Myke said what needed to be said, and I'm so glad cause I was feeling crazy till it was his turn to talk. Took the words out my mouth, cause this shit had me grinning non-stop jumping in my car the entire weekend. Entire time I was listening I couldn't stop thinking about how only Krit could've made a project like this work, and how unique this was amongst other artists that do soulful melodic rap. Bro made bangers in a lane known for its wooziness. Definitely replaying the shit outta it.
Everybody kept saying “this is cool just not what I wanted from KRIT”, so if it were anybody else you would love it. That’s your problem, not the album’s.
No cap this album, Adele's, and the Weeknd's all deserve special recognition for being albums that were just perfection in terms of artist finding their sound. Simply amazing 🤷🏿♂️
I’ve been waiting on this one. Big Krit is one of favorite artists. I’m in agreement with Myke. Although it wasn’t what I was expecting, this album was so jamming. I’m excited to see where he goes from here. As of now, my favorite album this year so far
I absolutely adore this album. I agree with Myke, I cannot WAIT for the summer to play this album. I've been playing this so much I'm afraid I'll get sick of it before June, lol.
I’m shocked at how y’all feel about this tbh. I love this album and it’s been on repeat since I first played it. I feel like Myke with this. I turned my speakers all the way up, rolled one up and cleaned the house. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all but I can’t stop playing it. Definitely 8-8.5/10 for me.
Big K.R.I.T. has been my favorite rapper since 2013, when King Remembered in Time dropped. 4eva is a Mighty Long Time I feel like was his magnum opus, then he followed it up with one of my least favorite albums from him ever with KRIT Iz Here. Granted, a bad album from KRIT is still better than a lot of the competition. I feel like this album is a much better than that one, however, he’s still capable of much more. It’s growing on me with every listen. 7/10.
I feel like hes underrated. Which sucks because he one of the best especially his albums then still is classic and the songs and the beats like bigger picture, banana clip theory n I don't wanna be a nigga (that to me is one of the underrated songs.)
I agree, KRIT was one of my favourites for a long time and was super impressed by mighty long time (possibly one of the best rap double albums of all time). But since then the music has been mediocre, really hope he returns back to form. I appreciate the growth and cohesive sound on this one but like you said, I can’t help feeling frustrated as he’s more than capable of more.
i was JUST listening to my sub part 4 thinking “i can’t wait for DEHH’s review of KRIT’s new album”. five minutes later i see the review is up y’all never disappoint!!!
with myke on this one. had no idea what to expect going in after coming off "k.r.i.t. iz here" but this was great. a nice concise project that executed on its concept and had some pretty good production. the album is fun to listen to and has a ton of replay value for me. definitely enjoyed the switch up.
Myke said exactly how I feel about this album. I love when my favorite artists experiment with new sounds and make it work. KRIT did his thing on this joint. Man those beats are so soulful and funky. I love it
The funk sound was ushered in by a song called " Keemy Casanova" by an artist name Akeem ali.....Krit was so inspired by Akeem's music...he asked him to be on the So Cool video.....he's the guy that's spraying Krit's hair in the video....a very dope artist.
Myke was spot on. I agree fully with him. This album grew on me and Krit has done just about everything I feel like he possibly could in his career making music with rap albums. I like this switch up and I also agree a bit with Feefo about the timing of it. I still really enjoy this album. Can’t wait to see what he does next.
I think we all wanted that familiar Krit, but I genuinely respect, and enjoyed what he did here. He’s such a great producer, and he really showcased his musical chops
I'm with Myke on this one, most KRIT projects I really love but rarely go back and replay them. This one might have more spins than all of his other projects for me already! It's so groovy! Let mfs have fun. I believe KRIT is honestly having fun, great album imo.
Mehh found the album boring, been awhile since I liked a project from him tbh. I like him cool dude when I met him, but idk... Maybe I need to listen to it again in a different head space I was looking for rapping
Quite the opposite, I found songs enjoyable on first listen, and haven’t gone back to them at all. Lmao and I love Krit man, but I just can’t with this album.
