    Hey man love the channel.
    I'm a dad from Hawaii.
I don't play. Never have. But I do enjoy guitar talent.
My 13 year old son started playing around with a guitar in school for the first time in his short life.
He was allowed to bring it home for a weekend about 3 months ago.
About a couple weeks after that, I took him to get a used Fendor at the exchange shop here.
We are not rich. So lessons were not in the plans.
But I found you on youtube and shared your channel with him.
He has learned much from your channel. I am impressed with his growth in such a short time.
A big mahalo for what you are doing.
This channel is like him having his own guitar lesson whenever he is ready for it.
I officially have a guitar geek in my home and I couldn't be any happier.
    Keep up the good work!

#Smallwin I was playing my guitar and had wrote a little melody, then my mom asked what it was. I told her that I had wrote it and she was impressed. Made a video with the song and sent it to my grandparents, who loved it! Thanks for the great show from Bellville, TX!

I've been friends with this girl at the guitar store for some time. She was concerned about her sales target, so I wanted to help her out. I bought something I needed for my electric rig and I spotted a newer version of a Taylor 414ce that I had with me and I wanted to check it out. One thing led to another and she offered to change my strings, clean up and set up my guitar... and with a sly smile on her face, all she allowed me to pay for was the strings. #smallwin
We ended up having lunch after that since it was her break time.
You know you're a guitar geek when...
You have a guitar for literally every possible dress code.

AskMatt# - how about a quick episode on scale length. I noticed in Tony's interview with him during the quick round his answer to the scale length was very quick and definite. Maybe Matt can give us a discussion on the history and F&B of the various scale lengths. Love the show. Thanks Tom

#smallwin (I guess for all guitar geeks as anyone of us hopes guitar will never die). While in Italy I met 2 friends at a bar at the beach at Lake Como. Since all of us are guitar geeks the discussion was centered on guitars and music. Somehow we reach a point into the discussion where we tried to determine when exactly people stop meeting at the beach around a campfire in the evening to play and sing together. We all agreed that most likely people born after 1995 are not into rock, folk or any guitar music and they would find it boring or silly to sit around a campfire to sing. Anyway as the evening progressed I took out my guitar and played a couple of songs. As I played "Black" by Pearl Jam I clearly saw 2 young girls passing by and stopping to listen. That gave me hope. That one day someone will pick up from my generation and continue our tradition to gather and play around the campfire at the beach.

6th no no on guitar cases....Never leave your guitar case open after you get your guitar out when outside. Stones, dirt, etc. can get in and cause damage to your guitar when you put it back in the case.

Hey Tony, Gilbert here in Montreal, Quebec (not Arizona). Been listening to your show since day 1. It's after midnight here, full moon ashinin',
and trying to imagine you moon-walking like Michael onto the screen wearing a white glove! B.t.w., my dear friend Anne-Marie's B-day is today as well. Won't divulge her age, just to say she's outlived Mr. Jackson somewhat. A toast to you and your show's anniversary! Bonne chance with your wedding plans as well.

Hi Tony. I'm going back to this past episode of AT to update a past #smallwin and to confirm one of your guitar case don't-do's featured in this episode.
I had never heard of, or considered, the "case bite" danger, but in a Facebook conversation with the former owner of my "new" 1993 Bourgeois OM guitar (red cedar top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, serial number 000053), I learned that an area of slightly mis-matched toner near the edge of the lower bout was the result of a repair of a hole punched into the top the by the case latch falling back on the guitar the very first time the then-new-owner opened the case. I guess that explains how I was able to purchase the OM for much less than I had expected (before I knew of the damage, I was thinking it would sell in the $10,000 range, but paid less than $3600). Still a major #smallwin (or is that an #oxymoron?), but WATCH OUT FOR CASE BITE!

The bonus no-no about the 4th latch: I've done that too! Fortunately, I felt the resistance and stopped trying to open it. But it took me a few tries before I clued in to what the problem was! I felt so dumb! Duhh!!! :D
To be honest, I don't catch your show very often, because I'm not all that much of an acoustic player anymore. But still, cool show, cool info, and some nice laughs. Thanks for the content! Cheers from Norwood, Ontario, Canada.

