It be hilarious and entertaining watching him go in on albums he doesn't like. Almost to the point where it makes you wanna grab some popcorn and watch. Even though I liked KOD (I wouldn't consider it the best in his discography), it was still funny watching him trash it.
BlackKidWithTheGlasses Reference makes 0 sense. Connecting waiting for the review with that Kanye bullshit did not make any joke that made any sense. Below cringe status.
Jay Anderson I don’t understand how anyone can be a die hard fan of anything and just pretend like something isn’t sub par. I fucking LOVE Kendrick, Andre 3000 and Kanye easily my 3 favourite rappers (I’m only 21 so the older rappers don’t hit me as hard as I didn’t grow up with their music whereas Andre & Kanye were the soundtrack to my childhood and Kendrick was the soundtrack for my teenage years). But, if Kendrick or Andre were ever to release anything wack, I’m not gonna sit there and try and defend it...with Kanye, he’s released a bunch of wack shit in the past few years, and I never defend it...Ye and JIK were just not up to par and I’ll never try and tell someone that it’s great just because I like Kanye...I don’t get this whole die hard fan/dick riding culture tbh...the worst are easily Eminem dickriders tho...
Jay Anderson That's how I feel about Eminem die hards. I'm an Eminem fan but I love Nas, Pac, Wu Tang, etc. too and without them you wouldn't have him. And some of the songs he's released over the past 10 years are a no for me especially the ones he did with Rihanna.
J. Cole is an above average rapper. J. Cole is a average producer. His pride won't let him reach out to other producers beside FHD. I can't say he's produced one classic beat. Maybe Power Trip. Dude would sound incredible over some Apollo Brown, Premo, Just Blaze, 9th Wonder beats, but his pride won't allow him to admit his beats aren't great.
Oneil Campbell Hell Krit got other people to help produce his album and it’s dope. Cole has all of those rappers and at least one singer in his camp and he refuses to collab with them on his own albums
I agree with your statement. I don't think as a rapper he is anywhere in the league of Nas, Kendrick, Cube, etc etc. And as a producer he is nowhere near in the league of Primo, Dre, etc etc. He is above average but no more than that, however he has a tonne of fans so why does he need to change anything? What he does works for his fanbase.
Coming from a huge J Cole fan, I really appreciated this interview. You guys are really awesome at articulating your opinions, and it's nice to hear how other people feel about his music.
At times cole has the same problem logic has (nowhere as bad) when it comes to themes they either over think it or don’t realize it isn’t as deep as they thought
Damn that dislike ratio crazy, J Cole stans found this video and got mad someone has a different opinion. 🤔 It was a good review, congrats on the studio!
I'm a big J. Cole and it always hurts when you guys don't like his music (especially Myke), but always respect you guys' opinions. You don't have to like everything. Keep doing your thing and congrats on the studio.
Naw. I love those projects but there is no way songs like LADIES, TIL INFINITY, and HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS are better than songs like BRACKETS or CHANGE.
Ian Smart but Cole was more consistent then. Cole is barely giving snippets of the old Cole on his new stuff. His best bodies of work were his mixtapes.
See i don't. I listen to that Cole for a youthful energy. I get more out of how focused and consistent this new Cole is. His projects aren't just about his own insecurity but about his perspective on the world (and he structures his songs in a way that makes that even better). Maybe its just me, but I get WAY more outta Cole now than I did when I heard those mixtapes (i do love them tho)

K.I.D. Beats If Kendrick puts out 2 more amazing or even just great albums, he might honestly be considered greatest of all time but for now nah. But Kendrick hasn’t had a miss and has had 4 albums (5 if you count Untitled)
@PRO GAMING Calm down lol J Cole is great in his own way. There is a reason J Cole is extremely popular and able to go double platinum with no features.
I’m a cole fan but do feel his flaw is it’s too much him. Him on the beat, him on the hook, him on the verse. This is a solid project but i always wanted to see him work with NO ID or just someone else and a few features just to see him spar with somebody. The project is cool but again it’s not great and i feel like he’s just missing 1 or 2 things
F.L.O.W. I'm also a Cole fan and I feel like this album and the last one had a message he needed to get across that didn't seem right for features. TBH the only song that I felt that could have used a feature was Motiv8 and the Cut off.
Mon Gu Son he does just fine on it but i do think he needs a change of pace or just something different. This was different in the terms of trap beats but it still sounded like his sound if that makes sense. I just wanna hear cole over other production i think it could bring out an even better artist.
F.L.O.W. What do y'all want from him. I'm so confused. Did anyone realize that he had something to say. This album is literally about addiction to, money, Hoes, social media and drugs ,but people still sound like they want Cole to hit y'all with double and triple entandres.
