Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a serious complication that occurs in patients with diabetes. It’s caused by the production of excess amount of acid in the body known as “ketones”. These ketones are produced because the body starts to breakdown fat for producing energy instead of glucose.
However, when fats break down for energy, it produces a waste product: an acid known as ketones. When it exceeds certain limits, it causes diabetic ketoacidosis.

Diabetic Ketoacidosis causes include Uncontrolled diabetes,Missing meals or long gap between meals, Missing insulin dose, Patient on insulin pump and non-functional insulin pump, High levels of stress, and Infection in the body that keeps coming back.
Diabetric ketoacidosis symptoms include Vomiting and pain in abdomen, Dehydration, dry mouth (thirst), and frequent urination, Rapid breathing or Breathlessness, Fruity breath or acetone like smell from mouth, increased heart rate (due to increased breathing) and confusion (due to lack of glucose in the brain).
Diabetic ketoacidosis complications include swelling in brain, kidney failure, and heart failure.
Diabetic Ketoacidosis diagnosis include various urine tests and blood tests.
Diabetic Ketoacidosis risk factors are type I diabetes, History of heart disease or a history of heart attack, Pancreatitis or disease of the Pancreas, and Stroke

Dear Mr Raj Birajdar, type 1 diabetes is when body isn't able to produce enough insulin and diagnosed at an early age whereas type 2 diabetes is acquired due to sedentary lifestyle and insulin isn't able to work - hence, tablets are given.

Any one of these symptoms could mean that it is diabetic ketoacidosis, but to get it confirmed please check your current blood sugar levels (fasting and PP) and get it checked by a doctor :)

I'm suffering from DK from past 3 years, lekin abhi 3 mobths ma mujhe 4 bar DK ho chuka ha hala k ma apni diet shi rkh rhi hu dose bhi shi le rhi hu Dr ki instructions p chal rhi hu so what should i do? Meri halat bhout bigar jati ha jb DK hota ha... Malik sbko achi sehat de bs😢

One of my friend age 22 died due to this disease ......why ? reason ?

@@ZylaTV ..in moring he has taken vaccine and after afternoon ,symptoms like vomitiing ,stomach pain started ....hence admitted in hospital......after 2 days ...he started problem of deep breathing ,suger is 250...and after 2 days .....he died due to Diabetic Ketoacidosis .....at the age 22.................all steps taken in right time ....but still it happened.........i think vaccine is trigger point to start increase in sugar level and ultimately Ketoacid .....he has type 1 diabetes ...genetically
