)?
rip king
Is the any good drum app
alot of his stuff is linear, when i picked that up listening, "
all hope is gone" album is a fucking masterpiece(s)
Great video and thanks for posting it. Just a quick question though, when you sped up the fast triplet part it sounded like you were actually playing 16ths not 16th triplets (it could just be my bad hearing). Would you play it as 16ths or 16th triplets?
You're right! I did play it as 16ths, it should have been 16th note triplets just like how I notated it in the video.
Cameron Fleury thanks for replying
Not a problem! Thanks for commenting
How long would it take a beginner to play this?
I'm struggling without having a drum set😭
Do you do zoom lessons?
Hey Tony, yes I do. Please send me an email: cameron@cameronfleury.com
You know it’s hard When the teacher says be patient and don’t get mad at yourself
I’m having a lot of trouble on the second part mainly at the part where you go ba da bada da da bada da bom bom if you understand that I can do that part but it’s playing that fast then going straight to the snare I’m having trouble with not to self promote but I’ll make a video showing you what I’m talking about it’ll be called eyeless trouble
Nvm someone helped me
Would help if you played it the same way at each tempo instead of changing it 😊
How can i play that fast what do i need to practice and how
