Josh, you do a good job in your videos on the Extar EP9 and I enjoy shooting mine also The only problems I had were failure to feed instances caused by weak after market springs in some mags I bought. Since Wolff extra power springs are on back order, I simply stretched the mag springs and have had no problems since then. My wife prefers her AR9 16" barreled rifle because she can get more accuracy while shooting at 100 yards. Live long and free!

There's a UA-cam video about someone trying the 50 round drum on the EP9. His conclusion: it works, but only about 80% of the time. That must be why the Extar website specifically recommends using nothing more than a 33 round mag. As for Extar being out of stock: they restock in small quantities once a week, but at unpredictable days and times. *Caution* Extar EP9 received with a broken hammer. I contacted customer service which is a joke. They replied, "we don't have this happen". Sold thousands without this problem. Great gun . Love mine . Small disagreement with your review . The EP 9 will NOT take Glock 26 mags . I have tried both the stock Glock26 10 rounders and Magpul 12....not gonna happen
Does that tula ammo run good? i know its a steel casing round. and the only reason i shy away from this is because I've seen the tulammo .223 get the casing stuck in some rifles and they are a bitch to get out if you dont have the tool with you out on the range. but this pistol ammo seem to run fine.
Andrew Prater It is actually a guntec single point slings. Normally I dont like single point slings, but this Ep9 iz so light that it is very manageable with a single point sling on your back or your side. Not like a heavier AR15.
That really sucks. The SOB style brace that is on it is pretty cool, I run one on my Zastava M92, but the SBA3 is the new king of braces, the best one yet. I have one of those on my 7.5" AR.
Joshua Thomas it is very lightweight at 4.33lb. I like it better than my build ar9. Its soft shooting, simple, low cost and reliable. It has honestly put my custom ar9 our of commission.

Mark Dumas...I have the FX-9. It's a high quality pistol. Fit and finish are excellent and it has performed with all types of ammo and several glock style mags with no problems. I might have gone with this extar because of the weight difference but overall, I'm happy with it.
Could you swap the buffer tube for something shorter if you have a different spring? Wouldn't mind and even shorter overall package. Very cool gun though
It can be used anyway you want. For now. If dumbasses keep calling it a carbine, maybe someday the ATF will decide it is indeed a carbine. This is a pistol with a brace. Period.
Putting an arm brace up to your shoulder doesn't magically make it a SBR or like sticking the buffer tube up your ass doesn't make it turn into a lethal buttplug!LoL

Great video but for the love of God, use a smaller aperture and get rid of the horrendous focus issues. A blurry background does not equal a high quality video. Also stick with auto exposure.
Thank you for your input. We filmed the new extar Ep45 video on the channel and used a gimbal. We are getting a new camera this month for even better vids.
Great commentary and review, but the camera was blurry and painfully out of focus in almost ever shot...also too much extream zooming in, other than that great vid👍
@@joshv06 cheap yeah. It's dirty as hell. I used it for a long time till I knew better. Only use steel case in the commie guns now. But in all honesty, I never had a problem with it, just heavy fouling
Please tell me you guys are just really bad shots and the extar isn’t the culprit of that 18-20 inch groupings from 10-15 yards! I’m wondering this because if the extar is inconsistent I won’t buy it. Also, the bolt sounds kind of grainy when you were charging it for example. And finally, what’s the purpose of that high rise rail and then using that holosun reticle over a basic reflex?
We never shot for accuracy. We simply shot 300 rounds as a stress test. We were just blasting away. The high rail houses the higher bolt to maintain a high bolt weight (taller vs longer). I never oiled the gun. I started the stress test right out of the box. that's why it sounds that way.
@@joshv06 no im a poor guy LOL.....try to convince extar to fund it.....it would be a good promo video for them....actually doesnt really have to be a melt down.....i think people will will happy enough if they see those pistols endure 1-2k of normal speed but continous firing :D
@@EvendimataE we shot 300 rounds as explained in the video. Considering I had 3 total extars to shoot, I that's 900 rounds between the 3. They dont generate a lot of heat, so it's my belief that they are rock solid due to their genius designs. They are basically refined AR9's.

They wiggled like a loose tooth.
What kind of 33 ed mags would you recommend for the extar, just order yesterday, wanna be ready
I only suggest OEM glock mags. We have them at skidtactical.
Any folding braces for this pistol?
None at the moment
joshv06 cool thanks, any red dot recommendations?
Cameron Johnson Holosun
Does the BCG ride on metal slide rails or just ride on the polymer?
Polymer. Just like the Evo. It's fine.
How has this thing held up for you? Still running strong?
Kyle Rainer Still running strong haha. I cant really predict a point of failure.. blowbacks just work.
is the brace adjustable?
It is, but it is held on by very tight friction.
Good review. Any idea when the .45 will be available?
Not sure. Review coming out this week.
Awesome video brother! Subbed!
Riley R Thanks!
Hey man I forgot to ask. This will take Glock 17, 19, or 34 mags right?

joshv06 lol thanks
How's it shoot with steel casings?
The Tulammo they use in this video is exactly that. The Extar website actually recommends Tulammo, so long as your using Glock factory mags.
The manufacturer says it will not take G26 mags. Did you try them? I think I'm gonna sub by the way.
Sorry, I was incorrect in saying that. I thought it did, because my AR-9 does. Guess the magwell comes down a little more than the AR-9.
Great video man
Is this California legal?
azn8alx559 lol, that’s my next question, was going to call the company.
Great video but for the love of God, use a smaller aperture and get rid of the horrendous focus issues. A blurry background does not equal a high quality video. Also stick with auto exposure.
I agree. I'm going to do less zooming and more b-roll in the future.
We have invested in a Gimble. We used it in the EP45 review (coming out this week)
The information is excellent but the video quality is nauseating. Exposure, focus, shaking, random movements, I couldn’t finish

Isn't this listed as a pistol? Calling it a carbine is misleading, and could lead to legal problems.
What kind of legal problems?
Looks great except for all those boxes of Tula.
Best steel cased ammo I've tested. Works fine. Accurate. Consistent. Cheap.
No disrespect intended about the grouping
Just wanted to dump 300 rounds for reliability sake. We did a lot of shooting off camera.
And in 2019 you still can't get the 10mm or 45mm..
I know it ive been waiting for the .45
a meltdown test would be nice....so people would know if its low price doesnt mean low quality
Care to pay for the ammo?
@@joshv06 no im a poor guy LOL.....try to convince extar to fund it.....it would be a good promo video for them....actually doesnt really have to be a melt down.....i think people will will happy enough if they see those pistols endure 1-2k of normal speed but continous firing :D
@@EvendimataE we shot 300 rounds as explained in the video. Considering I had 3 total extars to shoot, I that's 900 rounds between the 3. They dont generate a lot of heat, so it's my belief that they are rock solid due to their genius designs. They are basically refined AR9's.
