I’m just getting started and haven’t even unboxed my flex shaft yet, but I already bought the hammer handpiece and this adapter and I’m excited to get to use it!
I think it is great. Of course people will use it too fast and heat up their hand piece but they will learn to turn it down and be patient. The difference in cost between a gravermax and compressor and this little tool is a huge difference making your tool a very viable entity. Good job!
I’m going to try it.. Engraving takes forever with my current set ups an SE Flexshaft & new Dremel 4300 ( My old DremPro lasted 22 years) so I am hoping this reduces the amount of time carving and engraving.
I’m glad I got one. Will try it out this Saturday 2-15-20 when I get my hammer hand piece. I’m excited as I just recently got into CoinRings. This will add another dimension 👍
You can but it’s not as controllable and as accurate as an air graver . This tool offers a great entry level option for people wanting to explore power graving
Does this only work with the foredam flex shaft? I currently have another flex shaft at home and two gravers that are already set in their wooden handles.
Can i use a pavetron tip on the hammer hand piece am talking about the one your using in the video omg that what you talking about still reply am watching
Ladies and gentlemen I am proud to announce that I have teamed up with Pepétools and have started a test run of five engraver adapters for the foredom H.15 hand piece - five have been made as a test run and will be sold for $50 USD as an introductory price point. I will Be posting a short video on how to be one of the first five!
I know it has been a while since this was made, but I was looking into buying this from Pepe tools . Does the hammer head piece (with your attachment of course) would work with the Foredom SR?
This is very cool! Which Foredom model would you recommend for general, do-a-bit-of-everything type work? When I get one, I would love to add this engraving attachment!!!
The SR is a great all around model. Perfect for a first foredom! The hammer works well with this as long as the speed is kept very low- the LX is designed for low speed high torque (perfect for the hammer) not ideal with burs. . The TX is a torquey little bugger with higher speeds than the LX I currently use the TX and the LX
You are correct! You will need the H15 - the duplex is a personal preference. I have one on mine and I haven’t had issue with it. The people who have had issues with it report that the duplex is the weakest link when it comes to tool durability. More often than not the duplex spring breaks before anything else. I do get curious about if care, storage and maintenance play a role in those reported failures.
Hey Holly, yes it does. I designed it to take most commercially available gravers - the square shanked GRS will Need the corners rounded slightly to fit the round hole
Exactly the reason I decided not to go that route. I have made some out of annealed O1 tool steel and then hardened and tempered them but that process was too labor intensive for what I was attempting to accomplish
I think it is awsome. I am just starting metalsmithing so I am not ready for engraving, but if I was I would buy one. I really hope you do well selling it.
Was a great idea man! Was a great video for sure but it was extremely slow & seemed to drag on during the 1st 1/2 with the talking. Then again it sounds like ya have a cold & I'm like a zombie when I have one. Next video should try to have the mic closer or somethin as ya have to turn the volume to Max & is still hard to hear. This was ONLY meant to be constructive as all else is great! The funny thing is I was watching this as I was trying to make something similar over the past few days as I have the little Micro-Mark lathe. Will letcha know if I think of any great ideas to add. But I definitely think they're worth goin into production for sure! If ya have enough people buying them it'd be worth eventually takin to a CNC machine shop to have em produced at a faster & cheaper level for you as there are a TON of engravers that'd probably buy this not even bringing up actual jewelers...👌
P.S. ya could also sell them on Instagram once you have your design down pat as I know a ton of people that sell stuff on Instagram alone. Then eventually go the Etsy route then eBay/Amazon if they decide to. Good luck either way... 👌👍
