Greetings again from the Bay Area. Tony, you asked about former guitar purchases, (with bills of sale, etc. I don't have the receipt, but here's my story:
As a 13-year old, in 1963, I had become hooked on the great Folk Revival of the time, and I begged my father for an acoustic guitar. What I got was the classic Guitar-Looking Object (GLO). Totally unplayable... That summer, I sent on month- long camping trip with my science teacher and a car full of rising 7th graders that ended up in Mexico (from North Carolina). At a street market in Saltillo, I bought a beautiful little classical guitar for $12.00 that I played for the next few years until I finally acquired a full-sized, quality instrument. I'm still surprised at how early my guitar geekiness set in.

I know Dave personally. There is a school near canton where I went to high-school and he went to an event called carrier day. The principal took a picture of he and I jamming out in the middle of the gymnasium during the carrier day. Absolutely a heap of knowledge and experience.

More fuel for the capo fire - I've recently started using a 5 string capo. Placed on the 2nd fret, you get the effect of a dropped D tuning. You can use a second, full capo behind the partial one to move the dropped D up the neck. I use the Shubb C8b, other manufacturers have them as well. Saw a video with Steve Earle where he was talking about using one and learning it from Guy Clark. It unlocked a whole new area of guitar exploration for me.

Greatings from Tadley, UK. Another great show guys! I've been a huge fan of Thalia Capos since purchasing one a few years back, but I absolutely agree about the weight....I've been searching for something for my Art & Lutherie Roadhouse parlour that is a touch lighter so I'm really appreciating the capo tour you're taking us on. Looking foward to celebrating the one year anniversary soon. Keep up the great work - Simon.

#smallwin From Concord CA - My wife and I spent a week in Monterey CA without our 5 kids, but I brought Grace my Taylor 214e SB DLX. We stayed in this great hotel right on the Bay but I didn't want to bother other guests in the hotel so I went outside and played my guitar with lots of foot traffic. I've only been playing guitar for about a year so this was my first public guitar adventure and it was awesome.

Hi Tony, another Tony here from UK. Your review of the G7th Heritage intrigued me since I have had a 12-string Guild for some time and it has been seriously under played. To ease the tension on the neck it’s tuned down a semi-tone so it’s even lower and essentially too low for my voice. I’ve tried just about every type of capo available. G7ths 12-string looked expensive but if it made my Guild playable for me it would be great. Ordered and received the capo within 2 days and I have to say it does just what it say on the tin. Beautifully engineered, perfect fit and capoed the Guild perfectly with no hint of string buzz or loss of intonation. Thanks for introducing me to this product it’s made my year:)

Hey, cool! Rory Block is showing off a Kalamazoo guitar on her "High Heel Blues" album cover! I have two Kalamazoos (so far), and love them! By the way, Acoustic Guitar magazine listed Rory's "Last Fair Deal" as one of their "45 Albums from the 2000s You Should Hear". Thanks for another good show. /s/ VikingPadre from Cleveland

Cheers bros, from Washington Court House, OH!
#SmallWin just yesterday purchased another late 70s Japan made Martin/Sigma to add to my now collection of 2! It is a DR-41, and though it is in dire need of some TLC, I’m confident it will emerge as a great addition to my same era DR-35. ...Guitarsenal entry coming soon!
#YouKnowYoureAGuitarGeekWhen you contemplate shipping your guitar to Tony, and having him review it so you can hear him play “last steam engine” on it... because that’s your litmus test on how a guitar sounds from watching hours of acoustic letter reviews.
Great show guys, what can I say... I’m hooked! \m/

If you have never played Dave Nichols guitars, I highly recommend you do, I have 2. One of the guitars I had made in 2006, it is basically a D-28 marquis(ADI/EIR) with style 45 snowflake inlay. my second which I received on my birthday is a second herringbone with ADI/Braz . Both are phenomenal .

I finally bit the bullet and created a guitar song book from songs I downloaded from ultimate guitar. I created a cover page and my wife had it bound for me into a beautiful book so I don’t have to try to prop my phone while I’m learning a song #smallwin. When my son saw the book he walks up grabs his parlor guitar that he never touches and says “daddy can you teach me a couple of chords”? I taught him A and D and we played “Are you sure Hank done it this way” from my awesome new book #famjam !

#Youknowyou'reaguitargeekwhen you buy a Cologne called Burbon Cedar simply because of the reference to Burbon (Tony's favorite adult beverage) and Cedar due to the wood being a prized tonewood on acoustic guitars.
Noah if the company ever brings outa Scotch and Spruce I will buy that as well.
I also think it qualifies as a #smallwin because while wearing it to gigs I have received compliments about the nice subtle scent adding to the time with interacting with audience members during breaks. Anyone who performs knows you can work up a sweat just setting up a PA and performing each set. I decided to try it out with great results. Bottom line, if it makes for a more pleasant experience plus helps satisfy my inner guitar geek I am game to try it.
Cheers and as always another great episode.#BeardedGuitarBros

#ThaliaCapo I have been using my Chrome and Dragon Abalone capo for about 3 weeks. It is beautiful, easy to use when playing, easy to customize for different guitars, does not buzz or "de-tune" my guitar. I have also discovered that the capo can be placed more to the middle of the fret. This gives me a bit more room while fretting. Overall - I love it.

#Youknowyouareaguitargeekwhen you go online shopping for some cheap practice strings (because all these Elixirs threaten family budget) and after few hours, by the time you finally click the "strings" category, you have a few hundred dollars worth of acoustic geek's merchandise in multiple virtual shopping carts on bunch of different websites. And you can't live without any of it. Should've bought these Elixirs. At least the local shop is poorly supplied.

#smallwin This week I met a guy at my neighbors house. He was buying something from FB Marketplace. He saw the guitar in my buddy's office and that kicked off the conversation. Turns out he was the guy who got Ren Ferguson's first guitar to Musicvilla. Here's there video about it. ua-cam.com/video/GJewem-Epf8/v-deo.html Bob invited us over to see the guitar and we set up a jam session that we had yesterday. Turns out, Bob has been to Tony's camp in Boise a few times as well. When he found out I was in Tony's Acoustic Challenge, he said Tony has the best program out there. So cool to have this random introduction turn into a jam session and a discussion about AC. -Tom, Marco Island, FL
