i connected the dji mic 2 with the insta360 x3 and it worked as well. but just like your experience, backup recording doesnt work too. btw, i heard that after a firmware update of the ace pro, the dji mic 2 doesnt work anymore (no audio) when it is connected. is this true?
I think the reason you can't do bluetooth and backup recording, is due to there is a patent issue with simultaneous recording and transmitting in the US. I learned that from the Deity Theos system, they have the US and international version, they say if you outside of US, they you can do both recording and transmitting.
El problema viene en el firmware la versión primera que acabe en 21 si lo acepta la otras versiones que acaba en 35 y en 41 no de momento no es compatible la acepta ,pero no graba sonido
About the backup recording. They state on their website that the Back-up recording doesn't work with certain Bluetooth applications. Will this feature work on the Insta360 one R?
When I hook Mine up with the receiver and transmitter to the ace pro I don’t see any audio levels on the camera I have the mic adapter and cable any reason why?
Is it still working for you? I only have the transmitter with the latest firmware on the ace pro and the dji mic 2. It takes forever to connect, but than it does not record any sound.
Very nice video, thanks! However, I'm still a little confused and have a question. Does the original DJI Mic (with the two transmitters, one receiver, and one changing case) work with the Insta360 Ace Pro? If so, how does it connect, i.e., directly with the DJI Mic's USB-C plug and/or the Insta360 adapter AND an audio cable? THANKS!
No, it looks like you need to buy the adapter to get a 3.5mm audio input and externally exposed USB-C port, but even then it looks like you need to use the 3.5mm audio for a mic :(
@@LennyandSandiI haven't, mine's still awaiting delivery and due on the 5th December. I looked around at a bunch of reviews as I had the same question; also to note that you have to remove the slot for the MicroSD/USB-C port to be visible, so the add-on also exposes a USB-C and 3.5mm jack without exposing the MicroSD. I can see from other reviews that the other Insta devices also can't use a USB-C microphone and need the 3.5mm adapter to be used, so I'm pretty sure this is going to be the same - I'll check once mine arrives and confirm. Note also that you can get an extra mount that provides a cold-shoe on the side, perfect for mounting the receiver for the DJI Mic onto.
@@JohnBaxendale Thank you for providing such feedback. Yes, I wondered why those who do talk about the DJI Mic 2 (Bluetooth Version), they never mention the original DJI Mic. I'm looking forward to your review when you get your gear. Again, thank you very much.
@@LennyandSandi Hey Lenny, I received my camera today and tried the USB-C connection to the DJI Mic, unfortunately it did not work as we suspect :( Still very happy with the camera though, great image quality on video and stills, but it looks like we're going to need that mic adapter!

man i bought the new dji mic 2 with insta 360 ace pro and it did not work at all via bluetooth , both are paired and it was not recording, i doubt that the one you used is related to pocket 3 and the one i bought is the new version released from dji, i talk about the one which costs 99 dollars or 89 sterling
Nice that that's an option, but the sound didn't really sound that great? In my humble opinion... may be able to be EQ'd in Post, if one wanted to go that route? But Thanks for sharing!!! #Salute
So today I must spend $669.99 to get a pocket 3 + dji mic 2, then why would I need a Insta ace pro, where i can buy an Insta mic and be dedicated to Insta. I get that we al lwant the best ,but till the DJI Mic 2 comes out in the future this is what we must deal with, thanks for your reiew I will continue to P A S S on it
I read from another video post that their is going to be another Ace Pro firmware update the the are going to make the DJI mic 2 and Ace Pro compatible again coming out in April. Hopefully backup recording will work also with 32-float. Finger crossed!

Dji mic 2 also freezed the ace pro.
can you pair two dji mic2 transmitters with insta360 ace pro?
Does this mean the dji mic 2 also works as a mic for the non-pro ace version?
how do you put dji mic in pairing mode cant seem to connect to my ace pro

I get no sound from Insta 360 Ace Pro and no sound from Insta 360 X3. Looks like a software update has made the two systems incompatible.
Me too. And it freezed my ace pro. Dji is like diseaster.
Hey guys do you know if it was fixed?
Do you think Insta360 is going to have a firmware update to fix the close focusing issue? Or will that be part of the Ace Pro 2?
It's not a firmware problem.
Can they improve the audio quality with the bluetooth mic? Its far from good now. What if you plug a lavalier into the dji mic?
The constraint is the bandwidth of bluetooth. Improving the mic will not be effective.
Can you set the gains on the insta while using it in Bluetooth
It makes a lot of buzzing sounds :O
As handy as it is to use a mic via Bluetooth, the quality of audio will be very low compared to using a 3.5mm cable and the mic adapter add-on.