Y’all trippin this album is fire.....as a musician i appreciate the soulfulness and live instrumentation, it took it back to the roots of the juke joints back in the south.....true black music, which a lot of today’s ppl are so far removed from soul, jazz, eclectic music
Myke is a true fan of music. The others are just rap fans for the most part. This is why I usually skip to Myke's section when it comes to albums like this that are more musical than your average rap album.
I'm with Myke on this. Krit has given us an endless amount trunk slappers. If the man wants to sing his heart out I'm all for it. I put this on while I was working and I vibed the whole way through. I love it the more and more I listen to it. Rhode Clean ain't never leaving the rotation.
I just love how initially, throughout the album it’s mentioned that no filters are needed because the smiles are genuine, but by the time we arrive at the closing interlude; the smiles are being used as filters to cover up the reality of the relationship. With that being said my favorites are It’s Over Now, Wet Lashes & Shot Glasses, All The Time & all the interludes
SOO glad Feefo's last critique got brought up lol. This project - to me - cements K.R.I.T. in the ATLiens/late-Tribe space, but updated for today. The chord arrangements are just as busy on this as anything Tyler's produced in the last 2 years, but K.R.I.T. is clearly putting his foot down on the "listenability" box in contrast to the "'challenge' your listener box" (a la Cherry Bomb) for reasons being whatever the f***... And I definitely co-sign Ken's read that this is a follow up on his previously stated desire to sing more, rap less (I think that was even on the Phonte track "Life of Kings"?) Last thought: Digital Roses Don't Die title following slew of re-releases of older projects on streaming makes me think his label issues are thoroughly cleared and he owns his back catalogue now?? Definitely cause to be happy if that's the case.
This album took me awhile, especially after his August album was straight RAP. My first listen, I was upset/didn’t understand. My second listen, I was disappointed. My third listen, I didn’t hate it. My fourth listen, I LOVED it. It’s like his August album was side A from 4Eva is a Mighty Long time, and DRDD is side B from 4Eva.
Big Krit is probably one of favorite rappers of the last decade and hearing his last project and now this I’m pretty disappointed. I won’t say this project is bad but I know Krit has done way better
The replay value on this album is incredible. There is an overall concept but KRIT flexes his ability to adapt to a beat and mix it up. Not my favorite KRIT album but I've enjoyed the listen thus far. I am sometimes to harsh on albums / artists lately, it seems. When just enjoying the music and craft is what it should be about.
I'm digging this album. I understand those that aren't because it's not what you expected or wanted but this is a great body of work for a particular mood. Excellent driving music! Excellent Vibes. I'm with Mike. It's a fun time that doesn't overstay its welcome.
As big of a K.R.I.T fan as I am, I was low key pretty disappointed from this project. It’s decent overall but nothing all too special. For me it was a 6 - 6.5/10. It’s ok but not even close to how good he was in his peak
You not a Big Krit fan. Because if you were you know he was going this lane one time. That man made 10 albums and he cant explore other things. You need to grow up kid. Nobody wants to eat chicken everyday
@@mistanderson telling somebody to grow up just because they don’t enjoy a project just as much as you do is an oxymoron to say the least. The album just didn’t click. I know Nas can’t give me Illmatic again but he still can give me KD2 and Magic. KRIT has every right to switch up his sound. But his fans have every right to like it or not like it. Neither are childish for their choice. Music is subjective. It’s either for you or it’s not. Simple
@@TheRealLeonardWashington It's no point trying to get your point across to that dude. I see him on every review for this album giving people shit and saying they're not real fans if they don't like this album.
I like more smooth r&b type music as I get older so I liked the project. I’ve been a big krit fan since krit wiz here. He’s done tracks like this over the years. This reminds me of the Justin Scott side of the double disk
Have you ever rhode cleeeeeeaaan 😎 this album was smooth as sh*t! Not gonna say ill come back to this album as a whole but i definitely took some bangers out of this one, big up KRIT!
