Great job so far, glad you are healing up, you need to get and impact screwdriver instead of the drill. it is a lot safer and more effective tool foe all sizes of fasteners. Stay safe !
I am loving the look of this porch addition! Can't wait to see it finished and the drone footage too, gonna look way different from up there now. Love your channel!
The two of you have come a long way from that big old yellow bus. When I turned 16 in (1 Jan 1965) I began driving a school bus of that size. I never even thought that someone would or could convert a bus to a camper/home. Look where you guys are now. What a difference. I hope the timbers will be visible when this addition is finished. It would be a shame to cover up such a beautiful grain.I have followed the two of you as you were working on the framing of the first floor. Keep up the good work.
So glad to see Greg is doing better... omg hope dog is ok with his mouth❤, fiberglass icky... your so my favorite to watch... ❤ Katie keep kicking butt girl, your awesome!
The pallet on the forks is great Collapsible Bulk Container - 32 x 30 x 25", 2,000 lb Capacity, Black is really stable when tided to forks, try and find a used one, also I strap a ladder to the side for access in the air, great for roofing or trimming trees.
Must be nice to get all the portable power stations. i sure could use one. for power outages when I need my medical devises Rather than packing up and finding someplace that has Elc.
Hello Katie and Greg You guy's are doing an amazing job 👏. The wood looks great after planning and that is a nice little power station you have. Hopefully the pup is ok and no reaction to insulation..
That lumber looks amazing going through the planer. So cool that you can make your own dimensional lumber. All I ask is that you wear at least eye protection when operating the mill.......can't turn off safety-Dad mode.
Hello K and G. Thanks for adding and uploading a new video. I enjoyed and learned a lot as well. I noticed that you still dont have a garage for your CARS. It would be a good project to pursue and to video as well. ehehehe. Just suggesting tho..
Can you tease us with what the plan will be once the addition is dried in, ie Finish the outside house siding, finish the skirting, or finish the inside of the new addition. You guys have accomplished so much together, enjoy the channel immensly.
Have you guys ever thought about finding a very small trailer you can tow with the quad. And make a mobile work station? Power banks below. Tools like mitre saw on one side and the planner ?
We love all your videos, but this one was particularly informative! All the info for the DJI Powerstation 1000 is great. We are thinking seriously about buying it. Our power goes out occasionally… having a quiet power supply to use for a few hours would be very helpful. Thank you for the thorough review. 👍❤️
you all have come a long way love watching your videos thank you for all the hard work you put into making the videos it's very much appreciate dave from ct
Yo I think someone needs to send you two a couple of wide brimmed Amish hats I think youve earned them doing every thing pretty much by scratch. And very good team work as well.
Hi guys I love to watch your channel you work together so very well just please be careful where you put your propane tanks. I've Been in my local fire depth for 25 years I've many many houses burnt and so many people hurt, burnt and killed by propane. Watching you build your porch over ha g reminds me of a really bad call we had the home owners mm kept their two tanks on the back porch it was not closed in but their tanks sat right beneath the kitchen windows well one nice spring day a nice breeze blowing in those open windows n a pressure vent on one tank malfunctioned opening and the wind carried it in the house though those windows later that afternoon the lady came home opens the door turns the light on which ignites the gas which blows her out the door when she hit the sidewalk it busted the back of head open killing her and she had severe burns over 48 percent of her body it also blew out the front kitchen wall n the side wall burnt the house beyond repair so please be careful with those tanks
Aspen is still a puppy. I hope she was okay and didn't ingest any to cause a problem. I like the work you are doing, it will look very nice when completed. Have a productive and safe week and I'll see you on ht e next one. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
You guys seriously need to sort out that scrap pile before winter, because you’re going to end up with some possibly unwanted visitors taking up residence in there to hibernate till spring. But this extension is really starting to look like it’s going to be awesome 🤩, however Greg you should ALWAYS have a barrier between concrete and wood, because otherwise you run the risk of the wood rotting away because of the wicking effect it will have with the porous effect of concrete. I must admit that Larch post is an absolutely beautiful piece of wood, there again that Larch tree trunk has produced some beautiful pieces of wood period.
i wish all these homesteading/off grid channels would research what a water level is... the lasers definitley are handy but in the daytime you would have level in seconds with a water level
On the rebar, gravity and friction will keep the rebar in the hole, and gravity will keep the beam on the rebar. The rebar will keep it from moving side to side, it should be good.
They had sale on bluetti this week 47% off so I bought a AC180 for $549.99 and I am shipping it to Alaska because my friends need it for there homestead off grid
Greg & Katie you guy's have came so far with that little homestead 👍Yes been with you guy's a long time some pretty awesome creations for sure ! ❤
Thank you
Great job so far, glad you are healing up, you need to get and impact screwdriver instead of the drill. it is a lot safer and more effective tool foe all sizes of fasteners. Stay safe !
I just enjoy watching your video’s so peacefully out there with awesome woods works concreets etc👍🏻🆒
You did a great job promoting the DJI. I am looking at it.
Great job guys. Hope the dog is ok. ❤
That wood grain looks FANTASTIC plained
I noticed that too
I have seen many better wood grains than that.
That addition is going to be so nice.
I am loving the look of this porch addition! Can't wait to see it finished and the drone footage too, gonna look way different from up there now. Love your channel!
I'm impressed at how you get sh*t done! Great teamwork!
I’m very impressed with the DJI unit I’m seriously checking it out

