Clever filming from three consecutive shows. First all from stage right, second from all stage left and last show from back of concert hall. Seldom ever see cameras filming.
If you’ve never seen the whole concert film, you are doing yourself a disservice. Stellar from beginning to end. You can really see the influence of Adrian Belew on Byrne’s guitar playing on this song. He appears on the studio version, but was already gone by the time the film was created.
I'm used to the video with big giant shoulder pads. Again another great tune that actully might make you ponder a thing or two. Rush and Talking heads. Low end (bass and drums) is nice with both bands
That because it's a film. And it was conceived as one. With and underlying story ark. All the Gestures and moves that David Byrne does. Even the running.
Jonathan Demme directed this just after filming Something Wild and a year or two before he directed Silence of the Lambs. If you watch Something Wild you'll notice a lot of the music was performed or produced by David Byrne. That is, by the way, where we are introduced to a new up and coming Ray Leota in what I think is one of his best roles. Whether you air it or not, you should treat yourself to Stop Making Sense. It's not an acquired taste. Move over Mick Jagger!
This song really has a P-Funk feel to it, this performance in particular. It's a lot looser than some of the other songs in this concert, just really leaning into the groove.

"Weirdo Dance Party" sounds like another T-shirt slogan to me!
Best concert movie, ever!!! Check out the entire concert!
Weirdo Dance Party: the best of The Talking Heads
Very very talented 😅

Fun stuff.

LOL, Justin: "It's just like a weirdo dance party." 😆 But I agree -- no part of that wasn't choreographed in advance.
