Yeah I also don't get it. As I know guys like Fantano make serious money. I never cared about how exactly all this works, but I know that if you monetize you can make a good amount of money with a few million subscribers. Anyway, wish they would have more, with serious money they could even produce more stuff I guess. I know I say this a lot.😅
It’s because their taste isn’t catered to the masses . Yeah they’ll do a drake or future project . But needle drop does everything good or bad . They review underrated artists with great albums
This is one of the albums that’s Dead End Hip Hop 100% put me on to 10 years ago. Back then y’all review artist I wasn’t up on yet and would listen to what ever y’all gave high praise to. Such a dope album that people did sleep on.
I definitely owe DEHH for my taste in Hip-Hop. I remember I was in the 12th Grade when I found their RTJ2 review, and they loved that album so much it made me go and listen. It was over with after that lol. Fell in love with rap and this channel every since.
This album started alot for me. First exposure to Killer Mike and EL-P, first vinyl ever owned. It holds a special place in my heart. I'm glad y'all did this
You couldn’t pick much of a better 1st vinyl than ‘R.A.P Music’ bro’.I must be a lot older than yourself but as a lifelong(since 13years old)hip hop vinyl collector, the 1st vinyl I remember buying was Public Enemies ’It takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back’,way back in ‘89/‘90.It still holds up perfectly to this day.
This album for me is a Death Certificate, a Fear of a Black Planet, an all time truly great rap record. Interesting nugget from an interview with El-P - the first RTJ record was going to be El's next solo project after this but the vibe was so good between the pair that Killer Mike was determined to jump on every beat he heard, so it became a group thing. The rest is history...
I'm pretty sure the original review of this album was one of the first that I saw you guys cover. Keep up the exceptional work - you guys fill a space that not many, if any, other music entities can!
The original review put me back in the hip hop world after not listening to much for a while. Then right after this I watched their RTJ review with Fantano and I’ve been hip hop and DEHH ever since. It’s so dope to see y’all grow into a business man. Inspiring
This record was crazy to me when it dropped. As a long time El and Dungeon fam fan, I was shocked that Mike and El would collab and how great it was! Little did I know then what RTJ would become!
This was in a TIGHT race with ControlSystem for my 2012 album of the year. Y'all should revisit that one if y'all haven't. Anyways, as a LONG TIME Killa Kill fan I can easily say it's his magnum opus. Every thing just clicked here for him. All the strengths of his previous works were here in spades with none of his former weaknesses. And what's left to say about El-P's production on this joint? Absolutely next level and transcdent chemistry permeates every aspect of this album.
Glad y’all did this. This got me into a lot of cool music and is still my favorite album of 2012 and one of the best of the decade - if not of all time!
I got this album on vinyl in the anniversary colorway and it's so damn good. Killer Mike is so dope! This record is one I can play all the way through and not get tired of it
Such a dope review, I remember watching your first RTJ review when they dropped. Please keep the revisits coming it’s so interesting to hear y’all comment on group dynamics of your younger selves
One of my favourite albums of all time, and DEHH definitely put me onto this at the time. 2012 was an amazing year for hip hop- so many great albums, and DEHH really came into their own. I still bump albums like RAP Music, V Control System, and GKMC heavy
If they haven't, the DEHH crew should check out Open Mike Eagle's "What Had Happened Was" podcast. There's a whole season with El-P, and they go very in depth with the end of Def Jux, the creation of RAP music, and the origins of RTJ. Lots of amazing info that sheds a lot of light. I would have thought they would all have heard it, but from this convo I'm not sure.
I am definitely an old head been hiphop since early 80's. I love the South movement (Goodie Mob,Outkast, Dungeon Family etc.) DEHH put me on RTJ and I absolutely love RTJ . Unfortunately I totally slept on Killer Mike and El -P solo projects.I can't wait to engulf myself into this project. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK DEHH
I still listen to this album like once or twice a year after going through the RTJ albums. I actually bought this album and Pledge because of that song swimming produced by Flying Lotus, and That's life pt.2.
I'm ten years late to this album, but better late than never. This record truly is one of the best to drop last decade and is such an amazing primer to the Run the Jewels discography, long live R.A.P. Music!
You know a album fire when you love it and find out the meaning of the acronym in the title 10 years later. I’ve played this album numerous times over the years and I honestly never bothered learn what the acronym was for
I’m really hoping the crew decided to do a 10 year revisit on Death Grips the Money Store. I’m curious to know if the rest of the crew still feel the same way about it since it’s release.
I definitely think this record is a modern southern hip hop classic, idk if I agree with Myke's take on it being just as good as TPAB but I agree that it explores similar sociopolitical topics and is very effective at doing so.
This was definitely an important album. I remember accepting it as great and a bit of a diversion from what I had been used to from Killer Mike, but didn't realize what was behind it. About a year after it dropped, I went to what was billed as a Killer Mike show at Union Transfer in Philly. This may have been post RTJ1, but I had no idea what that was then. Killer Mike was on stage, but there were a ton of white people and I didn't recognize the music. I was completely confused, so I left. Kicking myself in the ass for not giving it a chance then. I'm onboard now.
Ether a new El-P solo album needs to come out or a new Killer Mike solo album needs to come out again. I know Myke C Town could probably agree with Me on that much as I`m fine with Run The Jewels 5 too down the road.
Once upon a time in the projects An O.G. saw a young Bun B as a prospect Thought that I would understand the streets from a very young age So he opened up the G code to the front page He sat me on the porch, said, "This where little dogs sit. Pointed at the yard, said, "That's where big dogs shit".
I remeber the original DEHH review, it was in a basketball court right? I remeber the crew analizing the first lyrcs: "These monkey ni**as looking for some Luda and Jermaine And all a ni**a found was a Ruger and some pain" DAAAAAMNNN!!!!
It’s so wild to me that dehh really been around for 10 years, remember when they use to do reviews outside and now they got a whole studio. Amazing
I honestly can't remember who said this but that was they mixtape era now they making dope albums 😂😂😆
First video I saw was Lil B I’m gay review like 10/11 years ago I think 😂 classic
Right! Those apartment reviews were classics too,
The editing was so shit and shakey but the content and their personalities were on another level 😂
The biggest mystery in the world is how DEHH doesnt have AT LEAST a million subscribers. Quality of content and people out of the charts.
Agreed. 250k is criminally low for them
They’ve been stuck in 200k for years now. DEHH deserves so much better!
Yeah I also don't get it. As I know guys like Fantano make serious money. I'm pretty sure the original review of this album was one of the first that I saw you guys cover. Keep up the exceptional work - you guys fill a space that not many, if any, other music entities can!
We need more revisits! These are dope
These revisits are so cool. Can't wait to see more of them!