My Grandpa would approve, great job

Timber framing is looking good. Nice job.
Lots of outer pieces of wood for the fire the winter. That's so good for you guys.
You are a rare find beautiful, hard working and very smart. Good luck with the project.
Hello Katie and Greg

Can you tease us with what the plan will be once the addition is dried in, ie Finish the outside house siding, finish the skirting, or finish the inside of the new addition. You guys have accomplished so much together, enjoy the channel immensly.
Finishing exterior after we get the insulation and vapour barrier in
So good to see that you guys got the windows ironed out blessings to you both and all the dogs. :)
another tip I USE WHEN CUTTING SHORT BIGGER THING IS USE A CLAMP TO HOLD IT HELPS BIG TIME
The house is coming together nicely 👌! Keep up the hard work 💪🏻
The wood grain is awesome!! And you have the frame ready for the overhang 🎉🎉🎉
So glad you guys are using Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). I love your videos you guys are a great team.

Real nice video ! Thank you for sharing.
wow at the appearance of the timber posts as they were being planed
Outstanding Craftsman ship 👍Great JOB guys!😇!😇!
Maybe try add some plastic or something under that beam against concrete..
Have you guys ever thought about finding a very small trailer you can tow with the quad. And make a mobile work station? Power banks below. Tools like mitre saw on one side and the planner ?
We’ve talked about building out a utility trailer to keep the tools in, might be the answer!
@@ThisOffGridLife might make things easier for you guys....

Your such a great team
The porch type thing looks great
That must have been one hell of a sponsor for you to devote so much time to promoting and having the camera on it.
We feel pretty lucky to be sponsored by such a well know brand
U guys are awesome 👌 good job always, room for improvement at any time needed for both .Goodluck and Godbless 👍.

I'm telling you man. Buy some of the Milwaukee "the torch" sawzall blades. Thanks for sharing !

Nice lumber posts, came out beefy👍👍That power station is robust for only 1000 WH. 🏁🏁Good test. Be blessed 🙏🙏🙏
It's pretty crazy considering the weight
Your addition is going to be fantastic
Greg you have a very good Katie everybody should have a Katie ❤
Hi, you should have put a bracket on the bottom of that post, wood on concrete will rot very quickly
You guys seriously need to sort out that scrap pile before winter, because you’re going to end up with some possibly unwanted visitors taking up residence in there to hibernate till spring.

Oooo noooo that sawing noise with headphones on! 🫤
Great job on the deck and video
Looking good ❤❤
good looking beam
Cool
looking good

I like it that you laugh at yourselves. You’re such a cute couple. You do have quite the scar on your arm for sure.
Well done vary good job
Great job ❤❤❤
You need to get yourselves a couple of roller stands.
I love this show don't know if I like the pretty much entire show is just one commercial....
Rebar is a lot harder steel than you’d expect. 😁
FTR I click the thumbs up on all your vids
chain saw to make those cuts for knee brace
On the rebar, gravity and friction will keep the rebar in the hole, and gravity will keep the beam on the rebar. The rebar will keep it from moving side to side, it should be good.
Hi Katie hi Greg.🖐
it's got the red cedar interior colours to it
Looked like Katie was doing the moon walk when you were planning the 6×6 or 8×8. Be safe and careful guys. ❤
They had sale on bluetti this week 47% off so I bought a AC180 for $549.99 and I am shipping it to Alaska because my friends need it for there homestead off grid
Clamping the planer to the plywood would make it far less bouncy.
@ 8:59 damn Katie, Greg let you drive his tractor LMAO
I think you should buy a cutting torch.
❤ I just love watching you guys working together, just great everything is so beautiful. Love your goats i want one so bad😊😊😊😊.
d
You should find a blacksmith to make you a branding iron with your logo and do some stamps on your woodworking materials
Did , Ya know you can buy a metal cut blade for your circular saw ? 💙💙💙
Besides your labour's, how much in total were the beams??
Looks like you re framed the window openings to accommodate the windows you have .
You guys have a ton of firewood in your scrap pile! Lol
That sawzall blade worked about as good as a windshield wiper on a duck's butt. 😂
Math is your friend in calculating your heights 😀
Really satisfying watching that timber come out of the planer. Whish I could smell it 🪵🌲
Looking great!!! Did Aspen just dig in insulation or eat any? Totally knew bad doggy!!😂😂
She was coughing over night and we didn’t know why until the morning. She’s healthy though so no side affects
seeing that pile of cut offs it is time to start cutting for fire wood or have a nice big bond fire when that addition is finished