I’m glad KRIT made this album. So much of the same shit being made in hip-hop it’s good to hear something uplifting. Y’all haven’t seen nothing yet tho, wait till Kendrick drop lol….I’m pretty sure he bout to drop something real left
I have been a fan forever and I didn't completely love Krit Iz Here it was was least favorite but I still believe it's not a bad project. This new project is playing non-stop for me. It's becoming one of my favorites like 4eva is a mighty long time and King Remembered in time and, I love the production on this Album.
let's not get it twisted the best version of krit is when he's straight rapping but this was imo more of a passion project and tbh he kind of pulled it off. i could of done without "cum out too play" & "boring" but the rest were catchy and the instrumentals are smooth af. krit has set a high standard but i dont think it's fair to compare this to his past projects since it's not a rap album, let's enjoy it 4 what it is.
I think Drake is the most reviewed artist on DEHH. Take Care, NWTS, IYRTITL, Views, More Life, Scorpion, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, Scary Hours 2, and Certified Lover Boy have all been discussed on this channel. Y'all also did an anniversary review of So Far Gone.
This sound is one of the sounds of the future jazz funk/ g jazz, this Larry June on the more rap rap side Coolin out enjoy your day music I could be reaching but it’s building
I love this album this is honestly one of his best pieces of art . I been playing them noon spot 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I respect yOu guy’s opinion but if you know hip hop you hear the OutKast, ugk, 8ball Mjg, sosbands, etc etc this has very long replay value
Krit Iz Here & This Album remind Me of when Yelawolf did Radioactive then Love Story maybe the next album will be like a Trial By Fire or Trunk Muzik 3.
Wow yall missed the mark on this one. Myke was the one really showing the love that this project deserved. I Don’t Know why y’all didn’t touch on the fact that it was a love story with hip hop, but it’s jamming for sure. Could have at least acknowledged the album title and the message behind it.
From what I've heard so far I think it's a great album. I think most of the backlash comes from the expectation of a rap album but he's gave us numerous great rap albums/tapes and I like the energy and direction of this one. It'll definitely encapsulate the feel when the weather becomes nicer; it matches a cool summertime/spring feel.
I'm with Myke. The only song I skip is Come to Play. That one didn't hit for me. Other than that, while completely not what I expected, as 4eva is a mighty long time is one of my favorite albums of all time, I'm really enjoying the hell outta this album. I've been playing it straight through over and over again
I've never given up on a Krit album before. This one, i was done listening to after Boring. This album was not it for me. Maybe it's because my ears weren't ready for this transition, but i was so disappointed in what i got cuz i know he's better than this. And he's not a singer.
I really enjoyed this album. It was funky, soulful, and something new. Sometimes i feel like we’re slaves to our expectations instead of hearing the music for what it is. I give it a 3/5
K.R.I.T. told us he created a planet Cadalactica. My theory is every mix tape/album is one of his states within Cadalactica, because every time you listen to an album you get a different vibe. K.R.I.T. is very creative. I believe "Digital Roses"🌹 shows his growth and not every Hip Hop artist can execute this style.
Aye... I’m enjoying the album, it’s something to vibe to. Rode clean and show you is a jam. Y’all tripping. He’s once again showing you he can do any type of vibe and make it sound good.. hit your accessories on your iPhone and go to audio ... turn off your mono sound , it sounds way better. Once again, dope album. Timeless music
I think this album was meant for a very particular mood and the tracks that hit really hit. Definitely isn’t my favorite from him but definitely at least a 6/10 for me I think
It's weird I have to go back to Krit Iz Here I might like it now like Ken did Yelawolfs Radioactive back in the day or like it more then this I don't know yet of course it's still too early.
If you’ve listened to Krit from his beginning of his career he always sampled in soul and funk. Myself gave it a 6. I give him credit for going all in on the love route. It’s different but not terrible. 6 is fitting
I enjoyed this album. I like how he did what he wanted to do and not what everybody wants him to do. Why does it seem like people want Artist to make this same type songs all the time. Let him be creative. He said it before that he wanted to sing more and he did that. On my first listen I was like damn KRIT, but then after listening to it several times I fuck with every song on it. 9.5/10 in my opinion
My problem is that fans are going into the album expecting old K.R.I.T. albums which is the soul reason for their disappointment. If you’re a fan you should be supportive of your artists experimenting with different sounds and expanding their range. This album is artistically great. Obviously if it’s not for you, that’s different.