I love this album and the fact that you talk about it ten years later. Thanks guys and thanks to Killer Mike & El-p

This album is an absolute classic, very glad to see you're giving it some love!
This was the album when my opinion went from Mike is great, to HOLY Shit Mike is a machine! Flow, passion, anger, and lyrics were all on fire.
RAP music was the first review from you guys I watched, can't believe it's been 10 years
One of my favourite albums of all time, and DEHH definitely put me onto this at the time. 2012 was an amazing year for hip hop- so many great albums, and DEHH really came into their own. I still bump albums like RAP Music, V Control System, and GKMC heavy
"R.A.P. Music" was easily one of best albums of the last decade! For as much as I love RTJ, I wants some new solo joints from Killer Miller and El-P.
I would have thought they would all have heard it, but from this convo I'm not sure.
i think i listened to that record just because of that DEHH-review back then. thank u again and again.

He was so ahead of his time and so smart to get El-P to produce the whole project
I'm ten years late to this album, but better late than never. This record truly is one of the best to drop last decade and is such an amazing primer to the Run the Jewels discography, long live R.A.P. Music!
Ive had this album on my list for a while. Finally gonna dive in.
You know a album fire when you love it and find out the meaning of the acronym in the title 10 years later. I’ve played this album numerous times over the years and I honestly never bothered learn what the acronym was for
Man I came to this album post RTJ and specifically through the Reagan music video which made me say holy F, no punches pulled.
I’m really hoping the crew decided to do a 10 year revisit on Death Grips the Money Store. I’m curious to know if the rest of the crew still feel the same way about it since it’s release.

What makes this a southern classic?
This is way easier to throw on compared to tpab imo
That's actually an interesting discussion. Can an album that doesn't really sound southern be a southern classic?
@@PakRT84 I mean, is RTJ considered “southern”?
@@PakRT84 maybe? I just called it that because Killer Mike is from the south, I don't think it's really a southern album
Top 10 all time rap album for me. Been listening to it since the release. Good as RTJ has been, they’ve yet to top it. Yea
Thank you for this
Ya gotta do an outside review. 1 time for the OG fans. I'm happy how much DEHH has grown but sometimes I miss the chaotic nature of those old reviews.
Ghetto Gospel and Anywhere But Here are still so dope to me. I still think this is a classic album.
Hands down one of my favorite albums
Not the water bottle Dead End Gaming reference 😭😭😭
We need That *Ghais Guevara* - _There Will Be No Super-Slave_ Review ASAP
copped a 10 year anno repress! love the record!
Had To Cop The Album When I Heard EL P Of Company Flow Was Producing An Entire Album For Killer Mike... Threw Me Off But I'm Glad I Copped It....

you gotta do danny brown xxx like this, that was my first dehh experience ever!
This was dope.Killer mike🔥..How about that Sunday Morning Massacre Mixtape...Was fire give it a listen...
The record that got me into hip hop
I really miss the reviews where you were outside
Aged like wine
Such an amazing album that’s totally underrated

Charlemagne the God, of all people, put me onto this album by talking about how dope it was on air. I missed its initial release by years. ✊
This album is incredible it’s basically run the jewels one
Looking forward to October 22nd
Love when y’all revisit great albums
Underrated 💎💎💎
Once upon a time in the projects

So he opened up the G code to the front page
He sat me on the porch, said, "This where little dogs sit.

Can y'all start doing outside reviews again? Not every single one but every once in a while.
Killer Mike Has Always Represented Lyrically Since "Monster" Back In 2003....
Shit. All this time and I never knew what R.A.P. stood for. What the hell was I doing all these years?
amazing
Yo so is Feefo not poppin on here no more?
It was a good fit, but I'm with Rod ... I felt the same way about Childish Gambino's white producer doing the whole Black Panther score.
i hope y’all do a cancer 4 cure 10 year anniversary review

Still the best Run the Jewels album
I’d take R.A.P. Music over To Pimp a Butterfly anyday
Uno..El Notification Squad
do more revisits ... like Acid Rap since he fell off so hard afterwards
First? Whatever. Album still slays.
On this album especially Killer Mike’s voice sounds like ice cube but his rapping is light years better than ice cubes rapping ability
Wasn't it Rhythmic American Poetry?
im going to say something
and nobody will maybe agree with me..... but rap music is better than any run the jewels album. and i love RTJ
RTJ0
DO LIL B “I’m Gay” 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