Aloha, Tony and Noah. Watching from Wahiawa, Hawaii. Love the show. The Leadbelly story trivia was great. Last Thursday many here in Hawaii were very concerned about the weather as Hurricane Lane was poised to thrash the state. I was looking at the news on my iPad for the weather update when I saw a photo of Tommy Emmanuel along the right hand side of the page, which triggered a #smallwin. I clicked on the photo and it took me to the Hawaii Blue Note page. He was to be in concert on Friday and Saturday. I got a premium ticket and got to see him at his 9 pm show. I think there should be a new category of #Hugewin. For me it was a huge win. Also, thank you for featuring John Paul White on today's show. What a treat.

Howdy from Brazoria, TX! Wondering of the effect of the ToneRite is "permanent?" In other words, is this a lasting improvement, or temporary. (Read some reviews that stated folks would "warm-up" their guitar prior to a gig.) I'm about to pull the trigger on a guitar with a new Adirondack top, and think it might help break it in (I'm 62, don't want to wait 10 years!)
    Thanks for another great show!

#smallwins Bought an Aria AF-20 BS here at a local Voronezh store called “Musical Arsenal” a short walking distance from the apartment. Greetings from San Fran. One more case habit - latch your case even when the guitar is out of it. I can't count the number of times I've picked up an empty case and spilled the contents of the storage box - especially if its in a dark room - and you never find all the picks and capos, etc. that you started with.

I would say, do not hesitate and run to your TR dealer and buy it ! It is the best decision your own guitar would take, if she could decide ..... !

Guys #smallwin, bought 24 types of pics (mostly dunlop) and strings from Santa Cruz, d'Addario and Straight Up. Straight Up designed the Santa Cruz strings. So the win is that all three of my guitars (Preston Thompson Parlor 2 (current fav), Collings D2HS, Waterloo WL-12) work best with different picks and different strings. PT Parlor best Santa Cruz light, Either my Wavelength 0.82 pick or Primetone 0.88, Collings D2HS d'Addario 13-56, Primetone 1.0, Waterloo WL-12 (yes I like the 12 frets obvious reason: bridge is centered on the lower bout!) Straight up light, Primeton 1.4. It's funny the thicker the pick the faster I can play but the voice becomes duller. You can use this to your advantage. Like the PT Parlor is all Mahogany, so brighter pick and strings works best, the Collings is huge, much bigger than standard D because it's full scale and 12fret, that needs toned down a little so heavier strings and thicker pick. The Waterloo is maple back and sides, it's a bit bright so thicker picks and different strings. Great experiment, now back to work on my acoustic tube di. More on that maybe in OCT when I finish it up.

#youknowyoureaguitargeekwhen you're colleague brings you his guitar at work to look at that he bought many years ago but wants to learn to play it now. As soon as you look at it you get a huge eye twitch (kindly hiding it though), because the bridge and the fretboard is so dry, strings rusted, and before you could help yourself you take your guitar's allen key out the bag to adjust the trussrod cause the neck is bend badly. You smile and tune the guitar but deep inside you, all you want to do is take it home get new strings, humidify the poor guitar and then polish and oil it and then restring it and give it all the tlc it deserves.

#youmightbeaguitargeekwhen The world thinks you're taking your daughter back to college. In reality you're planning a visit to Dave's Guitar Shop in Lacrosse, WI while you are there.

Shane B with my weekly check in from Bristol, TN. Most EPIC episode yet! And I'm not just saying that because you featured my small #GUITARSENAL. Thanks by the way. Only three weeks left until Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion. You guys should really feature it on Acoustic Tuesday. We have Old Crow Medicine Show headlining this year, and Molly Tuttle is going to be here as well. www.birthplaceofcountrymusic.org/festival/

I learned the hard way to treat my guitar like Grandpa. You don't leave Grandpa in the trunk or a hot vehicle...

I'm curious how many people actually watch these entire episodes. Not criticizing, just curious.
