Hi Thank you for taking the time to demo this properly. I just got mine and needed advice. Sorry some folk are so rude when they are getting a free tutorial😣

Thanks for showing us your technique, Tracey. I have the very same (and other) anvil attachments, and I found that if you file the edges off the end of the anvil to make a smooth nub, and then polish the tip, you will mitigate the damage on the bezel almost entirely. Love the pendants, and your happy delivery!

@@mattmcg3760 oh! Thanks for that! I actually haven’t even used my hammer hand piece in a long while, but maybe I’ll go back and do this! Thank you!

Tip: I use the snap-on Moore's sanding disc's which come in many grits in course, medium and fine. They work great and they have mandrels without the screw that can cause marks with slippage and are quick change. They snap-on and off the mandrels quickly. Amazon and Contenti carries them. They are long lasting too. A master jeweler recommended them to me and I am so grateful. I hope you give them a try and maybe pass this on for others who love to make beautiful things too. ....the nylon ones are the bomb! 😁

Excellent tip, thank you! Nylon is amazing. I use nylon cup brushes on my large angle grinder for wood working. The nylon bristles have a polishing effect, but can burn up at high speeds, so speed must be kept low. In woodworking, you can use wire cup brush to create grooves on soft wood like pine, and an aged effect, then use nylon brushes to remove the burrs and polish into the grooves, which flat sandpaper cannot access. I see a similar effect using nylon bristles wheels and brushes on jewelry.

Tracy, I’m loving your videos! You are new enough to remember what those of us who are even newer are thinking/questioning, and experienced enough to truly help us. Thank you. I hope you keep it up.
I have recently started buying stones, but haven’t set any yet. I just got a hammer handpiece (and extra anvil set) for my SR last week, but haven’t used it yet. I found you just at the right time!
    Questions:
1- Did you file/dress your anvil tip before use (like you did with your LPF graver adapter)? That’s what’s holding me back from my first use. I watched a great Melissa Muir video about filing them months ago in preparation for my splurge on the handpiece. I guess I’ll hunt that down again. Just curious about your experience.
2- I didn’t buy the desktop speed controller. I was hoping I could just depress my foot pedal really lightly, or put a block in it to govern my speed. You’re making me wish I had bought that, too. Do you think I should wait for it to come before using the handpiece, or do you think I might be able to go slow enough with my foot pedal for now? I just don’t want to mess something up once I’ve spent all that time sawing & soldering.
    Thanks in advance!
    Sandra

Where do you buy those lovely stones?

The dings are coming from the anvil piece being too small and sharp edges dig in ... use a larger curved anvil

"Any faster than that and you can damage your hammer handpiece".
Well, that is certainly not true. I believe they say to keep it under 5K rpm. You are nowhere NEAR that.

Did you purposely not properly show a proper view of the attaching of the tool to the flexshaft? Camera work was not user friendly. Also all the additional talk about sanding, wasted my time. You get 2 stars out of 5(5 is great).