What do you mean by being supportive? If I dont like the album - I dont like it, and thats fucking it. You feel like this album is 'artistically great', well I don't.
@@robertavanesovru exactly. I can’t believe people are really shaming people into liking this album. If you like the album great but what’s for you isn’t for everybody else. I learned that with To pimp a butterfly. I personally love TPAB but it’s people who hate it. I had to tell myself that maybe it didn’t hit for them in the way that it hit for me. That’s what makes music so great when you think about it. It’s very subjective
@@robertavanesovru You can appreciate the artistry while still not enjoying it… Support and enjoyment are two different things. Artists evolve by re-inventing themselves with each project and expanding their range of sounds and their art direction. If you don’t re-invent yourself then you don’t evolve. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
Been a fan of KRIT since the early 2010s in his mixtape era. Like a big fan. I'd equate him to Cole and Kendrick. That said it feels like since 4eva is a mighty long time, he's lost his way a bit. Didn't like this album or the one before it.
True Myke generally loves depressing fuck you emo shit Atmosphere etc. I do love that kind of shit too but for Him to be this fucking happy that is wonderful.
I love this album, I've listened to a dozen times and keep going back. It's some grown man shit imo. And I think that's why people have an issue with it. Go listen to his old shit and wait what's next.

Krit Iz Here & This Album remind Me of when Yelawolf did Radioactive then Love Story maybe the next album will be like a Trial By Fire or Trunk Muzik 3.
Generational wealth is my jam. Good album. Different but good.
Man I respect Mike's stance hell tho cause Krit should do whatever the fuck He wants even if it's different cause He should be aloud to do that.
Krit can do whatever the fuck he wants. That doesn't mean I (or anyone else) got to like it
Wow yall missed the mark on this one. Myke was the one really showing the love that this project deserved. I Don’t Know why y’all didn’t touch on the fact that it was a love story with hip hop, but it’s jamming for sure. Could have at least acknowledged the album title and the message behind it.
Yeah I gotta sit with this one more it caught me off guard but it is a very fun album.
Rhode Clean is smoooooothhh
I'm with Myke. The only song I skip is Come to Play. That one didn't hit for me. Other than that, while completely not what I expected, as 4eva is a mighty long time is one of my favorite albums of all time, I'm really enjoying the hell outta this album. I've been playing it straight through over and over again
I've never given up on a Krit album before. This one, i was done listening to after Boring. This album was not it for me. Maybe it's because my ears weren't ready for this transition, but i was so disappointed in what i got cuz i know he's better than this. And he's not a singer.
This is what Ken said about 4ever N a Day. “This is a R&b album”
I feel like he did a lot of these sounds on Cadillactica
Myke with the right opinion once again
There is no such thing as the right opinion. Opinions are neither right or wrong
I love Krit but this album bored me and was hard to get through :/
The Silent Myke Paradox: The less Myke says before his turn to review, the stronger his response will be.
This was disappointing, honestly last album I liked was 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time
I'm late to the comments but this an old southern black man's album. I can sing cook and clean to this. This is a solid album
This is a great vibe album. I understand why some won't dig it though.
I definitely went in expecting “old KRIT”. But once I had my expectations reset, this album absolutely grew on me.
@@robertavanesovru Why do you not think it’s artistically great?? You not enjoying it doesn’t effect artistry…
Myke spittinnn
Been a fan of KRIT since the early 2010s in his mixtape era. Like a big fan. I'd equate him to Cole and Kendrick.
That said it feels like since 4eva is a mighty long time, he's lost his way a bit. Didn't like this album or the one before it.
Fantano gave it a 4, all we need to know. That means it is probably a real good album. 😉
@@wm_9640 very hard to imagine
True Myke generally loves depressing fuck you emo shit Atmosphere etc. I do love that kind of shit too but for Him to be this fucking happy that is wonderful.
I love this album, I've listened to a dozen times and keep going back. It's some grown man shit imo. And I think that's why people have an issue with it. Go listen to his old shit and wait what's next.
