The explanation was easy to understand. However, you did not tell us if the acid in the blood was a problem, or just a symptom. It is overwhelmingly clear that the skyrocketing, uncontrolled release of glucose by the liver will be a huge problem if not caught by a cgm alarm and insulin is taken by the type 1 diabetic. The electrolyte and dehydration is another obvious huge problem.
However, humans have been regularly using ketones for energy for millions of years. I assume that h+ is released, if I just go by the explanation here. You mention that a tiny amount of insulin can keep the glycerol from breaking apart from fatty acids, but did not go through the chemistry of that pathway during normal, healthy states of ketosis....
It is these 2 explanation shortcomings that explains why most doctors are very confused by ketosis in non type 1 diabetics. I personally would not care, except that my mother's doctor is not type 1 diabetic and getting very bad advice from her doctor, which will most certainly kill her, as it did my 52 year old cousin in 2019. Her doctor does not understand how the liver supplies people who have a functioning pancreas with the two energy supplies.
The root of their confusion is due to the 2 points not explained in the video.

I know this comment is old but Ketoacidosis is basically ketosis on steroids, it’s not healthy. The acid in the blood is the result of the increased concentration of ketones in the blood. When the blood becomes acidic it causes the hemoglobin in your blood cells to not be able to bind to oxygen, so your tissues end up not getting enough oxygen if you have acidosis. If the blood ph becomes too acidic it leads to coma and then death. I hope that helps.