I feel like conceptually this was Cole’s strongest project, and it had all kinds of flows and beats on it. The only two songs I’m not really fuckin with sonically are The Cut Off and Photograph. The way he explores different facets of addiction and brings it all back around at the end with FRIENDS and Window Pain hit me hard, and it’s particularly relevant to this generation of young black kids who don’t talk about their problems and just self medicate. It handles the topic of addiction respectfully, offers J. Cole’s personal solution to doing drugs, and sounds good while doing it, so I’m fuckin wit it
too be honest this is more well put together than anything he has done. the album has a nice amount of consistency for his message about drug addiction and vices. He dropped on 4/20 for a reason. Once an Addict (interlude) was an amazing song. It's main stream but it's cohesive. I needed something different and I like it.
j cole IS a basic, average mc. the fans can get mad all they want but in any other era j cole would not be considered in the elite in terms of flow, lyrics, delivery, nothing. he's only overhyped af now cause there's very little rappers in the mainstream doing traditional rap like this anymore, and even in that small number i don't think he's in the top tier.
Exactly. In a game where there’s lyricists and artists like Earl Sweatshirt, Kendrick, Vince Staples, Mac Miller, ScHoolboy Q, Joey Bada$$, Tyler, The Creator, all the Flatbush Zombies, A$AP Rocky, etc. I just don’t see how Cole can compare.
Inglewood born L.A. raised Agreed. Even if this project isn’t perfectly executed..at least he tries to make a difference, at least he uses his platform for to send a positive message.
Inglewood born L.A. raised Are you listening to a lot of rap that isn’t mainstream? Cuz if not Cole hasn’t been a breath of fresh air since like his first album and partially during Born Sinner.
Darrick Franklin nah bruh I don't listen to the radio or any mumble or ignorant rap. Maybe for you it's not and thats cool to each his own, but this album is cold to me. And I usually don't fuc with Cole maybe that's why
What sat yall apart was the idea and the scenery of being outdoors. It gave us the fellas talking on some chill shit. aurguemnts. but hey yall got a studio...coool
Idk, after I heard this album it just made me listen to 4YEO more and more. There’s nothing here (besides ATM, Once an addict and Brackets) that makes me excited
I'm not a believer in listening to an album to force yourself to like but it really sounds like they listened to this one time and never returned to it. They couldn't even go into detail about the tracks they did and did not like.
Degenerett Who cares? If you don't like something and you can't tell me specific reasons why you don't like it, why should I or anyone value your opinion?
J. Cole’s fans over sell him. J. Cole hypes himself up too much for his own good. No one else is good enough to feature on your album? What about his flow, lyricism, or storytelling is amazing? He is not a conscious rapper. He only has a handful of songs with very impressive themes or topics. Good album. Not great.
Everyone should understand how important this set is. It’s a lot of years of hard work! People will forget all of this if they don’t agree with yalls opinion but this is amazing, congratulations
I'm not gonna talk shit about anyone of you guys. Ya'll are the best. But I do have to disagree. This is one of Cole's best albums imo. Sure what he's saying isn't necessarily "mind blowing" but since when did a concept have to blow your mind in order for you to learn something and enjoy it? I will say the first half is the weakest in terms of production and repetition, but the other half is some of Cole's best work. The way he flows on the tracks are amazing to me. Tbh, I think a lot of people downplay his wordplay as well. And whether you care about the concept or not, this is the most cohesive he's ever been with every track sticking to the topic of being addicted to something (with the exception of KOD. I just think he made that track to flex.) Yes, Cole can definitely benefit from a few features. I'm quite tired of it just being him too lol. But I still respect him for being himself. All in all I'm not mad that you guys don't like the album. (It's not very surprising. At this point you either like him or you don't.) But I just wish he got more props. Respect to all of you and no hate from me.
Honest question because I don't understand: Are you saying its one of his best because hes sticking to a concept better than he has in previous works? Because imo you can have the most cohesive album ever but still have it be boring. A weak first half and a good second half puts an album in average territory for me and the album concept wasn't executed so well that it elevated the album further beyond that ranking imo. Don't get me wrong, I like Cole, but just like with 4YEO I'm sitting on the sidelines wondering how people repeatedly call him the best yet are satisfied with what I think are only OK albums. If we praise his OK content as great what reason is there to get better? But that may be a different conversation
jaymmira Well while I said the first half was weaker due to the production and repetitiveness I don’t necessarily see it as bad. I still enjoy listening to it. But music is subjective so trying to convince you to like something you don’t enjoy is pointless. Now the reason I say this is one of his best is because of the consistency of the concept and the second half being so good that it outweighs the negative in the first half. But like I said, it’s subjective so we’re probably not gonna see eye to eye no matter how long we go back and forth.
