budget backyard makeover for under $400

Covering your dirt backyard for $130 with a temporary plan.
Kids and dirt means a huge never ending mess. I love our backyard and can't wait to lanscape it but right now it's not in our budget. (anyone else relate?) So to hold us over until next spring I made the executive decision to use some of their combined Christmas and Birthday money from their Nana and Pops to create a dirt and nail free area for them to play.
The hard part was choosing a playset. How on earth are those things SO expensive! I really would have loved to bought a used one but there were just none in my area for sale. I will be interested in trading when they bore of it so hopefully that option will be available, I think a group for moms to trade these crazy expensive items would be such a great idea for everyone involved.
I love how the grass rugs turned out! They are definitely more rug than grass but I knew what I was getting. Plus I have an idea to turn these guys into a mini golf course when we're done, our side yards are HUGE.
I think it came out great. Bummed that the fence didn't wrap all the way around but everything else came together. It really only cost me $130 to cover the dirt and I think that is a budget friendly makeover.