This is probably Cole's best album, my favourite is still FHD though. I feel like he's playing it safe and not branching out to work with others that could make him a better artist. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Kendrick's Untitled Unmastered was a bunch of TPAB throwaways and it's still a better project than anything Cole has put out. Cole needs to go back to the drawing board if he really wants to have real Hip-Hop heads fuck with him (He probably doesn't care though).
Here come the cole stans disliking the video for no reason. PEOPLE, just cause they disagree with you isn't a good reason to downvote. Music is subjective, if they didn't like it they didn't like it, no need to get but-hurt. And its not like they said it sucked and thats it, they gave their own points and reasoning which I felt were viable.
I always get a laugh out of you all. I always go back to your videos. Your videos have been my working white-noise and I can quote some of your videos at this point.
People say Cole's biggest strength is being relatable then get mad when you say he's average. To relate is to be average. Too far above or below and you lose people.
Bartholomule01 relatable and average in lyrical CONTENT not in the lyricism, flow, rapping and Beats...JID’s two albums are better than anything Cole has ever put out and I love mixtape Cole...

NotDoyinYale I mean none of them have dropped two consecutive bad albums
Wow in today's rap climate I thought this was a breath of fresh air, and I don't usually bump Cole like that
Inglewood born L.A. raised Agreed.
The trolling throughout this review makes it unenjoyable. Good job Ken 👍🏽
What sat yall apart was the idea and the scenery of being outdoors. It gave us the fellas talking on some chill shit. aurguemnts. but hey yall got a studio...coool
New DEHH studios bumps more in the whip than Cole's album, which was aight imo. better than his last of course.
Feefo’s delayed laugh at 14:15 was the best. Ken with the sneak diss.
I know it's been out for a while now, but I'd still love to get your thoughts on the new Flatbush Zombies.
“Hit me with the DAD STONE” HAD ME DEADDDDD😂😂😂
Also shout to that Company Flow shirt Myke is rocking. 👍🏿😎
19:45 Myke *Gets triggered* "Now hold on a minute" starts crying/shouting. I love this show
DEHH keeps hip hop alive. The intellect in their debates repells mumble rap.
This probably the only J Cole project I really like a lot.
Troll
Idk, after I heard this album it just made me listen to 4YEO more and more. There’s nothing here (besides ATM, Once an addict and Brackets) that makes me excited
Deon Nelson No just being honest.
lil trashcan highhkey
lil trashcan the repetative hooks were a thematic choice. It fits well with rat race perspective he often raps through in this album.
Congratz on the studio, been a long time coming. The grind don't stop
I loved this album...... Definitely a dope project.
I'm not a believer in listening to an album to force yourself to like but it really sounds like they listened to this one time and never returned to it. They couldn't even go into detail about the tracks they did and did not like.
Tafari The Tireless cry about it, coles trash
Degenerett Who cares? If you don't like something and you can't tell me specific reasons why you don't like it, why should I or anyone value your opinion?
UNEXPECTED DROP LETS GO
edit: by the way this is a good album idc what anyone says
I love the album and Cole. Y’all reviews of mainstream artists always seem to be the funniest.
Myke seemed so fed up and I kind of felt it
12:25 "you thought i was feelin you?" vibes
LMFAOOOOOOO
the "like" was the cherry on top LOL@@kyemazo2976
"Its a thing great but who gives a fuck" probably the best description of all the popular cole songs
"He dun freed out da trap!!" 😂😂😂🤣
Here come the cole stans disliking the video for no reason. PEOPLE, just cause they disagree with you isn't a good reason to downvote. Music is subjective, if they didn't like it they didn't like it, no need to get but-hurt.
And its not like they said it sucked and thats it, they gave their own points and reasoning which I felt were viable.
I will NEVER tire of Myke destroying J Cole
I always get a laugh out of you all. I always go back to your videos. Your videos have been my working white-noise and I can quote some of your videos at this point.
Congrats on the studio! I remember the days of y'all meeting up on lunch break to review projects in the park #dehh4life
J cole does have good ideas but something about him does come off as boring.
People say Cole's biggest strength is being relatable then get mad when you say he's average. To relate is to be average. Too far above or below and you lose people.
Eminem is above average MC but is super relatable. Thats not an excuse.
@Romy Taylor well GKMC isn't relatable to the common person at all, and same with Section 80 IMO
@@bizarrenrugged3370 was relatable..not is
Bartholomule01 relatable and average in lyrical CONTENT not in the lyricism, flow, rapping and Beats...JID’s two albums are better than anything Cole has ever put out and I love mixtape Cole...
I agree with Myke 💯 I first listened to this album at night and I swear it literally put me sleep it was so boring.
Romy Taylor This whole comment section biased.
J Cole's biggest strength is his ability to be relatable in a creative way
KOD = Cole’s best project
If you didn’t like Cole before. You won’t like him now.
